It’s about time!
I finally did Muta’s redesign!
And I realized I’ve never shared his full backstory so here it is, under the cut, it’s pretty long XD:
In this universe, Ophelia not only is the Internet Dictator but she also is a mad scientist who developed a mutagen formula that works on humans
And she needed a test subject
Guess who
So whenever Ophelia wants to experiment on him, she sedates him in any way that works, it can be darts, drugs in his coffee, you name it
And when he wakes up, Pedro (Imma call him Muta okay, bear with me) has to live with whatever she did to him while he was out cold
She gave him an electric collar that acts as a tracker: if he tries to remove it, it zaps him; if he leaves a certain perimeter, it zaps him strongly enough to knock him out
Only Ophelia can remove the collar and she only removes it during her experiments
Muta is not allowed to leave the house except when the family sends him on a hit
The window of his room has electrified bars
He wags his tail when he's excited
And starts hissing when he gets too upset
Because he can't go outside, he picked up painting as a mean to calm down/let his feelings out
He also has a diary
Escape
Because Ophelia always uses the same anaesthetic, Muta's body had built up a resistance to it
So he woke up in the middle of an experiment before Ophelia could do anything
He broke his restraints and attacked her
She defended herself by stabbing him with a scalpel right over his ear
That made Muta go completely feral and he caused mayhem in the lab before escaping and passing out somewhere far away
After the escape
He woke up freaking out because of the memory loss, the mutations and the talking banana that just popped out of nowhere (he knew Pedro before all this, he just forgot about it)
Because he forgot everything, he rediscovers his mutations little by little
Blurry memories slowly came back to him over the course of the years, through flashbacks and nightmares
After remembering almost everything that happened, he decided to go on a revenge rampage —hence the game
Post game stuff
After killing Ophelia and the banana, Muta decides to leak all of her experiments logs online to show the world her real side
He doesn't leak her works though, as he is afraid that some people will use the mutagen formula for evil
In fact, he destroys the lab and the formula
But he secretly keeps one physical copy of the formula that he never talks about
Soon, pretty much the whole world knows about Ophelia's awful experiments on her own brother
Rumors start circulating about how said brother may have been the one who killed her and the rest of the family and leaked the logs
His favorite drink to relax is red fruits tea
After his escape, he still likes to paint, it helps him calm down (especially Bob Ross tutorials), but he also picked up cooking as a hobby
He posts pictures of his art and his dishes online without ever showing his body, and people keep begging him for a face reveal
He has a black sphynx cat!
He named her Josephine
He sometimes posts pictures of her too and people love her
Has an amazing singing voice???
He lives off assassination jobs
His therapist knows about him
Also the vets from the time where Josephine got hurt and he rushed to the vet clinic without thinking of covering himself up
And finally, the list of his powers/abilities:
Reptile-like eye (Night vision)
Retractable claws (his hands are much bigger than normal)
Prehensile tail (reptilian in appearance)
Focus
Gills (can breathe underwater) (located on his neck, but only appear when submerged)
Can regrow limbs/body parts like lizards/axolotls do, in minutes
Retractable bug wings (similar to a dragonfly's)
Thick bulletproof scales on his back
Hearing as good as a barn owl, if not better (tilts head when locating a sound)
Strong sense of smell (can smell blood like sharks)
Venomous fangs (Inland Taipan venom)
Forked tongue (like a snake's)
Extremely fast
Panther-like feet (he can walk around silently)
Extremely strong (can lift about 2 tons)
Thick bulletproof scales on forearms (similar to the one on his back)
Can stick to/crawl on any surfaces (walls, ceilings, etc.) like geckos
Immune to any type of toxic substance
Can stay upside down for an undefined period of time (like bats)
Second pair of eyelids to see underwater
Can regulate his body temperature
Woo, this boi has a very detailled backstory, huh
#My Friend Pedro#My Friend Pedro AU#Mutant AU#Muta#I spent an entire day on these i don't know how i stayed focused for so long holy--#I love me boy he's precious#literally a gentle giant#and yes his size is the result of the mutations-- his body had to adapt to his muscles#anyway#toodles#reblogs are deeply appreciated!

