A Seiyuu You'd Watch in Anything

TL;DR: I have watched a ton of anime based off cast, but I wouldn't recommend doing the same! I lot of the anime I've come across are stinkers, and I put a few in the examples.

I definitely don't have a singular seiyuu I'd watch it in *anything*, and I might have in the past, but those were usually to do with overall cast and ensemble rather than a singular voice actor. I put *anything* because there are some lines even I have. For one, I'm not watching hardcore ecchi. I draw the line at Gotoubun and other things like that. However, if I like the cast and the premise seems like something up my alley, I will watch it. Here are some examples of shows I watched primarily because of cast:

Gotoubun no Hanayome

This was genuinely good, but the manga took a turn near the end that I felt a bit cheated of. Anyways, good anime.

Inobato

This was a solid anime. I don't recall a whole lot from it, but I can respect it more than one of the voice actors I watched it for.

D-Frag

This was more of a comedy. I don't get the romance aspects of this, but apparently, it was supposed to be a romance? Anyway, still a good anime (just noticed while editing that the last three have all been harem heh)

Devils Line

I genuinely don't remember anything from this anime besides Akira Ishida's character going, "These eye bags? They're not because I'm a vampire, they're because I'm an otaku." That resonated with me. Besides that, this is pretty much the same vibe as Vampire Knight or Diabolik Lovers or something. I don't know.

Fukumenkei Noise

I can't even remember what this anime was about. I just remember thinking, "Their eyes are way too big. This isn't even 2000s KyoAni, the heck?"

Kamigami no Asobi

I literally watched a video on this recently and didn't remember anything. I just remember that Saori Hayami was the main character, Miyu Irino was one of the main guys, and Hosoya played Loki.

Uramichi Oniisan

The cast carries the show on its back, and it knows that. The jokes are pretty repetitive, but I stuck around because the voice cast continually made it funny.

Honestly, most anime I watch has cast taken into consideration, but I usually have to be more picky due to my schedule. However, I can't recommend this enough, but do not watch anime based on the voice cast. I accidentally watched a hentai once. I was scarred.

ok so. I love this show called Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de. Often shortened to just Inou-Battle. Otherwise knows as “When Supernatural Battles Become Commonplace.” It’s on the more obscure side, I think. Not obscure enough that it didn’t get an anime adaptation but obscure enough that A) The light novels don’t have any widely available fan or official translations as far as I know B) Neither does the manga and C) The anime didn’t sell well enough to merit a season 2. So yeah. I’m a little pissed that there are barely any translations available. I really wanna read the rest of the story and I don’t want to have to become fluent in Japanese to finally be able to read them in all their glory. If I happen to be wrong about this, and I sure fucking hope I am, feel free to correct me. Until then, au revoir.

*There’s a term used by a character in this video. Galge = [rough definition] A dating sim involving multiple girls; basically an otome game for straight guys

This is a clip from Inobato (I don’t have time to type out the full romaji and English name. I’ll put it in the tags if they pop up). I recently found out (long after watching it) that Nobu and Hosoya have another shared anime (besides the lots that they have already). Technically, Hosoya’s character only makes a cameo, but their interaction kind of stuck with me because Nobu’s character said something along the lines of “He chooses anime based on voice actors!” Well... I chose to watch this because Nobu and Saori were in it.

Another piece of irony, the character played by Nobu makes fun of Hosoya’s character for playing a dating sim, but you know who else Nobu played?

Saori Hayami promotes Kohei Nagashii's manga “Hoshino Me o Tsubutte” and manages to say in 353 words in under 30 seconds.

Manga Plot Summary: “The story follows Hoshino, a popular girl who appears gorgeous with make-up but actually has an extremely plain face.
