it's kind of weird I don't think I've watched supernatural for maybe two years, and I probably won't rewatch for a while because it took me maybe a year for me to watch it (fun fact, I did my rewatch (s1-10) the month that the show ended, and I watched s11 to 15 for the first time ever) yet I still read and write fanfic, and engage with fandom stuff, but like I wonder if the Cas and Dean that live in my head are different from Cas and Dean in the show too? Because sure I'm taking inspiration when writing fics from the show and how jenmish have portrayed destiel, but at the same time, there might be character divergences? It's kind of like yes there's the show's deancas but then there's our deancas.

I think there’s always a difference between the canon characters and their fanon characterisations, generally and among factions of fans both. But especially for a long running show like supernatural with so many showrunners and episode writers, not even canon dean and cas are consistently written. “He wouldn’t fucking do that” is a sentiment people feel for example about much of dean’s in show treatment of jack. So yeah the cas and dean that live in your head are different, too. Your view of dean and cas when writing them is influenced by so many things (canon events, other fics, meta posts, headcanons, fanon, …) but there isn’t one definitive way to write them correctly or anything. I don’t know if you consider it a problem but keep doing you!

you don't understand, stanning those old actor men is essential for my survival because a) jackles makes me feel so much better about being deranged about spn because I can always count on him being more deranged about it than me and b) misha fucking up constantly and embarrassing himself to the max gives me strength to be my embarrassing self freely <3

Welp I finally went to a convention irl and it exceeded my wildest imagination. I'll be sharing more stories and updates but here are my ops from the weekend. Credit to Chris Schmelke the wonderful photographer.

One thing I always heard and knew but didn't really understand was just how fast each ops was. With Tim O I had a chance to tell him how I love his little dance to "I'm too sexy" from Psych, but when I got to my jenmish ops I freaked out and ran away after the two pics, i didn't even say thank you 😭 it's so nerve wracking. So if you've never gone and you are nervous, expect that you'll forget every single word in your brain.

Also, being reference pics to give to the handlers so they can pose everyone! I would put my reference pics on my phone lock screen (because you're not allowed to have your phones out and I didn't wanna stress about unlocking it while I was in line). This worked wonders. I know others have success with note cards, I'm a crap artist so that wasn't gonna help.

Reference photos for some of my ops are below. I didn't know what to do with Rob and Ruthie so I had them play devil and angel on my shoulder.

My first jenmish ops was inspired by the Halloween photoshoot - once I get jpegs I'm gonna try and Photoshop the background.

And I was floundering for my jm2 ops since mark was a surprise, so I ended up buying a pie and grabbing a friend (thanks @tessalyn for joining me) to recreate the pie fight photoshoot. I was walking around with a pie all day and someone called me "the lady with the pie" which is a horrible nickname to have when you're only in your 30 😭.

During the recent jenmish meet and greet , which replaced the j2 one at vancon, Jensen was asked if it was about cas . He said , no, Steve wrote most of it, and for jensens part , he was writing it about something else , but he can see why people think it could be about cas , and maybe he was subconsciously influenced by spn. THAT is what dot is shouting about. Aka - another ��you can have your interpretation” answer . Steve on a zoom call said he always imagined it being about a creepy angel you don’t want watching over you .

I remembered seeing discussion of this at the time, so I tracked down some posts for context. Here's a transcript of Steve's answer about the song including reference to being inspired by SPN and the 'creepy angel you don't want watching over you' bit [X]. Here's a discussion of the Jensen response from that M&G and how/why Goob was behind spreading lies as to what was actually said [X].

To be fair, it's exactly what I'd expect to be backing claims of something being undeniable from ol' dotty. Tell that lot five times what something is actually intended to be about and it goes in one ear and out the other, but say it has multiple possible meanings just once? A-HA! D/C is canon/what the song is about/the center of the universe! OMG PROOF (or "evidence" in this case). So undeniable!!!

There's a reason why their reports of what Jensen says in M&Gs and autos and ops is completely different from what he says openly in public. According to them, it's always some deep conspiracy where he has to hide The Truth for now from [pick one: the network, Jared, the audience, Santa Claus]. According to us and objective reality, the reason is they've been proven to be lying liars who lie over and over again.

Kim, Bri, Tahmoh, Adam and David were all especially amazed by & commented on the art I brought to get signed (and were very appreciative of the prints I made for them to keep) and I’m just *sobs quietly*. Misha had to stare for a while when he paused and really looked at the Godstiel piece, and asked if I did it and was like “Wow.” I really wished his auto line didn’t go so fast so I could have properly thanked him for all the inspiration he’s given me with my art this past year, but maybe today at the M&G. (I ended up getting my Dean with the handprint piece signed by Jensen, even though I don’t have the companion Cas piece signed yet. Next con I see Misha at, maybe. Jensen just blinded me with his in-person-prettiness and I just bluescreened and couldn’t say anything but thank you as they moved us along. I don’t know how I’m going to survive the JenMish photo op today and since I wasn’t planning on being able to get one I have no idea what to do for it except hope for a hug sandwich from one/both.) Oh and if you were at the Tahmoh panel and heard someone scream their head off when asked, if there was an older show he’d like to see revived with a part for him he said “Homicide: Life on the Street”? Yeah that was me. I ended up telling him he would made a great HLOTS detective and he is just...*sigh*

Hi!! Thank you so much for sending me this ask because I used to watch sooo much Dan and Phil and even though I wasn't watching them at the time, I was so excited when they came out :)

That is a nice imagine though! I don't think it would ever happen...but if Misha ever made a post making it clear he was not straight I would be very happy. I don't need anyone to publicly express their sexuality, but Misha's following is so big and lgbtq+ that it would be really inspiring for him to do that and could help many others ❤️