Okay, one idea I really want is the Straw Hats ending up in the Rise of the Guardians world and they all end up as spirits.
They’re all confused how they end up here, and who knows how long they’re around to influence things, but the very idea of them just existing in that kind of way is hilarious to think about.
Robin (Egypt) – sphynx, a speaker of truth yet is a mystery, talking in riddles and takes great fun in confusing people. Loves knowledge and loves people who loves it too. Shares knowledge to people if she could, loves books. Since there are so many different versions of sphynxes in different cultures and countries, she can pop up in those countries anytime she wants, haha. She never shares how she does it when most spirits can’t, and loves frustrating people by giving them cryptic answers if asked.
Usopp (Africa) – African storyteller like in the stories, tall tales, has a tendency to travel, which is unusual for his kind who is emphatic on tradition. He explores and searches for his crew actively, and on the way, collects stories as he does. Him and Robin actually are the ones who travel around the most (exempting Luffy, who none of the Straw Hats can find cause he can’t stand fucking still damn it Luffy) and keeps everyone updated on each other. Headcanon of mine is that he inspired and helped write the Anderson Fairy tales, LOL.
Zoro (Japan) – a ‘wandering samurai’. In the legends, ghosts of samurais wander in search of a purpose. Hilariously for Zoro, he does it cause he’s genuinely fucking lost, which Sanji finds incredibly amusing.
Nami (Irish) – an Irish witch, which also is hilarious. She mostly ends up in bars or inns, tricking other spirits to pay ludicrous prices or favors when they want gossip or info from her. She and Robin are kind of opposites of each other, with Robin always speaking the truth, yet twists and riddles it out so people would have to be clever enough to solve it themselves. Nami, on the other hand, just lies all the time and people would have to be clever enough to know when she is. However, she never breaks promises or deals. And she’s always lenient to children.
Chopper (Canada) – Bigfoot, which explains A LOT. Though, there are multiple Bigfoots, so he’s just one of the many. Instead, he is a DOCTOR BIGFOOT, which is even weirder and funnier. He’s like, basically that friendly monster you find in a forest that people warn off and is just misunderstood, haha. Whenever children get lost, he leads them back home and heals them if they’re injured.
Franky (American) – He’s an engineer, he embodies inventing and creating. He’s also a fixer upper and an inventor all at once. He inspires people to create new things and is so enthusiastic about all these new immigrants who come into the mixing pot. New ideas in the air! He’s ecstatic about the industrial times and its growth, but absolutely hates the conditions of the people, and rages against people who claim it was ‘progress.’ Bring in the new, sure that’s great. But to kick people down while doing so boils his blood. He and Luffy interact a lot cause America is A Hot Mess of everything, hahaha.
Brook (Austria) – He’s a fucking ghost. A genuine fucking ghost who haunts Austria’s castles and at night, people can hear a violin playing and rowdy songs that don’t fit the setting at all. People see a skeleton at the corner of their eye with a ridiculous afro prancing around the grounds and it’s really freaky. He gossips with other ghosts of old monarchs (I’m headcanoning people with strong influence over the country or has strong personalities end up lingering for a while) and Usopp visits from time to time.
Sanji (France) – he’s a Sea Cook. Kind of a minor sea god who helps sailors sail safely, makes sure to guide them to areas with lots of fish if they get hungry, and spends most of his time in the ships’ kitchens yelling at cooks to add citrus food, nonono what are you doing with that potato you’re skinning it wrong. What about the nutrients?! So basically this grumpy, neatly suited man swearing up a storm and fruitlessly kicking people’s heads when they’re acting like idiots and hovering around like a mother hen. Also, he is absolutely enraged at the old belief that having a woman onboard is bad luck. Fuck you idiots who have no manners do you have any idea how long it’s been since I’ve seen a woman? Stop fucking ruining this for me!
Luffy (Brazil) – He’s Freedom. Like, that’s it. If the Guardians of Childhood had been looking, they would’ve thought he would be PERFECT for the job, but the Man in the Moon is really, really amused by Luffy’s existence and leaves him be to his own devices. He’s too big even in this world, and he just ends up in countries that need people to rise up, to fight back. He’s in revolutions, protests, wars, cheering people on and fighting with them. He bolsters their strength, makes them laugh in hard times, make them invincible against things that are huge and indomitable looking. He’s just, unchangeable. No matter how bad it is, he keeps smiling.
