For the US folks, that's approximately the distance from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Memphis, Tennessee. Fourteen hours on a big fast freeway, and (because it's east/west instead of north/south) a full time zone away.

Decoding The Role Of An AI Architect In IT Infrastructure Development
Tumblr media
Welcome to the world of artificial intelligence, where machines are becoming smarter and more intuitive than ever before. As we witness this technological revolution, there is one key player behind the scenes that often goes unnoticed – the AI architect. While everyone talks about the amazing capabilities of AI systems, it’s time we shed some light on the brilliant minds responsible for building and shaping these cutting-edge technologies. In this blog post, we will embark on a journey to decode the role of an AI architect in IT infrastructure development. From designing complex algorithms to ensuring seamless integration with existing systems, their expertise plays a crucial role in transforming businesses and revolutionizing industries. So buckle up as we delve into the fascinating world of AI architecture and uncover how these unsung heroes are shaping our future!
Introduction to AI Architecture
An AI architect is responsible for the design and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions within an organization. They work closely with other IT professionals to ensure that the AI system integrates seamlessly with the existing infrastructure. In addition, AI architects must be able to effectively communicate with non-technical staff members to explain the purpose and advantages of the AI system.
The role of an AI architect is becoming increasingly important as more organizations look to adopt AI technology. As such, it is essential for IT professionals interested in this field to have a strong understanding of AI principles and architectures. This article will provide an overview of AI architecture and the role of an AI architect in IT infrastructure development.
What Does an AI Architect Do?
An AI architect is responsible for the design and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. They work closely with data scientists and engineers to develop and deploy AI models that solve business problems.
AI architects have a deep understanding of AI algorithms and architectures. They are able to select the right algorithm for a given problem and design efficient systems that can handle the complex compute requirements of AI applications.
AI architects also play a critical role in the development of cloud-based AI solutions. They work with cloud providers to ensure that AI workloads can be efficiently scaled up or down as needed.
Key Skills Required for an AI Architect
An AI architect is responsible for the design and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. They work with businesses to understand their needs and then develop systems that can meet those needs. AI architects must have a strong understanding of both business and technology, as well as the ability to think creatively to solve problems.
Some key skills that are required for an AI architect include:
-Analytical skills: AI architects must be able to analyze data and identify trends in order to develop effective solutions.
-Communication skills: AI architects need to be able to communicate their ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical staff. They also need to be able to listen to feedback and incorporate it into their designs.
-Creativity: AI architects need to be creative in order to come up with innovative solutions that meet the needs of their clients.
-Problem-solving skills: AI architects must be able to identify problems and develop effective solutions. They also need to be able to troubleshoot issues that arise during the implementation of their systems.
Benefits of Having an AI Architect in IT Infrastructure Development
As organizations increasingly look to adopt AI and machine learning technologies, the role of an AI architect becomes increasingly important in IT infrastructure development. An AI architect is responsible for designing and implementing the technical infrastructure needed to support these new technologies. In addition to their technical expertise, AI architects must also have a strong understanding of business needs and objectives.
The benefits of having an AI architect in IT infrastructure development are numerous. Perhaps most importantly, they can help ensure that your organization’s adoption of these new technologies is successful. By working closely with business leaders, they can ensure that the right technical infrastructure is in place to support your company’s specific needs. Additionally, they can help you avoid common pitfalls and mistakes that can occur when adopting these new technologies.
An AI architect can play a vital role in ensuring your organization’s success as you look to adopt AI and machine learning technologies. Their expertise and experience can help make the process smoother and more successful, while their deep understanding of both business and technical needs can ensure that your company gets the most out of these new exciting technologies.
Challenges Faced by AI Architects
When it comes to artificial intelligence (AI), architects face a unique set of challenges. They must not only be experts in AI, but also in the underlying IT infrastructure. This can be a daunting task, as AI is a rapidly evolving field with new technologies and approaches constantly emerging.
To stay ahead of the curve, AI architects must continuously educate themselves on the latest advancements in AI. They also need to have a strong understanding of how AI can be integrated into existing IT infrastructure. This requires a deep knowledge of both AI and IT systems.
AI architectures must be designed to meet the specific needs of the organization. They need to be scalable and flexible enough to accommodate future changes. At the same time, they need to be secure and reliable. These requirements can often conflict, making it difficult to find the right balance.
The biggest challenge for AI architects is probably keeping up with the pace of change. With new technologies and approaches constantly emerging, they must continuously educate themselves on the latest advancements in AI. This can be a full-time job in itself!
Conclusion
In conclusion, an AI Architect plays a vital role in IT Infrastructure Development. They are responsible for designing and implementing the most effective Artificial Intelligence-based architectures to gain maximum potential from data-driven applications. As such, they must possess knowledge of trends in machine learning and deep learning abilities as well as have technical expertise in programming languages such as Python or Java. Furthermore, having a good understanding of how to structure large scale projects is necessary when developing an AI system that can be used by various organizations.

