Here's canon in-universe pronunciations for most character names I've mentioned more than once, the Faces of God, and Wardi provinces
(character names spoken in typical surname->given name order)
#I've gone back and forth on the pronunciations of Hibrides and Janeys and on the emphasis for Couya so this is it set in stone. For now#Also Wardi used to not have a flapped R but I kept finding myself using it anyway which honestly makes more sense with the linguistic#influences. You flap the R sound in almost all cases where it is both preceded and followed by a vowel sound (exceptions are on an#individual word scale) and most cases where it precedes a vowel. You Usually do not when it precedes a consonant.#So like the Rs in Hibrides and Tigran are flapped but not in Uryashta#A lot of these aren't Wardi names either but most are being pronounced here as they are in Wardi dialects (with the exception#of Ne-Dain Brakul (which would be harder on the 'Ne' and the L in Brakul) Etsushir (which wouldn't have the soft Y at the beginning#and would probably end with a flapped R] and Palo Apolynnon (which would use the /a/ sound instead of /æ/ and many dialects#would go with 'leen-non' instead of 'leenyon')