And just, imagine everyone reacting to them? Like, Ombric meeting Robin and them talking about books and both enthusiastically sharing knowledge with each other, and Robin being all secretive the whole time.
“I want nothing but the truth.” The woman’s voice rang in the room, forthright and honest. With her masks stripped along with her sly words and subtle smiles, she looked powerful. A hungry girl who saw the world in shades of grey, hanging in the backdrop and always watching, observing, waiting.
There’s a finality to her voice, the verdict set with nothing stopping her path. This is her last ditch effort to get him to talk, a method that revealed her heart, her core.
The dark skin, mystery surrounding her like a cloak, clever words with clever answers. A familiar nose that he swore he’s seen missing from great wonders-
“You’re a sphinx!” Ombric exclaimed, shocked.
She laughed, the sound reverberating the room and just as warm as her natural climate.
“I am.” She conceded with a small smile. “I have to be something to people after all.”
Japan is an island, so Sanji ends up visiting Zoro a lot since even though the mosshead has no fucking idea from left to right, always is able to find a shoreline somehow and they constantly butt heads whenever they do.
“Feeding people your shit food? I feel sorry for them.”
“Shut up! At least I’m not called the ‘Wandering Samurai.’ Wandering my ass. More like ‘lost shitface who doesn’t know North from up.’”
“Yeah? And why do people call you Sea Cook? Should’ve been ‘swirlybrow bastard’ or ‘lovesick idiot.’”
Or Chopper the friendly Bigfoot helping lost children, sometimes in his small form to calm them down, and big when he needs to protect them from other predators or monsters. Usopp basically being their network, able to travel around the most and spread the Straw Hats adventures to others, or make up stories of his own. Luffy and Franky adventuring around America cause seriously, there’s so much weird shit going on there.
Nami abso-fucking-lutely delighted that there are maps, there are better tools, better ways to man the sea. And despite what mortals think in this world, the sea is still pretty exciting here though not as much as their old world. What withe the loch ness monster, atlantis, mermaids (Sanji was fucking delighted), and more. Sanji probably knows the sea better than any of them now.
“… Has Usopp found the others yet?”
“Yeah, the haggling witch is screwing people over back in Ireland as usual. And last I saw, Franky was ready to kill this guy building a train or something.”
“I met Chopper.” It had been difficult for the giant spirit to come near the ocean. His place was more inland. Sanji grimaced around his cigarette that looked nothing like what existed during this current time period. It was a mystery where he got his neverending supply, though he thanked every day for it. “He’s helping some kids out. Turns out people are the same no matter where we are.”
Yeah, I would really love to see someone write this.

If your dog's skin layer is actually all reddish and also scratchy, you could be wondering exactly what is going on. Truth is, skin complications in pet dogs are very usual yet there may be a lot of causes for itchy, red skin layer in pets. Wild kitties could also be classified in terms of their seeking procedures. Some types are actually pointed out to become far better for allergic reactions compared to others and they feature balinese, asian shorthair, javanese, rex, sphynx, and also ice-cold felines. Brain lesions generally are actually found out unintentionally when you're being actually detected for an unrelated signs and symptom, baseding on Dark locations that signify brain sores generally are discovered after going through a magnetic resonance imaging exam, or MRI, or even a CT scan, or else referred to as an electronic tomography scan. Doubtless Druids throughout the planet are actually still absorbing the new-look Evening Elf cat form which was actually introduced the other day We understand Blizzard was actually going for something of a colour-coded technique, trying to match skins to that of their owners but just what does this all imply?