MAGA: Ukraine has no cards
Ukraine: fights back, targeting russian war capabilities and credibility, demonstrating that it can deal damage if russia doesn't want peace
MAGA: that's escalation!!! You shouldn't anger russia!!!
Then how the fuck is Ukraine supposed to obtain any "cards" (i.e. leverage at the negotiation table)?
By giving russians everything they want? Well, that's simply impossible because all they want is for Ukraine to cease to exist entirely. It's not about any particular regions - they demand dismantling of the Ukrainian armed forces so that they can swallow Ukraine whole. No amount of seizing territory is going to satisfy russia while Ukraine exists as an independent state.
So if you hear this "escalation bad!! russia must be appeased to achieve peace" rhetoric from anyone - know that they're lying to you. Because there are no concessions from Ukraine that would make russia leave Ukraine alone.
Tumblr media
Now trump says that poor kindhearted putin, who previously wasn't giving orders to bomb Ukrainian cities day and night, will be forced to retaliate. Now killing of civilians and destroying purely civilian infrustructure will be completely justified and understandable. I mean, have you seen those little innocent warplanes? Violated like that by barbaric Ukraine for no reason at all.
But that same trump was quacking about "no cards" in Ukrainian hands. How on earth is Ukraine supposed to get these cards, huh? If not by showing force and hitting russia where it hurts? Oh, that's right, Ukraine is supposed to roll over and take it like a good victim.
No matter how russia takes "revenge", you just know these dumb fucks will say that Ukraine deserves it. Fucking rapist logic.

Now that dutton has lost his seat it's important to know who the next minority gov leader of the libs may be. here are a few names and how they vote.
Angus Taylor, Andrew Hastie and Dan Tehan all voted against more cost of living relief, voted against guaranteed three days of childcare, voted for electoral reform to limit funds for ind. parties, voted against electricity infrustructure reform to make electricity sectors safer.
And that's just a few! This election may be over but the next one will be here before you know it, only 3 years. stay educated on your local member, it's more important than you think

This is pretty much my concern with Squidgeworld. It has been a tiny archive since forever, and I don't think Walter is equipped to deal with an influx of antis or other bad actors. The site has kind of suddenly become more well known after about two decades of almost no one knowing about it.
I do have faith that when an ton of antis invade and try to take over, he'll kick them out and set up some rules and/or infrustructure to keep it from happening again, but until that actually happens he's just, well, he's too nice and he runs the site as if it's for friends of friends, not for hundreds of strangers. You ask for admin privleges and he goes "sweet, I'm glad someone wants to help out" and there you go.

yknow writing fanfiction does often lead you to being a "behind the scenes" fan of things-- writing meta posts and making art leads to a more front stage existance. but i cant say ive never been the "big name fan" of things ive been involved in
i was a major player in the TOA discord as a kid. I did the mechanisms lore archive which is actually so cool
its always like. so i watch a lot of video essays about fan culture, fandom history, fandom everything, and i think i might start doing that. I want to make an intro to the mechanisms video essay so bad. i have for years and years and years yknow?
its just so. waow. what even. i like being cool. i am cool. but running the archive project really is... i like being part of infrustructure. i like being seen as cool. i like being the one who knows things. idk. im having a good time :') i love fandom man

