“Good mornin’ to you too, doc.” Cían came to a lazy halt past the doctor’s office and leaned against it as he studied Vitaly’s attempt at order with a barely concealed snort of amusement. He’d been patched up well by the castle’s medical staff following Dmitri’s attack on the Russian councilman – Cían’s last minute close shave with martyrdom had been a hedonistic gamble; a risky move for the sake of substantial long-term gain if all went to plan. Naturally, it had, and now he found himself without a collar and some genuine independence for the first time in well over a century. Even if it had meant deceiving a few folks once or twice along the way, it’d been a worthwhile venture.
Cían eyed the younger hound with a muffled laugh after a beat. “Down, boy. ‘m not here to take up your time. Was on the way to the gym an’ was passing. I’ve been wanting to say thanks in person to the department for piecin’ me back together after the whole…” his voice trailed off as he mimed the explosion, sound effects included. “…thing. So, yeah, thanks a million for doin’ what you did– well, collective you, y’know, like– look, Florian was busy an’ your door was open. Don’t shoot the messenger.” Pausing, Cían eyed the tote curiously and leaned in a little closer to get a better look at the contents. “You need someone to take all this off your hands?”
He would be advocating, heavily for the spot of head doctor back. Vitaly wasn't exactly kind and didn't have the best bedside manner but the stock room looked like hell. Banging could be heard from it as he began rearranging the items to best suit his need. He'd gone only to become a better doctor, to improve his techniques. A small tour of the mayo clinic's specialty burn unit. When he returned, informed his position had been taken over, he wasn't hurt. But he sure as hell wasn't thrilled he'd have to answer to someone else. Chucking out useless items into a tote to take to the village later, Vitaly muttered under his breath. He heard steps approach the door and turned, still mildly irritated. "Da? You need help? We have nurses for reason. Go see one of them. This may take time." Though he wore a white coat, his gaze, tattoos, and demeanors left no room to debate that Vitaly wasn't feeling welcoming.

Over the space of twenty minutes, that was the length of time that Svetlana played with Sofie, as if she was a rag doll, easily sewn back together, as if everything she was doing wouldn't leave marks that could never be taken back. But the state of the woman was what she believed to be only phase one. Her eye, now more blood than pupil, stuck out: the mace hadn't been kind. And the paralytic they'd administered had done the job: although, she had to admit; it was nowhere near as fun when she wasn't fighting back.
An hour.
Two hours.
Five.
Nine.
At that time, Svetlana had worked like she was an artist with a paintbrush. The wreckage of her body was a show of how little she cared for human life, how little the whines of a woman trapped in her own body. Broken, bruised, cut up...a singular piece missing. Sveta carefully wrapped it in cloth, placing it into the box that was placed upon the metal tray beside her. "I know that it wore off a while ago. Are you still with us?" a cruel laugh followed, head cocking to the side as she used her arm to wipe at her brow.
A break from the headphones had only been granted, so when they were done, they could prolong it. But even Vitaly stood in the corner, uneasy in his features as he raised his chin. "Think we should take a break?"
A cutting look was all she gave him: shut the fuck up. Did I ask?
"Cut a Russian symbol into her hand...seeing as you want to question me."
Sofie squirmed away from the needle on instinct, even though she had nowhere to go to escape it. For the first time since she'd come to, her eyes widened and her heart was beating hard enough to burst out of her chest. Physical restraints, she could handle. But losing control over her own body?
She breathed fast and shallow was the paralytic spread through her body. First her fingers and toes stopped responding to her furtive commands and then her arms and even her breathing became automatic. Sofie tried to move her head from one side to another, but it was useless.
There was one spot on the wall in front of her that was darker than the rest. She focused on that one spot as headphones slid over her ears. If she just stared hard enough, she wasn't in a dingy, Russian torture space, but back on a beach in Miami. Even the ear splitting music faded away as her brain did. She wasn't here. She wasn't here. She wasn't here.

