       it was downright embarrassing. she tried not to show it on her face as she told the bartender to close her tab, all that anxiety and nerves to muster up the courage to go on this date, quickly shattered the minute that she got a text saying something came up....thirty minutes after he was supposed to be there. instantly, the first person who thought to vent to was phoenix, pulling up his texts and speaking into her phone for a voice memo to send his way, “well, as if this couldn’t get devastating enough, he bailed on me. i can’t believe i got out of my fuzzy pokemon pajama pants and got ready for this, it’s so humiliating. anywho, looks like it’s just me and gizmo, at least i know my dog won’t ditch me.” sighing, she hit send as she gathered her purse and walked out, not looking forward to the bus ride back to her stop near her home but it was what it was at this point.
