lowkey need a criminal x agent plot. muse a is an obsessive killer who does it because all she wants is the agent, muse b, to herself. from harming the women he dates, to sending nudes of herself covered in blood or with the bloody item from trap phones, calling him right after she does it and letting him know that she wouldn’t do this if he was hers. but what happens if she’s been right up under his nose the whole time? what if she’s the cute, innocent neighbor that lives close by that he sees after a long day? the one muse b finds attractive, but never pursues because he’s so busy on this case? i don’t know i feel like this plot would be everything.

Please call me Marie. I have been in this wonderful RP for some years now. More than years then I care to count actually, haha. My journey started from right here on tumblr, took me to 1x1s on wechat and now I have landed on discord. I am ready for new plots and new plot partners. I will be active with each plot but just to make sure I don't over exert myself, and depending on the scene we are in, I will respond within a few hours or take a day or two between replies. tumblr → discord cheat sheet

this is roughly the post i wish i had when i was diving into discord a while ago and i had no idea what any terms meant relative to what i was used to in tumblr. there are probably better resources out there for this already. idk.

so from what i've seen in discord, you’ll usually have:

one server per partner. discord is mutual follows or bust, more or less.

'making a server' may sound intimidating but the hardest part is deciding which of you is going to do it and then coming up w/ a name tbh

rping without a server and inside discord dms is possible, just might just make ooc chat awkward. it’s basically rping in tumblr ims

if you make a server (big plus button on the left), you’ll need to send your partner an invite to it. you can just message them the link discord offers you

at least one channel in the server for ooc chat (the default #general works well for this)

roughly a channel per thread overall

channel categories to organize things w/ if you want. not required. i've seen all sorts of permutations for ooc chats and ic threads across categories. a good starting point may be just "ooc" and "ic" categories. general chat and nsfw/inspo channels in the ooc category, and rp threads in the ic category. you can also do per-ship categories with channels (threads) within them

historically i think there's been less focus on visuals as part of discord threads compared to tumblr. it was a bit more laid back because there's not as much room for formatting in discord, and including images is a bit more awkward. that may change considering any exodus from tumblr to discord will be nontrivially centered around visuals ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

discord is generally more private than indie accounts on tumblr. servers are private by default. no one can see your writing on a server, your formatting, how quickly or slowly you reply, etc, except your partner. they have way more in common with 1x1 rps than the indie rp scene tbh. i think the closest thing to an indie rp community in discord would be some kind of huge public server with a category per user. i don’t think that exists at this point
