A Han dynasty scholar & his son Jié become targets of the 'Shijian clan' after finding a jade talisman that transports its holder through time. The scholar takes his son to the future, returns alone, & hides the talisman for Jié to later retrieve. Thinking his treasures safe, he dies trying to stop the clan, but they pass on their legacy & a future generation tracks Jié down. Forced to run until the clan gives up or dies out, Jié continues to travel forward in time.