my problem w generative ai is that the process is an important componant to art. not in a quasi-spiritual "ai art is souless" way but that every choice is meaningful, including the choice to devote time and energy to doing it. including the choice to share it. art is a way to connect with others and yourself. i dont want to text my friend and ask how theyre doing, and have their computer text me back that theyre fine. we're a social species! when people post ai art, its not the same kind of connection. i think wow you really dont get it
with corporate advertising and material, its a workers' rights issue. the average person may never even consider commisioning an art piece, so its whatever. not everyone has the money. but corporations are squeezing every penny they can out of people and its fucked up. the ludites made some good points
when i see people use it for things like recipes, i think someone has already posted one for this. someone has shared a little piece of their lives, traditions, and tastes. that barely-there connection is worth something. yeah even the bad ones
when its, like, factual information, its just spitting out a chopped up version of what someone already wrote. the computer cant reason out what is correct bc it doesnt understand what words mean. yeah sometimes people write things that arent true, sometimes knowingly, but at least they understand what they wrote
generative ai server farms arent worse for the environment than any other server farm. we're over-reliant on computers for the infrustructure we have. in general, power grids need heavy updates and water is too precious in most places to use so much cooling computers. its bad to keep building resource heavy server farms until said infrustructure is in place and not a danger to the enviroment. its the same way i feel about digital billboards fucking everywhere

Introduction
About
I'm Jason, a computer science student, therefore I'm not really that interested in making a game or being a part of the games industry. At the end of the day I'm suppose to complete certain units in my IoT and Mobile Technologies minor one of which is IGB120, and my actual industry pathway is towards cybersecurity, network infrustructure, and data centres (probably).
My goal is to take what I learn from this unit and to then maybe apply it to a secondary project while I'm pursuing my primary career in cybersecurity. Hopefully I'm able to learn enough of the basics to maybe create a game for fun or help a friend who's interested in creating a game.
IF I was working towards a game development career (let's pretend), I'd be interested in indie projects especially in line with the internet community and culture. I'm already pursuing an online audience with YouTube/Twitch as a side hustle so I'd be interested in being a part of a team to make something that the internet would really enjoy.
Note that when I mention the internet it'd be the western, English speaking side of the internet. However, a good portion of western internet culture does enjoy internet culture from other parts of the world so even being a part of a game that accesses different internet circles and brings them together would be a pretty impressive goal to work towards.
Games that I have in mind that have had an impact on internet culture recently would be MiSide, Helldivers 2, Palworld, and The Confin of Andy and Leyley as examples. There are some older titles like Stardew Valley, No Man's Sky, and Dokidoki Literature Club which have had an impact 5-10 years ago but are not as relevant today.
Next post will be about an elevator pitch for the game I'm required to design.

The Re-Opening Of Handmade Hearts
It’s been an icy hot minute since I wrote a proper update, but I won’t complicate this one. The update series started with the presence of a workspace and the first shop opening; the second post was about the progress and success so far; the third was almost a year later because so much had happened, and I’d moved, and the store was on standby, and I was getting married, usw.
I’ve since not only moved countries, but I’ve also moved my main storefront from Ko-Fi to the Artisans Cooperative. (But you’ll still find patterns on Ko-Fi.) Like I have from the start, I do the math and show my work in the description of each item listing in a breakdown of the price: In bullet list form, I state the material costs, the platform fees, the time I’ve estimate I could most efficiently take to complete one of each item (which will almost always be less time than it actually took), and the wage per hour that I’m paying myself. If you add it all up, it’ll equal the price in the listing — minus a tax based on your area that the marketplace adds automatically.
There are six fixed shipping prices based on size and location, with the least expensive being within Germany and the most expensive being anywhere outside the EU. I’ve got two different sizes of box, but I really should get me some envelopes and offer a cheaper no-tracking alternative for certain (very small, mostly not-yet-existing) items.
Here are the listings so far!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Photography by @ablondpanda)
I’ve done the math, and I have made just shy of 370€ in earnings in the time I’ve had Handmade Hearts open. I haven’t been able to work since 2019, so that’s 370€ in earnings within the last five years.
Ouch…
Ouch…?
Well, I have chronic depression, but I’ve managed to carve myself into an optimist; I’ve not had the chance to really grow yet as an indie seller, so having earned anything — not operated at a loss (at least within business expenses; general life expenses is another beast) — is a bright shining star to me.
My parter and I are waiting on job applications and government assistence. In the meantime, I’m hoping to gain more eyes and start making at least one sale every month in the middle and/or latter half of 2024.
I’ve yet to sell anything through the new storefront, so I’m trying to get more eyes on it. I’m considering opening a secondary storefront with Products With Love, a Germany-specific handmade marketplace, to get more eyes that won’t have to pay more than seven euros on shipping for any given thing.
Shipping is, unfortunately, not something I can do for free. To take a moment for personal politics: I really think mail should be one of those things governments work together to pay for and make free on the most basic level, like public infrustructure, roads and such. It shouldn’t cost $24 for me to send you a snake shaped neck pillow if you’re in the US.
That said, it does cost me 23€ (which is $24.53 as of writing this) to send you a snake shaped neck pillow right now. I want to emphasize that because it’s so common when shopping online to find something “underpriced” whose shipping is blown way up for profits, and I think sometimes it’s become habitual to assume that’s the case when shipping is over what Amazon would consider normal.
Another thing people do is including the shipping price within the price of the item to artificially remove shipping costs. That’s something I don’t do because A) I like transparency, and B) that would increase the platform fees you have to pay, increasing the overall price for no reason.
Ultimately, I hope that the way I do things helps people be more mindful of why things cost what they do.
To close out...
In preparation for posting this update, I’ve uploaded my tenth listing on the Artisans Cooperative marketplace. For my trans siblings, and for the pedants who have noticed that none of my wares have hearts on them:

