Cặp đôi Canada và hành trình 1.000 ngày chèo thuyền

Chỉ với vài vật dụng quan yếu cùng một chú chó, Jennifer Gosselin và Pierre Pepin đang thực hiện hành trình 1.000 ngày chèo thuyền vượt qua chặng đường dài hơn 24.000 km.

Dành hơn nhì năm để đi thuyền chỉ với một số vật dụng quan yếu nghe có vẻ như một cực hình. Tuy nhiên cặp đôi người Canada Jennifer Gosselin, Pierre Pepin đã lên kế hoạch và quyết tâm thực hiện chuyến đi này cùng chú chó Jasmine của họ.

Pepin và Gosselin quyết định bán căn nhà ở TP Quebec, xe ôtô cùng hồ hết tài sản để mở đầu chuyến đi 1.000 ngày trên thuyền nhưng mà họ tự đặt tên là “NorAm Odyssey”. Họ lên đường chuyến đi này vào ngày 6/6/2014, mở đầu từ phía bắc của bán đảo Michigan’s Lower cho tới bờ hồ Michigan của nước Mỹ. Trước đó cặp đôi từng đi du lịch xuyên Canada trong vòng 80 ngày. Điểm dừng trước tiên của họ là công viên Charles Mears State ở Pentwater, Mỹ. Họ đã cắm trại nghỉ và lên kế hoạch tới được Florida vào cuối tháng 11.

Để thực hiện kế hoạch dự trù sẽ kéo dài hơn 24.000 km, họ sẽ phải chèo liên tục khoảng 48 km một ngày, 5 tới 6 ngày một tuần. Trên đường đi, bên cạnh tập trung chèo thuyền, họ còn muốn gặp gỡ được nhiều người. Pepin san sớt rằng: “Chúng tôi không có ý định lập kỷ lục. Việc chèo thuyền mới chỉ là cách tạo lập một chuyến đi, loài người mới chính là yếu tố làm nên ý nghĩa của chuyến đi đó”. Pepin còn cho biết những người họ từng gặp trong các chuyến đi lần trước đã tương trợ nhì người rất nhiều, từ việc cho đi nhờ, ở nhờ, tới đồ ăn, họ tốt bụng tới “khó tin”.

Pepin và Gosselin từng có những chuyến đi bằng thuyền dài ngày cùng nhau. Họ nhận ra cuộc sống thường ngày của mình không hề thoải mái, mọi người đều đi làm với một tâm trạng khó chịu. Pepin cho biết: “Vậy nên tôi và Gosselin đã quyết định bỏ tất cả. Cách duy nhất nhưng mà chúng tôi có thể làm đó là đem theo cả khăn gói lên thuyền và chèo cùng”.

nhì người chỉ mang một chiếc lều, một bộ đồ nấu và vài bộ quần áo thay đổi, ngoài ra là phiên bản đồ và GPS để trải nghiệm hành trình bằng những tri thức họ có. Pepin và Gosselin đã kết hôn được hơn 8 năm. Họ từng lưỡng lự khi quyết định tiếp tục chuyến đi dài này nhưng cả nhì sẽ cùng hòa giải những vướng mắc dựa trên sự tin tưởng lẫn nhau.

Thực hiện chuyến đi 1.000 ngày bằng thuyền đối với nhì người không phải là một quyết định quá nan giải do họ đã có những trải nghiệm tương tự cùng nhau. Cặp đôi này san sớt: “Dù cho đi phi cơ hay thuyền, ở hotel hay ngủ lều thì hãy luôn tận dụng chuyến đi để làm giàu phiên bản thân, nhất là những người chưa có nhiều kinh nghiệm”. Pepin khuyến khích mọi người: “Ai cũng có thể làm được cho nên hãy ngừng ngay việc tìm lý do ngăn quý khách thực hiện ý muốn của phiên bản thân”.
