notes: k honestly this is like, half written aesthetic & half headcanons. it’s kinda supposed to be like, if these characters embodied autumn, this is what they’d feel like; this is what it would be like to spend an october with them. does that make sense? i hope it does lmao

dabi: the witching hour, boarded up shops, cutting through the graveyard to get somewhere faster, the knocking of tree branches against your window, sticks snapping under your boots as you walk through the forest, bare trees with only a few stray leaves hanging on, the smell of black coffee at the break of dawn, pale sunrises hidden by faint clouds after a long moonless night, old structures catching fire mysteriously, blue veins, icy cold fingertips, teeth marks left in soft flesh, falling asleep in your jeans, a flickering lightbulb, dirt caked under blunt fingernails, dark purple hickeys, the passing of gum from one mouth to another during a kiss, having to sneak into your own house at 4am trying not to wake your housemates

shigaraki: a call after 3am with nothing but silence on the other line, scraped knuckles and split lips, sunken eyes that scream insomnia, knobby knees knocking together, the taste of blood in your mouth, crunchy leaves swirling around on the sidewalk, trees casting ominous shadows on your bedroom wall in the moonlight, teeth spit on the concrete, old ghost stories whispered into your hair, the tangled ancient roots of hundred-year-old trees protruding from the ground, wolves howling in the distance, gaming controllers with fading buttons worn out from overuse

hawks: the way pumpkin pie melts in your mouth, a worn plaid flannel that smells like home, crows cawing at 6am, chocolate melted on fingertips, grey cloudless skies, jumpscares and then the comfort that immediately follows, spicy sweet cider tickling your nose, the faint flapping of wings outside your bedroom window, golden honey dripping from honeycomb, ripped denim, glowing jack-o-lanterns, the gentle creaking of old floorboards, the way caramel apples stick to your teeth, the scent of a well-loved leather jacket
