So this a run down of Shawna’s ouat verse with much much help from @innocentiaperdita​ and ties in with her sister’s ouat verse at @wiickedmagic.  

Shawna is the daughter of a sailor and a fairy, her Father used to collect and sneak away “treasures” on his travels, one of them being a box of matches that was claimed to be magic. When he died, Shawna came in possession of his things including that magical box of matches as well as letters that revealed that her Father had a child with another woman. The matches imbued with magic are able to open portals taking the user to their heart’s desire. Shawna used them, at first to try and find her long lost sister but came up with nothing. She then decided to use the matches to travel this world and others, learning the limitations of her matches and getting into trouble along the way.

Her Matches only work for the pure of heart, because with dark hearts, self interest always gets in the way of their true desire. 

She has become a thief and finder of the unfindable since going out on her own. She has taken up employment with people like the Dark One, Black Beard and Bo Peep. 

There are places with powerful enough magic that keep her portals out, Neverland for example. 

She came to Storybrooke after the year everyone forgot, and was reunited with her sister after the curse brought her to land without magic. Unfortunately, she’s found there isn’t enough magic to make her matches work, and she’s stuck there as much as the rest of the town.

Some random Neal headcanons I’ve been musing on 

Neal isn’t claustrophobic per say, but he gets antsy staying in one room/indoors for too long. It developed during Rumple’s time as the Dark One since he didn’t like Neal being outside without him because of the amount of enemies he had. 

Neal does smoke and has a history of starting and quitting. Emma knew this when they meant. Tamara knew it and hated it, so Neal tried to quit but often times ended up sneaking away because she couldn’t stand the smell. When Neal learned about Henry, he really really tries hard to quit or at the very least tries to not let Henry see him because he wants to be a good example. 

He can’t sleep at night, and doesn’t like too. Neal still gets nightmares about falling through portals and will force himself to stay up until his body kind of passes out for himself. When he has insomnia or wakes up in the middle of the night from nightmares, Neal will just leave the room all together and go walking around Storybrooke regardless of the hour/weather. Sometimes if Rumple catches him, he’ll stay and talk to his Dad but never about the bad dreams. Occasionally on his treks around town he’ll go to Granny’s, she keeps the dinners open late on Full Moon’s for Ruby.

Neal lives with Rumple for a short time after the Neverland arc but feel’s like he’s encroaching on Belle and Rumple’s space, especially in the verses where he survives and see’s them get married. In most verses he rents a place out with @innocentiaperdita‘s Flynn Rider/Jensen because they’re practically brothers ya’ll
