Yep.
We also need to talk about the fact that those Christian centric views (which has already taken a lot from other religions, especially Jews’) are often a bastardized version of what Christianity is supposed to be and how they are being used manipulatively by people in all walks of life to not only justify their actions, but also absolve themselves of responsibility. I’m not joking when I say a lot of Christians hear “We’re God’s chosen people” because there is this ingrained envy/jealousy against Jews.
People heard/saw/were taught “The Good Samaritan” parable story and instead of learning/understanding “I should show basic human decency even to those I hate/have been taught to hate. Dehumanizing people is not the way.” Instead, a lot of people thought “Hmm. The lesson to learn is that someone should rescue me when I’m on the side of the road. If they don’t, they’re not good like us Christians.”
You know how many people don’t know what a Samaritan is but expect to constantly be rescued by one. A lot. Which is quite ironic considering the amount of Jew hatred going on.
crazy how 2,000 years of being fed "jews are untrustworthy two faced liars" will make people instinctively think jews are liars and have their gut reaction to jews talking about judaism be "assume they're lying." or maybe these are two unrelated phenomena that have no impact on each other and the gentile instinct to distrust the jew has nothing to do with thousands of years of antisemitism they've internalized.
#A lot of people have gotten really comfortable with openly hating jews#you know the story of the widow giving her last two coins#instead of learning equity≠equality/quiet acts without demanding recognition is better than attention seeking acts#they think “I going to make a big deal out of this because I deserve a pat on the back. I don’t think enough people noticed.”#don’t even get me started on the feeling of an upcoming shakedown when that verse or music come out
