grape: if you could take a vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?It feels boring to say, but I really just want to go back to the UK again! A little bit more than a fortnight, mostly in London, last July just whetted my appetite, really.

pomegranate: when do you feel the most confident?

I feel the most confident when I’m at work, and I’m doing a good job. This usually means that there’s a clean, happy sleeping baby somewhere in the vicinity, or a kid who has just grasped the power of metaphor for the first time, haha

my little brother was in the marines for a few years - I get it :( only made me hate the us military complex more, but I think a lot of people who hate it don't realise that the kids who've joined up are people too and they aren't individually responsible for all the decisions made by politicians. sending you sympathy and good wishes for your brother ❤️

@indifferentomens yeah my brother is a marine too......he is an incredibly smart, talented, hardworking human being, but we definitely disagree in worldview and i hate that he was so excited to use his skills to do things i dread to know. but....he’s still my baby brother. even when i agree with these people about the whole military machine, i still see my little brother in these conversations and i want him home safe, even while knowing that he might be doing terrible, terrible things. i just don’t know. there’s a lot of tension there that really can’t be resolved. anyway thank you <3

as someone who studied history & english lit at uni where shit like this was covered in the first semester that person’s posts were.... painful to read lmao. i hope they really are super young and not just terminally online

dfjdfhjdfh yeah, they probably/hopefully are. i feel a bit bad for aggressively sniping at them for adding a good faith analysis that probably made sense in the context of whatever the hell is going on in les mis fandom discourse. (also, recent posts about how they “just found out that r*b*sp**rre started a cult” - presumably in reference to the culte de l'être suprême lmao - makes me think trying to talk to them about basic facts about french history probably wouldn’t go over well either)
