Typically soulmates don't feel the other person's pain. They can tell they are in pain, yes, but if they're not in a war zone or getting constantly traumatized, the bond won't 'Level up'.

Trauma is the key, and some people are lucky enough to not have much of it. Andrew and Neil are not included in that category.

I just recently discovered that this had turned into a series (which is still ongoing! yay!) after rereading the first fic and you bet that I read through those so fast. Love this premise! It also goes very in-depth about the trauma behind the ‘soulmates feeling each others pain’ trope, especially relevant for our poor boyos.

Pretty fluffy if you ask me. A little on the shorter side but such a nice trope, for some reason radio show host fics always feel really comfy to me!

There was plenty of loose cash in his wallet, but not a single personal item of any manner. No ID. No bank card. No pictures of girlfriends or family. Not even an old receipt stuffed in the bottom.

At the very least, life hadn’t disappointed him with how shitty things could get.

He’s sitting cross-legged on the edge of the long dock stretching out into the small cove, looking down into the dark, churning water. Wind whips at his cheeks, and he has to keep a palm around his cigarette to keep it lit. The waves push at the wooden posts of the dock like a threat. All of this is fine. Andrew doesn’t come here for peace.

This one deals in angsty disabled Neil and I loved every second of it! Give my boy his bodily autonomy back!