In the house kitties are actually much less probably to create toxoplasmosis than outdoor ones, considering that the infection is transmitted via infected target pets as well as raw pork. This is actually a hazardous routine for them and http://crazylibrary2018.info/establish-temporary-goals-that-are-simpler-to-attain-compared-to-long-lasting-objectives that induces damage to your possessions if you experience kitty behavior in the areas of detrimental chewing and also scratching by kitties as well as pet cats. Use the household pet drug pro tempore indicated, but if the trouble carries on, or even if the ejection transforms environment-friendly around the eye from your animal intend on bringing her to the veterinarian. Just what about tinned meals? Hyperthyroidism is actually the most typical The endcrine system condition and also over 90 percent from kitties are going to burn fat through this illness despite the fact that they have an enhanced hunger.
That is actually not difficult to view the correlation from the animal kitty to its own larger relative, the cougar, when you check out a kitty playing in the landscape. Water bowls, a should for all the family pets, really good well-maintained water positioned in a secured site to stay clear of icy, canines appear foolish with a block of ice followed the tongue. Moreover, felines are actually very clean animals as well as if presented with a total (filthy") can, they may aim to secure a bowel movement and also carry on to a various location (think about what you perform in a public bathroom when you find the slow particularly dirty).
Sneezing is actually certainly not as popular in pet dogs as that resides in folks, so if your canine is sneezing overly this may signify a more major condition. Hemopet is a Blood Bank That’s Saving Pets
When Robin’s organs began failing after getting dozens of bee stings while chasing a suspect, the beautiful black Monterey Park police dog required emergency medical intervention to save her life. The blood products she needed so desperately were rushed to the Inland Valley Emergency Pet Clinic by staff from Hemopet, the United States’ only nonprofit commercial canine blood bank.
Hemopet is a blood bank that’s saving countless pets’ lives. Photography courtesy Hemopet.
What is Hemopet?
Hemopet was founded by renowned researcher and veterinarian Dr. Jean Dodds. The idea of creating a blood bank program for pets — like those that already existed for humans — came to her in the early 1980s after leaving a meeting for the American Red Cross Advisory Council.
Through funding obtained from the U.S. National Institutes of Health, Dr. Dodds was able to teach and promote veterinary transfusion medicine at veterinary schools across the United States before opening Hemopet in 1986. Today, Hemopet supplies an estimated — and impressive — 40 percent of commercial canine blood used for transfusions in the U.S.
“Our first commercial canine blood products were sold in 1991, initially in southern California and then nationwide and in Canada,” Dr. Dodds explained. “Canada has since developed its own blood bank for pets, and we now also service Hong Kong.”
Hemopet, which is licensed and regulated by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, provides quality blood products, such as packed red blood cells, whole blood, fresh-frozen plasma and transfusion supplies, to veterinary clinics in order to make transfusion medicine safe and affordable. And Dr. Dodds was proud to note that Hemopet helped formulate the state regulations that currently apply to animal blood banks in the state of California.
Hemopet takes its dedication to rescuing dogs one step further
And while Hemopet’s blood products help save countless dogs’ lives, the origin of the blood itself is also a story of survival and rescue.
The blood is collected from specific groups of resident Greyhounds at Hemopet. The former racing dogs are rescued and undergo strict testing to see if they meet the criteria to become blood donors. The healthy, adult dogs who are free from any known blood-transmitted diseases and have the correct blood type to serve as donors do so for no more than a year, then are adopted out as companion animals to loving homes.
“We recruit only true ‘universal donor’ dogs with blood type DEA-4, as they can give their blood to any dog regardless of the patient dog’s blood type,” Dr. Dodds said. “This is important, as most people don’t know the blood type of their pet and cannot easily find it out in an emergency.”
How Hemopet collects blood for dogs in need
If the idea of a person donating blood conjures up images of a relatively quick and painless procedure followed by juice and snacks, the process for the donor Greyhounds is surprisingly similar. The dog is fully awake and stays in a sitting position in front of a staff member while the blood is collected. Dr. Dodds explained that the blood flows out of the jugular vein in the neck thanks to gravity, and after the donation is complete, the dog’s neck is bandaged to make sure the site stays clean, and he or she receives a treat.
She also noted that Hemopet collects “pediatric units of blood” (the equivalent of 250 mL) twice a month from adult Greyhound donors weighing between 55 and 95 pounds. Larger males can actually donate three times a month if necessary, but even at that, it is still not considered a large volume for them to give regularly.
