Welcome to my end of March 2024 update.
At last the weight is starting to build again. I’ve added 3lbs this last week and my body seems to be demanding more and more food on a daily basis.
Since changing my insulin dosages I am getting softer and flabbier and my love for growing my body has reached a new level.
I’ve outgrown my 3xl t-shirts and some of me 4XL tops don’t cover my belly entirely. Time to look for 4XLT or possibly even 5XLT so I have room to grow in to.
Want to help turn me in to a fucking huge blubber ball? Support me on Patreon and maybe consider looking at my Amazon wish list, I would really appreciate the help.
Now, it’s Easter Monday and I need to make sure I get my fill today to round off a weekend of gluttony and growth.
Remember, No Limits, No Regrets.

hi , my name is shroom , and i need help replacing my insulin ( again )
if you've been following my blog , you already know that my current living situation is incredibly toxic and unstable . a few months ago , i had to go and buy a new doorknob and a mini-fridge for my bedroom in order to keep my insulin safe . today , while running late for an appointment , i forgot to lock my door .
when i came back home , my room was absolutely destroyed , and the fridge was unplugged and flipped over . for three hours , the fridge was sitting on top of a vent pumping hot air into my room . when i checked my insulin pens , they were cloudy and very warm , which means it isn’t safe to use them anymore . i have two room - temperature pens with less than a week’s worth of dosages left .
i currently have $8 in my bank account . i need $70 total to be able to replace my insulin – $35 for three pens of both levemir and humalog . if anyone could spare a few dollars , it would mean the world to me !! even reblogging this and spreading the word is highly appreciated !!!
thank you so much for reading <3
$8 / $70

Diabetes Management during Pregnancy with Insulin
Tumblr media
Introduction
Pregnancy is a beautiful and exciting time for any women and her family, but it can also bring challenges, especially for those with diabetes. Managing diabetes during pregnancy is crucial to ensure the health and well-being of both mother and baby. This can be done by following various medical methods and procedures which are as follows;
I. Insulin Dosage during Pregnancy
During pregnancy, the body's insulin needs increase due to hormonal changes and the baby's growth. As a result, many women with diabetes need to adjust their insulin dosage during pregnancy. The insulin in pregnancy dosage should be determined by a healthcare provider and may need to be adjusted throughout the pregnancy.
It is essential to closely monitor the blood sugar levels and adjust the dosage accordingly; this will help prevent potential complications for both mother and baby.
II. Diabetes Management Guidelines during Pregnancy
The management of diabetes in pregnancy guidelines recommend close monitoring of blood sugar levels and regular check-ups with a healthcare provider. This includes regular prenatal visits and visits with a diabetes educator or dietitian.
A diabetes management plan should include regular physical activity and a healthy diet. This will help keep the blood sugar level in check and prevent potential complications.
Monitoring for gestational diabetes is also important. This is a form of diabetes that develops during pregnancy and usually goes away after the baby is born. However, it increases the risk of complications such as pre-eclampsia and macrosomia, a condition where the baby is more significant than usual..
III. Managing Diabetes during the First Trimester
The first trimester of pregnancy is crucial as the body's insulin needs rapidly change during this time. Close monitoring and frequent adjustments to insulin dosage may be necessary during this period.
This period is considered the most vulnerable time in diabetes management, as a small mistake can cause serious complications.
IV. Insulin Intake during Pregnancy
Insulin intake during pregnancy must be closely monitored. It's essential to keep track of the dosage, timing, type of insulin used, and any changes to the insulin regimen.
This information should be shared with healthcare providers to ensure appropriate adjustments are made. This will help prevent potential complications and ensure the safety of both mother and baby.

