WIP Wednesday

I was tagged by two lovelies, @yossariandawn and @alwaysupatnight, last week to post a wip (thank you so much for tagging me btw 🤗💖), but I didn’t have anything to show last week, and I still don’t lmao. I wanted to post a snippet from Off the Grid, but I haven’t gotten to the part that I really, really wanna write, yet (and I’m also still working on the characters sheet thing @belorage tagged me in and it’s been taking me so long because I’m still trying to figure out my characters 😆 So that’s probably why I haven’t really been in the writing mood lately); so idk, here’s a snippet of the mechanic!seth sequel I’ve rewritten that I worked on last month and haven’t gotten around to updating. And, yeah, this draft is still trash, but it’s a whole lot better than what I originally wrote lmfao.

He slumps forward against her as he tries to recover and releases his hand from her lips to cup her face gently as Kate's chest rises and falls from each deep breath she takes in.

"You are full of surprises, little lady," Seth says with his mouth pressing against her cheek, and Kate gives a weak little chuckle before turning her head to capture his lips.

He doesn't stay long on the couch with her, as much as he wants to, as he gets up to throw the condom away in the trash can and pulls up his jeans–the sound of his buckle jingling from each pull. He glances at the mess he's made on her; the opening of her messy blouse turned and switched to the left where he can see her white bra on display, her luscious hair tousled, mascara still racing down to her cheeks and her red lipstick smeared around her lips to a natural pink–in which most of the red is left stained on the palm of his hand. She doesn't complain, which he half expected; instead, she sits up straight to fix her shirt and grabs a makeup wipe from her bag to wipe her face clean, and the corners of his mouth curl up as he shakes his head.

"Think you might've added a couple more scars to my back than last time," he comments while he wipes his hand with a rag, and then adds, "Thanks for the condom," while handing her back her clothes from the floor.

"Well, I figured you wouldn't have any in your office, since, from what I remembered, you had your rule of keeping it clean," she says while pulling her shorts up to her hips.

"Had," he repeats as he slips his shirt on.

"What made you change your mind?" she asks.

"You." Kate turns with her eyes fixated on him while the pregnant pause fills the room, and Seth quickly clears his throat, trying to clear the air of the awkwardness he created, and stammers while fixing up the flannel collar around his neck, "Uh, I wondered if I was ever gonna see you again.”
