Challenge Coin friction wear and enamel fragility in an EDC environment. Yeah...they are real things and continuing on the theme from my late post yesterday. They will happen when you actually carry a typical challenge coin everyday. It's part of how we know we know that 99% of the #challengecoin posts claiming #edc carry are #marketing #schtick and nothing more. Before a flurry of posts appear trying to climb bs pretty much the only exception is a raw base metal which sports no post process finishing or coins sporting #phoenixchallengecoinsarmor and #phoenixchallengecoinsarmorshield finishes. If you had your coin plated only and no enamel...it'll still come out looking more like a badly beaten prizefighter than anything exceptionally photogenic. Oh I keep mine in a #pvccase....it mitigates some scratch, ding and abrasion wear....for a short period. Oh I keep mine in a leather wallet/coinholder....it mitigates some scratch, ding and abrasion wear and seriously increases friction wear on the plating and chipping with displacement of enamel.... We can go on and on One method which can work are hard acrylic cases...until theychip or shard and those damage your coin or you. Additionally they are uncomfortable and ungainly to carry!
