i think the reason why people say oripathy doesnt work as a real life disability analogue is because it gives people/boosts the ability to cast fucking like fireballs and lightning bolt and most of the disabled rep in the game is through RI who is mostly offhandedly mentioned to provide free treatment to anyone but you only get a name and a face and a place to be if your rocks disease gives you exceptional magic powers. not to say every bit of it can be completely dismissed but you know the game reaaaallly is never keen on granting much dignity to people who are “weak” or not special and sometimes seems to deem them a sort of waste of resources and effort (in that it shows ‘realistic’ catastrophic effects of ‘focusing’ on them and neither confirms nor denies the viewpoint) and I can see why disabled ppl might just not super resonate with the rep
