Neapolitan Lace

Neapolitan Lace stitch pattern from the January 1884 issue of Ballou’s Monthly Magazine. It’s reversible! I found the magazine on Google Books a few years ago, but The Weekly Stitch also blogged the stitch pattern on March 31, 2023.

After about five months, I picked up my Neon shawl again to finally knit the edge. If everything goes well, I "only" have 19 more tips to knit in each color ... Me ha entusiasmado tejer estos preciosos calcetines! Last button sewed on and last end woven in! I can't be happier about this make. I knit it back and forth, no steek. And it actually turned out perfectly fine. As a bonus I can now comfortably throw with my left hand. Three colors over one round was definitely a challenge. But slow and steady wins the race. Pattern: Vintersol by @knit.love.wool Yarn: Lettlopi and Järbo 3-tr and some handspun. About 1k meters all in all. (most of it bought at @garnhyllan) Thanks @garnharvan (#ghdrömmenkal) for making me finally start this project! Ps. Glittens

These are glittens—mittens with a forefinger—a design of my mother’s published in Homespun, Handknit back in the 80s. It’s a comfort knit for me, and we’ve had such cold weather that I pulled the brightest worsted weight yarn I could from my stash to knit another pair.
