thinking about one of the prides being in the midst of domesticating a bird population...

like. there's so little jump to get from "hey these tasty birds really like seeds from this plant" to "hey let's start collecting the seeds ourselves to feed them and make them get close to us" to "hey these things are kinda cute and if you aren't hunting them they kinda just hang out nearby" to "they are ours now. this ones named pinky and we love her so we'll eat her last :)"
