fic rec! 62K College AU. Puzzleshipping

Summary: After a very rocky year, Yuugi is looking forward to a fresh start at Domino University. Then he finds his dorm room window faces another dorm room window, and he meets Atem Sennen. Atem is only at this university because his cousin Seto got in legal trouble and needed some help. He happens to be very glad he came.

Comments: Oooo, the drama and tension in this! It's set up right away that Yugi and Seto have beef, even if both of them have only told Atem vague details. I lived for that reveal, reading each new chapter as soon as it hit my inbox, and it did not disappoint. Atem is super supportive, Yuugi has the best friends, and yes. Punches thrown.

Reccing this again after a reread. The gut clench as Atem realizes where he went wrong gets me every time.

fic rec! 7.5K Puzzleshipping, modern AU

Summary: After an argument one rainy night, Yuugi storms out of Atem's apartment. And disappears. He's probably fine. He's just angry that Atem called him clingy. There's nothing for Atem to worry about. Really. Yuugi is fine and Atem isn't worried at all.

Comments: I really like fics where the jerk realizes he was being a jerk, and then takes steps to fix it. That's Atem in this case, but his character journey is really well done (and presented as a parallel to Kaiba who has already gone through it thanks to Jou). There's a good variety of H/C elements here too - the emotional bits, but also poor Yuugi being caught up in the rain. His poor shoes squelch the entire time Atem tries to apologize and it's so pitiful and enduring at the same time.