Thanks to these Greyhounds and the dedication of Dr. Dodds and her team, countless dogs have access to the blood products that can save their lives. Dogs like Baxter, who had pancreatitis and would have been euthanized if his owner, as a last resort, had not contacted Dr. Dodds who advised her to try the plasma transfusion that ultimately saved his life; or Arthur the Dachshund, who was bitten by a rattlesnake and survived the deadly venom because of blood and plasma donated from Greyhound donor Blondie.
How to get involved with Hemopet
There are many ways to get involved at Hemopet, including the Greyhound Spoiler’s Club, which is as wonderful as it sounds. For more information on Hemopet, its affiliate, Save the Greys Greyhound rescue and adoption program, and all the other important work being done by Dr. Dodds in veterinary diagnostics, visit hemopet.org or look them up on Facebook.

The Inland Sphynx (Homopantera terra) is a large sentient of the morphic genus Homopantera, native New Petra. It has a lean, broad-chested body; a proportioned humanoid head; round ears; and a dark, hairy tuft at the tip of its tail. It is not sexually dimorphic. The Inland Sphynx lives alone, but socialises.
Etymology The word 'Sphynx' is a Greek corruption of the Egyptian name 'shesepankh', which meant 'living image'.
Taxonomy Homopantera terra is the current designation in use in New Petra. Other species are Homopantera maritimum (Coastal Sphynx), Homopantera androphagon (Manticore) and Homopantera ornata (Lamasu). Some have proposed the alternative name: Homopantera civitas instead of terra.
Description The Inland Sphynx is a lean, broad-chested like-felid with a humanoid head, a reduced neck, and round furred ears. The base of the tail and the area behind the forelimbs are densely feathered.
The fur varies in colour from light buff to silvery grey, yellowish red, and dark brown. The colours of the underparts are generally lighter. Both male and female Inland Sphynx retain spots into adulthood. Feather colours are generally bright, with purples, reds, oranges and metallics being common. Hair ranges from any natural human colour, though is frequently dyed to match the feathers. The tail of all Inland Sphynx ends in a dark, hairy tuft that conceals a hard 'spur' that is formed from the final, fused sections of tail bone.
Its skull is very similar to that of a standard human, though much larger. Faces are frequently oval with pronounced, elevated, and arched eyebrows, large almond-shaped eyes, well-defined cheeks, full lips and a prominent, pointed chin. Males frequently cultivate a beard. Canines are only slightly more developed than a human's, and dentition supports omnivorous eating.
Large paws have fully retractable claws and are notably agile compared to other Homopantera, enabling limited tool use and more elaborate grooming. Instead of a dew claw, they have a thumb, though the size of their digits limits precise actions.
The average Inland Sphynx is approximately 170cm long with a tail length of 80 cm, and a weight of 120 kilos. Females are only slightly smaller than males.
Distribution and habitat The Inland Sphynx is found only in New Petra and does not travel. As of this writing, around fifty individuals are registered with the Bureau of Population.
Behaviour and ecology Inland Sphynx spend much of their time resting; they are inactive for about sixteen hours per day. Although they can be active at any time, their activity generally peaks after noon with a period of socialising, grooming, and then activity in their chosen profession.
While they are solitary amongst their own species they commonly live close by other sentients and have reciprocal arrangements for grooming, entertainment, and health related reasons.
The Inland Sphynx is a generalist omnivore and prefers cooked food. It is a poor hunter unless trained to do so, as it's needs are generally met through the society that it functions in. When it is required to fend for itself, it generally hunts by ambush from a raised platform or tree - it cannot fly, but is capable of fully extending the feathers around it's forelimbs to allow a controlled fall. They prefer small game, rich fruits, and enjoy wine and other fermented substances.
Reproduction is limited and sporadic, resulting in a large egg that requires brooding for 110 days. Inland Sphynx who want to have offspring have access to artificial incubators in New Petra. Cubs are somewhat altricial, despite being born with fur, and must be parented for four years before reaching adult size. They make decent parents despite being generally solitary, cubs receive schooling along side other youth in New Petra.