Whyte vs Parker: Dereck Chisora knocks out Carlos Takam | Boxing News
http://www.internetunleashed.co.uk/?p=23340 Whyte vs Parker: Dereck Chisora knocks out Carlos Takam | Boxing News - http://www.internetunleashed.co.uk/?p=23340 By James Dielhenn Last Updated: 28/07/18 10:43pm 4:20 Chisora was in fantastic form during and after the fight Chisora was in fantastic form during and after the fight Dereck Chisora incredibly knocked out Carlos Takam in a comeback victory that took the roof off The O2. The popular heavyweight was on the verge of defeat until he uncorked two colossal right hands in the eighth round - Takam, who took Anthony Joshua into the 10th round last year, was floored twice and could not recover on the second occasion. The mainstay of British boxing leapt on the ropes post-fight to soak in the feel-good atmosphere generated by a crowd who have followed his career for a decade and willed him into extending it further. Chisora was in serious danger inside the first round, which exploded into a brawl fought in his corner. Takam established himself as the bigger and stronger bully, pinning Chisora to the ropes and repeatedly hurting him with punches at close quarters.Chisora survived, enjoyed the crowd singing his name, and refused to sit down between rounds. Experienced Londoner Chisora needed every ounce of his toughness to get through the second round, built up through a gruelling career that has featured fights against Tyson Fury (twice), Vitali Klitschko, David Haye and Dillian Whyte. But Takam was hitting him too frequently.Chisora was savvy enough to stay in the fight into the middle rounds, by which time it became clear he was dangerous with single punches. The left hook, in particular, found a home in the fifth round. But Takam, who had been knocked out in the past by a hook from Alexander Povetkin, maintained a high work-rate that seemed to be wearing Chisora down.A sensational sixth round saw the fans willing Chisora, aged 34, to roll back the years - he was shipping punishment to the extent where the referee Howard Foster considered stopping the fight, but then showboated by relaxing on the ropes. Somehow, he ended the round as the aggressor. Then out of nowhere, an overhand right from Chisora clumped Takam on the top of his head in the eighth round. Takam got up but an identical punch hit him moments later and finished the fight.Chisora, clad in his trademark Union Jack across his face post-fight, earned the WBA international title and, in the context of his age and having gone 3-3 in his previous six outings, earned perhaps the result of his long career.
(a.s.) CAP.
“Was only stopping by to say hello. Would’ve said welcome back, but I didn’t want to assume the vibes of your return,” Rhys’ grin was full of boyish charm as he hung around the doorway, drumming his fingers rhythmically against it as he scanned his gaze over the returning doctor. “Thought I’d get the first non-proposition fuelled greeting of your return in before anyone else. You need a hand with anything? Sometimes the settling in period’s a little easier with an extra pair of hands, from one staff member to another.”

Venturing a little further in, Rhys snuck a glance at the troublesome display in question and made a quiet noise of sympathetic understanding at the sight. No wonder the poor doctor was at the brink; having any part of his office look anywhere as chaotic as Vitaly’s shelves did made Rhys almost nauseous. “You want a hand getting things orderly?” Waving a hand flippantly, Rhys’ telekinesis gently shifted a few bottles around until something beginning to resemble alphabetical order began to form. His magic paused at the hellhound’s words and Rhys glanced at Vitaly with a boyish grin, a one-shouldered shrug accompanying it. “You don’t look too terrible yourself– but out of all the years to head elsewhere, you definitely picked a good one. I take it you heard about the assassination attempts? We lost Spain and Portugal’s councilmen through them and even had a few attempts here that ended up requiring trials and threats of execution for those accused, but fortunately, nothing major. Other than that? Same old, same old. You’ve barely missed a thing. How was your time away? Bring back any nice souvenirs? I'm expecting a fridge magnet at the least.”
Vitaly sighed as he looked back to the shelves, hands on his hips. "You could point me in direction of moron who now stocks shelves. That would be good first step." He murmured as he looked at the mess. "You look like all's well since I've been gone." A year was hardly a long reprieve but for some, it felt like a lifetime. "Did I miss anything good? Or just same old same."
