@achonburike: He does! At least he gets some by the end of the volume... @initiatepapyrus I!! hope so!! Back when 3 actually came out I told her she was welcome to share her reactions with me in real time but I don't know if she remembers and I feel like saying it again would be like DEMANDING a liveblog. We'll see what happens. She also has kids so I'm terribly worried that she's going to come up to me and ask "is the torture of children going to be a recurring theme??" and I'll have to say "only in... some volumes..." and then she will stop reading before she even gets to 2001 (in which the torture of children is, indeed, a plot point)