Morphic ecology notes
All Homopantera are capable of shifting species according to adaptive pressure. The Inland Sphynx is particularly prone to shifting to a Coastal Sphynx body and lifestyle should they engage in any of the following behaviours:
Eating sentients
Engaging in blood sports
Spending time with Coastal Sphynx
Ceasing intellectual pursuits
Engaging in anti-social behaviour
Inland Sphynx can rarely shift to a Lamasu under the following situations:
Eating predators
Developing a martial outlook
Developing an obsession with astronomy and philosophy
Behaving in an ascetic manner
Adhering to a strict set of behavioural rules
Inland Sphynx cannot become Manticores unless they go through a Coastal Sphynx transformation first.
Social notes
Inland Sphynx ornament and decorate themselves when they have the assistance of humans to do so. They maintain themselves neatly, and are frequently in the University District. Those who cannot maintain academic pursuits have the physical strength to do more mundane jobs such as dock workers or pull carts. They generally avoid roles such as scouts or guards to avoid morphic shifting.
Generally occupations chosen by Inland Sphynx include various academic focuses, due to their excellent memory. They favour writing, mathematics, history and stories. They all admire riddles, and can develop obsessive behaviours around them.
Most Inland Sphynx speak several languages, and are gregarious as long as they can return to their own home, alone, and recharge in peace.

Working on the design for the New Petran Inland or Desert Sphynx. They have more agile paws than their dangerous relatives, but the trade off are smaller, less useful wings. While they cannot fly or even really glide, they can make accurate leaps.
As they are quadrupeds, their wings are not useful in running, they are thought to have evolved from ambush predators, and so never developed bipedal movement.

Risograph sphynx - Inland Sphynx usually wear clothing but I wanted to show her proportions accurately. They do have five phlanges on the front feet, but the smallest finger is highly extended to support the limited wing structure.
Inland Sphynx have moderately agile paws with a primitive thumb that allows reasonable grasping, though humans have finer finger agility.

The Inland Sphynx and the Coastal Sphynx are members of the same species, but have different life cycles and reproductive strategies. The Inland Sphynx cannot fly, having forelegs instead of wings, and has hair instead of a mane of fur. Their paws are more agile, and while they lack the dexterity of humans, they are able to engage in more 'human-adjacent' activities such as writing, artwork, and more.
Inland Sphynxes do not organise into prides like Coastal Sphynxes, and the males do not engage in infanticide to take over a pride as a result. While they are delighted by and curious about riddles, they only hunt small prey and are omnivores who enjoy cooked food over raw in the main. Compulsive, obsessive riddling is seen as a dangerous thing, as it may herald the transformation into a Coastal Sphynx, and subsequent expulsion from New Petra.
It is not unusual for a Coastal Sphynx to attempt to drop her cub into New Petra should a coup occur in her pride, but this procedure often fails. Given that a Coastal Sphynx will happily eat the odd guard on the way in, they are never welcome. The whole affair is intensely embarrassing to Inland Sphynx, who take pains to separate themselves from their more deadly relatives. Conversely, very rarely, a Coastal Sphynx who has become Inland manages to make it to New Petra in time to survive, and therefore become a citizen.
Inland Sphynx value academic pursuits, scientific exploration, and history. While they are nowhere near as strong as their counterparts, they are still a relatively large creature by human standards, and occasionally end up in mundane roles such as cart pullers or harbour shipping aides. They vastly prefer to be accountants, mathematicians, teachers and historians.
The average Inland Sphynx reproduces very slowly, if at all, though they make good parents when they decide to actually have a cub. Frequently, parents live apart, but the cub will have a primary residence that they take turns visiting. An Inland Sphynx is pregnant for longer, lays a more complicated egg, lives longer, grows more slowly, and becomes more intelligent than a Coastal Sphynx.
An Inland Sphynx who was Coastal in their youth will find catching up difficult to do, and a Coastal Sphynx who was Inland will find it hard to compete with the violent athletes they find themselves amongst.

Size Comparison - Inland and Coastal Sphynx
While the Inland Sphynx is considered the 'smallest' of the Homopanthera, they are larger than a human in both torso length and weight. The Coastal Sphynx is larger still, and particularly large specimens standing straight are the height of some shorter humans, with faces roughly three times the size.