@themonstracerock Hi!! Hope this is okay 🥺 I'm so happy you like them. Here's something I cooked up pretty quick.
CW: Needles, talk of blood (very brief), medical talk
Tumblr media
“Are you sure you want to do it yourself this time?” Aether asks, looking at Rain with a tiny bit of concern as he hands the ghoul his insulin pen.
Rain smiles a little and rolls his eyes playfully.
He takes a needle from the box of them that Aether has and leaves the infirmary room.
Aether watches him go, shoving his hands into his pocket and biting his cheek. He decides then to keep a tab open in his brain to keep track of his bond with Rain. Not trusting entirely that the water ghoul can handle his dosages this time.
Rain’s always had the habit of either dosing too high or too low before he goes to bed. So he could very well either drop suddenly or keep rising in the night and end up feeling sick in the morning or a couple hours later.
Aether sits back down in his chair in front of his desk and continues working on paperwork from earlier that day.
Meanwhile, Rain gets ready for bed after a busy day. He ran around with Mountain outside in the gardens, he “practiced” with Dew in the band room and he spent some time with Swiss after dinner.
He stepped out of his bathroom and ambled over to the small desk in his room that's situated by the window. He placed his pen there with the needle attached.
Before he dialed up the dose, his brain tried reminding him subtly by automatically glancing over at the small black pouch that was at the very corner end of the desk.
His blood sugar tester..
Rain's tail swished with a small bit of anxiety, biting his lip. He really really didn't want to prick his finger. But he knew he needed to, in able to make sure he was dosing correctly..
But.. he felt fine? Not high but not particularly low either. Just.. fine.
“Ehhh” he waved it off, deciding against the painful pricking option and just going with his gut. He drew up the dosage and that was it.
Rain went to bed, 100% confident in his body.
A couple hours later, about 4 AM.
Aether's bond to Rain suddenly felt very limp and he noticed a certain smell to it. Sour, damp.
“Shit..” Aether hissed, getting up quickly.
He quickly grabbed a juice box from his mini fridge before leaving the infirmary quickly. Speed walking down the hall towards Rain's room, almost tripping over his own feet in the process.
Once there, Aether didn't even bother knocking. Opening the door and peering in.
Rain was already sitting up in his bed.. but he was looking to the floor. One of his legs were bouncing, his tail wrapped around his other leg tightly. Aether could see it shaking.
“Lilypad? I felt you drop..”
Rain finally looked up at Aether when hearing him. His face was panicked, scared, guilty.
“Aether.. I'm sorry I should've–”
Aether was already on his knees in front of Rain before he could finish, “It's okay Rainy, it's okay– I'll take care of you” he took Rain's hands in his own. They were shaking.
Aether squeezed them gently before letting go and getting up, spotting his tester on his desk and grabbing it.
“I'm sorry.. I should've tested before hand.. I'm so sorry for making you do this..” Rain's voice broke. Feeling so guilty about all of this he started crying.
Aether got back down on his knees, gently taking Rain's right hand. Finding the finger he usually used for this.
“Ready baby?” Aether carefully placed the poker in the center of Rain's ring finger.
Rain swallowed the lump in his throat before nodding, flinching when Aether poked him.
He whimpered more when Aether had to squeeze a bit to get a good amount of blood for his glucose monitor to grab. Rain didn't realize he was holding his breath until the monitor finally beeped and he exhaled in a rush.
The quintessence ghoul smiled fondly and rubbed Rain's palm comfortingly, “That's it baby.. good job”.
Rain watched as the meter buffered for a minute before it read off his blood sugar, 46.
Aether whistled in shock, “Yeah that's low..”
“I know.. I'm sorry Aether”
“Stop apologizing,” Aether reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the juice box “I like taking care of you love, you're not a burden”
Aether poked the straw through the box and then handed it to Rain. Helping the shaking ghouls hands to hold the box steady as he drank it down.
Aether felt as his bond to Rain strengthened again. Which made both of them sigh in relief. Rain's tail untangled itself from his leg gradually as his sugar raised back to normal again. His other leg stopped bouncing, resting now.
“I'm going to stay with you the rest of the night, that okay tadpole?” Aether's voice was soft and quiet when he asked him. Rubbing Rain's wrist softly.
Rain's eyes lit up and he smiled softly, “That'd be great, Aeth..”

you with your engineering degree is like me with my biochemistry degree re: suggesting that all national medication shortages could be solved by letting people homebrew the drugs in their basement. like maybe it is just easier to standardize and track stuff on an industrial scale, unrelated to anyone in big pharma lining their pockets off it?
let alone the research that goes into discovering and trialling the drugs in the first place. bonus points if they also suggest that animal trials are inhumane anyway lol. it's like they're suggesting, what if our entire pharmaceutical sector was run by r/researchchemicals, but worse?
oh man you must have this so much worse than i do, at least with mechanical engineering issues the problems are rooted in physics that the average person has at least some familiarity with (on account of existing in the physical world and using physics to do, like, literally anything). but chemistry mostly happens at a level too small for people to actually see, which means that people either 1. treat it like magic or 2. pull some Four Thieves Vinegar Collective shit and start brewing insulin in bathtubs and tut-tutting anyone raising concerns about petty things like "contaminants" and "purity" and "consistent dosage". actually now that i think about it this is mostly an anarchist thing where they assume they can just abolish the entire pharmaceuticals industry and replace it with, like, horse-piss-derived estrogen distilleries in every commune. to quote @exeggcute 's reply on my last post: "chesterton's fence babyyyyyy"