Ukrainian drones shot down near Moscow as Russia attacks Kyiv, official claims
Tumblr media
Editor’s Note: This is a developing story and is being updated.
Russian air defense units intercepted en route to Moscow overnight on May 25, according to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.
Sobyanin’s claims came as Russia launched a large-scale aerial attack against Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities for the second night in a row.
Six drones were shot down as they flew towards Moscow, Sobyanin reported. Emergency workers were dispatched to the scene. No casualties or damage have been reported at the time of publication.
The Kyiv Independent could not verify Sobyanin’s claims. Ukraine rarely comments on reports of drone strikes on Russian soil.
Amid the reported attack, restrictions were introduced at Moscow’s Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports, as well as Russia’s Kaluga airport, according to the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya).
As Russia’s war drags on and the Kremlin has openly said it opposes a ceasefire, Ukraine has stepped up its drone attacks on Russian soil. In the past week, Russia has claimed that mass Ukrainian drone strikes targeted Moscow and other regions several nights in a row.
Ukraine regularly attacks Russian military infrustructure with drones. The recent surge in drone strikes aims to disrupt airport operations, overwhelm air defenses, and make the war visible to the Russian public.
Ukraine brings home 307 POWs in 2nd phase of major prisoner swap with Russia
Ukraine has secured the release of 307 Ukrainians from Russian captivity in the second phase of its largest prisoner exchange with Russia, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on May 24.

I got told that 'the Russians will come to save us and then youll all be sorry' since i was a Kid.
But if/when Russia does come all of them will be the first to fall to Russian bombs because we live right next to the border and its an important part of infrustructure.
I dont want that to happen. I dont want anyone to die even if they wanted me to die.

Okay, that's an interesting and completely untenable perspective.
Human beings being able to exist in large groups in close proximity to each other takes an incredible amount of organization, which involves bureaucracy and central planning, and rules and regulations. Individuals providing aid to individuals is not going to build and manage things like sewer systems and the delivery of clean water, and if you don't have those, no amount of helping your neighbor is going to get you out of having half your children die before age five, which until the sanitary revolution in the late 1800s was the level of infant mortality expected in any society. And today, a reliable indicator of a failed state is a sharp rise in infant and childhood mortality because of thrle breakdown of infrustructure. And that's just one example.
Likewise, anyone who has ever had to deal with bullying or exclusion will tell you that if your ability to survive is entirely dependent on the goodwill of your neighbors, and your neighbors don't like you, you will probably die.
On both a large systems scale and small individual scale, this type of anarchy is infeasible and would be horrific. And the systems humans develop time and time again to deal with these problems are, inevitably, government. Every time humans have lived in groups of more than a hundred or so people, they have developed a government. That is what we naturally do. and the interesting thing is that when you start trying to get most anarchists to tell you how they would solve these problems, eventually, after you break through the buzzwords, and the bs, and get them to start making plans, what they come up with, whether they are willing to call it that or not, is a government.
And the rest of the anarchists? Well they are much worse. These are the anarchists who decide that if humans in large groups inevitably form governments, then the solution is that humans should only ever live in small groups, that we should go back to being hunter-gatherers. The population of the planet is order of magnitudes, too large to support as hunter-gatherers, and this group of anarchists, either implicitly or frequently explicitly, are willing to countenance the death of the overwhelming majority of humans alive today in order to bring about their anarchist utopia. This type of anarchism got real popular for some reason in the 2010s, and the line between these guys and eco-fascists, is fine, permeable, and ultimately meaningless.
I am willing to guess that you are in the first group of anarchists, which makes you willfully ignorant and profoundly naive. I feel for you, because utopian visions and a world that refuses to live up to them are a very hard thing to deal with. You are ultimately exactly the kind of anarchist who prompted me to make this post, because people like you are annoying and incredibly frustrating to work with, because you are so disconnected from how humans and human societies actually work.
Sufficiantley advanced mutual aid is indistinguishable from government.

