"damn, you've got skill," yuri's been watching this guy haggle at the opalarian market for a few minutes now. normally, he'd find the idea of swindling people hard to stomach, but the customers looked wealthy enough to handle losing a few stars. no use wasting energy thinking about it.

"...plus that snazzy getup and everything," he takes a second to readjust the wooden sword resting across his shoulder, eyeing the other... er, less elegant stall owners before he continues, "don't you think you're trying a little too hard, though? if it works, it works, but... i dunno, maybe it's the hat giving off that shady con artist vibe."

If the circumstances were different, or were it anyone else who offered to help him, Dorian would have vehemently protested the treatment.

As it is, he can't afford to be choosy with a twisted ankle and a sprained wrist from falling off his broom during Flying classes. Good news: no mandatory gym classes for the foreseeable future. Bad news: literally everything else.

He should feel lucky, he wasn't too far from the ground when he'd fallen, so at least there were no broken bones nor a concussion to worry about. It's still very annoying though, having to walk around with someone else's help because a single crutch isn't easy to use with both injuries on the same sides and your balance being different than a land-dweller's.

Dorian holds onto his step-brother's arm a little tighter as he carefully lowers himself onto a chair, face scrunched in both effort and slight pain, breathing a sigh of relief once he's fully seated.

"This sucks..." he complains under his breath, looking like he wants to face-plant onto the table for all of half a second before thinking better of it. He gives Azul a grateful but tired smile instead "Sorry you have to deal with me in this circumstances, I'll try not to get too much in the way..."

          Its a little daunting. Naira liked a challenge, make no mistake. But this literal laundry list of orders Azul had...she was worried.

          Not that the tasks were hard, but that he wanted them each by a certain time. Did he simply think her to be a machine? That she can just work without tiring or needing breaks? Sure, she's effecient and sure, she's usually pretty quick at what she does. But the way he wants all of this done...she'd have to skip several meals, possibly all of her classes, and then lose a few hours of sleep.

          Perhaps he could sense the anxiety swell within the fairy as she read over everything. His hand on her shoulder, it was rather large compared to her and encompassed the whole thing.

          With a mildly worried look, she looks back to Azul who only seemed to smile, squeeze her shoulder, and then walk off to go do whatever he does.

          Well...

          Nothing else but to start working at it. If she gets started now, she can probably have at least five of the things done by the end of the next two classes. She'll have to use that magic little box and let Yuu know she'll be late getting back to the dorm.

Three nights ago. Can’t remember why exactly. I think I was full of love for my partner and kitten and just got a bit emosh.

Not that I know of. But I have fairly wide hips so there’s a chance one might have slipped out without me noticing.

❝      sounds  like  it  is  in  need  of  dire  repair.      ❞   he  comments  after  seeing  the  material  that  needs  to  be  replaced.  truth  was,  he  had  little  expertise  when  it  came  to  machinery  and  devices,  especially  those  on  land.  of  course  he  has  been  picking  up  a  thing  or  two  especially  with  naira  explaining.  he  didn’t  like  feeling  out  of  his  comfort  zone,  but  he  would  trust  her  opinion  when  it  would  come  to  stuff  like  this.

          She was just as lost as he was when it came to Clumsy devices. However, given her species and the affinity with them, not to mention her literal talent, Naira fares a bit better in dealing with their devices. Plus, Yuu has been very kind in telling her about any and everything! Every time she brings something to them, much like a curious child, he gladly explains it to her, and even shows her how it functions. Leona does the same, if nothing else for the free services she provides around his dorm.

          Actually...everyone seems to be rather kind to her for all her work. Even Azul. Everyone always says how mean he can be, but he’s taken into consideration her generational trauma with merfolk and is doing his best to not give her reason to fear him. So Naira likes him well enough.

          Still, how silly are the Clumsies and Merfolk, they’re doing her the favor! Letter her do all of this and indulge in her vices.

         “Hmm...I could use plentya’ things around here. Bu’...maybe Sam has somethin’ better. We need somethin’ ligh’...bu’ durable an’ can withstand heat. Uhm...there’s a metal...bu’...” And she’s beginning to tug on her bangs. A habit when she was delving deep into thought. She rememebers a Scrap-Metal talent fairy telling her about it. Granted, Naira had no intrest in scrapping metals or melting them like she did. But now she wishes she had paid more attention.

         “I think we should see Sam. He migh’ know wha’ I’m talkin’ abou’.”

There is this stigma I've seen, where people assume dropping threads, not replying to certain asks, or taking too long to reply-- means there's no interest. You know what fixes that? Communication. Talking. Sometimes the muse just isn't there, you can try again later. IDK. Like I will sit on asks, and replies for WEEKS-- but it doesn't mean I don't want to interact!! If I didn't want to, I wouldn't bother following!!

we all need someone sometimes, and you often don't feel like you are worth someone remaining. you are, though. i know that you crave for someone to be there and rest their hand against your back during the bad times. for a loving voice to lull you to sleep with a cadence of compassion and a desire to remain. you just want someone to remain. through and past the bad parts when you know it is difficult. you want to fall asleep to their voice and wake up to them still there in the morning. you want them to know the way that you take your tea and keep a box of your favorite flavor in their pantry in case you have a bad night and need to come over. you want to trust someone enough to give them a key to your house. and you deserve it, love. you deserve for someone to linger. you deserve to place your trust in another and know that they'll help you brush your hair if you're just too tired. you deserve for someone to remain.