Random headcannon #987
Severus is a feminist and a champion to one he decides to love.
In the U.S. alone close to an estimated 6 million women suffer from PCOS (myself included) , this does not include those that have not been diagnosed.
****************************
Severus would absolutely be appalled and down right foaming at the mouth when he finds his woman curled up on the bathroom floor crying from pain.
Severus (Concerned, bends down to help you): Darling, what is the matter? Are you hurt? Talk to me?
Y/N (whimpering and writhing in pain): yea, I'm OK. A cyst probably burst. I already took the maximum dose of acetaminophen for today. So hopefully it will take the edge off.
Severus (worried about you): what? What do you mean a cyst has ruptured?! Where?! Max dosage? Woman, that's about 2000mg!
Y/N (grunts and pants through the wave of pain): An ovarian cyst probably burst, and/or I'm having severe menstrual cramps. Yea, short of prescription pain killers, that's what I have on hand. Don't worry I made sure to eat so it doesn't fuck me up more.
Severus could only listen in horror. His woman looked and sounded like she was dying, and all she explained was that a cyst, an ovarian cyst at that exploded internally, and she said was it's was ok?!
Severus: Lovey, we need to get you to the hospital. (Helps Y/N into the room)
Y/N: no, that's OK. They won't do anything. The most they will do is maybe a scan, blood work, and maybe ibuprofen before sending me home with instructions to rest, use a heating pad, and more Tylenol. It's not worth the cost of the visit. I'll fine Sev, honest. Not the first time it's happened and won't be the last.
Severus (mouth dropped open, aghast): what?! What. Do. You. Mean. They. Won't. Do. Anything. You're literally agonizing in pain. They have to do something, they just can't dismiss your problems. It's happened before? When? Why? How?
Y/N (Climbs into bed and curls up): Severus, baby, I hate to break it to you, the medical community don't give a shit about us women. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS. There is no cure and only like 4-5 medicinal options to manage the symptoms. It took me nearly 20 years to recieve a diagnosis. Dr's called me crazy, depressed, hallucinating, that everything was normal.
Severus felt white hot anger course through his veins. His Y/N was in clear pain, distress, and who knows what else. The muggle doctors failed to help his love.
Severus asked y/n many questions in regards to it until he saw she was nodding off to sleep, the pain finally retracting enough. His mind was already running with possible potion ideas. He needed more information. He walked over to the small library y/n had built over time and pulled every book she had on PCOS. By the 3rd book it was obvious to him, that the information was repeating/recycling itself:
-hormonal problem -uncontrollable weight gain -excess body and facial hair(all the depilatory supplies made more sense) -female patterned hair loss(it explained why she always wore her hair up and always with a hat or scarf) -depression -super heavy and painful menstrual cycles or lack of one -cysts developing not just internally but also outwardly -infertility -high insulin levels
Treatments: hormone contraceptives, metformin or other type 2 diabetic medications, spironolactone or other hair growth inhibiting medications, losing weight, and excersize.
Severus peaked into the bedroom when he heard y/n whimper in her sleep. Another cramp of pain was hitting. His grip on the book tightened until it started to smoke and smolder from his magic, acting to his emotions. Taking a deep breath to calm himself, he weighed his options. He would have to delve into extensive research. What good was his potions mastery if he didn't utilize it. The rest of the weekend was spent with him taking care of y/n through what seemed to him a very hard and agonizing menstrual cycle.
^food in bed ^long soaks in the bathtub with his own personal muscle relaxant ^snacks and chocolate galore ^pampering of every kind you could think of
Once y/n was right as rain, Severus consumed research like a man possessed. Muggle medical reports, studies, and pharmaceuticals. Hell, he even researched for it in the magical world. Boy, was he sorely disappointed. If he thought muggle medicine was lack luster in regards to PCOS, then the magical community was left in the dust! Nothing, zip, zero, nada was found in correlation to PCOS. There is nothing to even address the barest of symptoms! Severus had never been so....so......so......horrified! Armed with rage, spitefulness, and indignation on behalf of y/n, Severus plunges into the world of the unknown for PCOS. Experimental potions safe for muggle use, others for the witches. Thankfully, he has some basis from when he modified the wolfsbane potion. As his research progressed, he discovered that the magical birth rates were low due to not only the inbreeding for blood purity, but in actuality, PCOS was also common amongst the magical woman folk. This led him down another rabbit hole that played on genetics.
After many failed results, Severus managed to find the right combination for y/n. It wasn't a cure by any means of the imagination, but it was far cry from the plebian options offered. His elixir, taken consistently, would lower the excess androgen levels and keep the cortisol level low. It worked better than the aforementioned muggle drugs. He still had problems finding a solution to the whole ovulating problem without causing severe side effects worse than the muggle drugs, but by the gods, he was working on it. Y/N's hair was already growing back fuller, thicker, healthier. Even the beard and mustache she let herself grow out for the sake of research (and laziness. Why should she worry about her beard if it didn't bother Severus. If anything, he was slightly jelly at how glorious hers was; it wasn't fair) had begun to thin out, practically patchy in some spots. But most importantly, to Severus, seeing the how y/n flourished, the femininity of her unrestrained from the dismorphia caused by PCOS. Free from the debilitating pain and suffering. It was breath taking, it made everything he had done worth it to see his love and hopefully the rest of the women population heard and seen.