Brier, His Book by Jim Wayne Miller - Notes + Thoughts
Main Themes: displacement, heritage, esoteric knowledge, change, manipulation, faith
Images + Symbols: fish, water, forest, farm, garden, trains, cities, cars, coal mining, religion
The Faith of Fishermen pg. 17 What they see when they go down to the base of the dam in rubber suits, with helmets, air lines and weighted shoes to inspect the twenty0six gates and clear away debris--what they see, the divers say we wouldn't believe: catfish (they shake their heads remember-- ing), catfish lying like logs around those gates, up close against the concrete, catfish with heads as big as buckets ("We don't mess with 'em!"), eight, a hundred, a hundred and twenty-pounders, yellow eyes that glow in the underwater beam. But we believe. The divers are our priests. Ours is the faith of fishmen eager for any authoritative word. We need to know wonders are still alive at the base of the steel and concrete world we've made--a yellow-eyed whiskered wildness, something old and other, akin to what we feel, powerful, cold, living in the dark around the gates that regulate the rivers of our lives.
the first thing that comes to mind is the use of religion in this poem to give "authority" to the divers/fishermen - while many fishermen would jump at the chance to catch these monsters, they respect them
Because of the last 5 lines, the reader can gather that the respect comes from feeling akin or resonant with the catfish
The catfish/human parallel describes the feeling of being an animal at your core, and being trapped or limited by constructs of society
The limits of society/infrustructure is so sever that one is not expected to survive, and it is surprising to witness "wildness"
The Brier's Pictorial History of the Mountains pg. 47 Green wilderness rolling like an ocean. Moccasins moving along a buffalo trail. Deer slip down to a salt lick in the evening. A shot. Another and another. A wolf wheels on a mountain path, turned by the smell of gunsmoke. The creek of wagon wheels. A baby cries. Axes ring in the woods. A cabin rises in a circle of sunlight living in a clearing. Green trees pale before deadening axes. The woods fall back, heading for high ground. Fields follow, pushing the woods uphill, taking all the ground up to the rib rock. Lights burn in houses at the mouths of creeks, in cabins up the coves. School bells. Laughter of children on the road to school. A fiddle tune, a dance, stories, songs that still remember the Scottish border, the English towns, the great halls and the ocean. Timber crews move across the ridges. Rafted logs ride out on April floods. A locomotive pushes through the trees, following the path of first wagons. A Model-T rolls through a mountain town. A farmer leans his hoe against a stump, another unhitches a gray horse from a plow left standing in a thin-soiled, gullied field his grandfather plowed when it was newground. Radios start talking in the leaves. Coves and hollows empty toward coal camps. Men go underground. In coves and hollows, a plowpoint on a rockpile; a horsehair hanging on a staggering barbed-wire fence. A cabin leans and drifts. A spring and spring drain choke on fallen leaves. Fields grown old and tired give ground back to a generation of woods returning to claim them. A panther screams. White-eyed miners ride out of the shafts to meet the match of any hundred miners: a D-9 dozer roots along a ridge, finds the black vein and takes it from the top. Now coal camps where ten thousand lived before sink in on themselves like cabins in the coves, and like old fields, give up to the woods. A concrete sidewalk running beside a creek pitches, breaks; weeds grow out of the cracks. Smaller walks that turned off and rose, twelve steps up to a miner's house, rise now to woods. Squirrels chatter and the creek runs. Cut up and bleeding, the land lies breathing hard, in places torn and gouged beyond all healing, in others beautiful and blessed as ever. Already scouts from east and west, in search of water, have looked over the rim of hills. Like long hunters, they have stayed and seen, and sent word back to cities, turning the eyes of millions out in the world toward the mountains.
the poem follows a historical narrative of the land - which experiences change at the hands of humans, who are a part of the story of the land
something I loved about this poem was the personification of natural landscapes, how the woods retreated away from the fields, and once abandoned, the woods reclaimed - like a war or a tide, symbolizing the ebbs and flows of history
