The latest chapter had me wondering from the tidbit of Kyle nervous about taking John's knot, but can betas technically fit a knot in them?

I'd imagine with enough prep it would be a yes. It'd probably be a common kink in this universe given that we probably have toys like that irl 😭 (not 100 on that because not my thing really but I'd imagine it exists lmao)

But yeah, betas can take knots, but it would take a lot of prep and lube since it's a lot and their bodies aren't quite built for it like omegas are.

We've got some beautiful Black Forest cake pours for Black Friday!

Also a little peak at these fellas mid-painting! All our hand painting is done with the same silicone used for our toys. It's carefully applied with brushes to the inside of the mold, and then the rest of the toy is poured before the painted portions hit the end of their pot life/working time. That way the painting cures with the rest of the toy and they form one seamless piece! The trickiest part of hand painting is avoiding drips. Silicone definitely doesn't paint on like acrylics or watercolors, it's more like carefully laying a substance like slightly thicker maple syrup in a place and coaxing it to stay with sweet words and threats, while being careful your brush strokes don't show through and disrupt the clean crips lines.

In terms of conflict resolution gimmicks in tabletop RPGs, dice are always a classic, but I've also seen playing cards, tarot cards, party spinners, dominoes in both their matching-game and tip-them-to-make-other-dominoes-fall-over modes, coloured beads, coin flips, chess boards, dance-offs, stop-watches, Jenga towers, guessing games, public speaking, fire, knives, candy, baked goods, and in one notable case, a dildo covered in edible glitter which players compete to thwap with those little rubber sticky-hand things. I've played games which employ these devices in ways which emphasise random chance, games which employ them in ways which emphasise player skill, and a game whose method of resolving psychic powers was once criticised for affording unfair advantage to characters whose players are actually psychic. Though there's inevitably a sense of trepidation when pushing the boundaries of one's medium, I promise you, whatever goofy conflict resolution method you've come up with for your indie RPG probably isn't even the weirdest one to be published this week, let alone overall. The usual crowd is going to sniff and harrumph at anything that isn't "roll a single twenty-sided die plus modifiers versus a flat target number" anyway, so fuck 'em – do it for you.

Maybe I’m just getting older, but I really don't get this notion that people have when it comes to media criticism. 

Nobody is sitting here saying that all criticism is good and that you should listen to every piece of criticism you get. Because guess what? Not all criticism is argued in good faith, nor does anybody like getting criticized. 

But it’s important to learn how to deal with criticism, otherwise how are we supposed to improve? 

I also hate how some folks assume that just because I’m critical of Viv and her shows, then that must mean I have some sort of personal vendetta against her. When I really don’t. 

Truth be told, I legit hate that people think that I’m a Viv anti or that I only made this blog to criticize her shows. As anybody who actually bothered to browse through my archive would know that I’ve talked about (and criticized) other things that aren’t related to Viv. 

My life doesn’t revolve around Viv you guys, I don’t wake up every morning and think “I wonder what Viv is up to?” I just go about my day like every other human being. 

The reason I criticize Viv so much is that I’m genuinely curious as to why so many people within the animation industry hold her in such high regard. Is it because she came from an indie background? Do people love the “Indie creator gets her own show” narrative so much that they’re willing to overlook all her creative shortcomings? 

It’s weird watching the same folks who were dunking on Velma praise Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, because you damn well know that if Velma did the “Characters are in a room that’s decorated in dildos and vibrators” gag, Twitter would have a collective meltdown. 

And yet for some odd reason, Viv’s shows are held to such higher standards that I honestly start to wonder if all these industry professionals watched the same shows that I did. Because I’m struggling to think of a single Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss joke that genuinely got a laugh out of me. 

“But humor is subjective” okay, then why does Viv get so defensive whenever someone criticizes the humor that’s found in her shows? 

Really don’t understand why she goes out of her way to complain about her critics when she could easily ignore them. She’s under no obligation to respond to her critics, but she keeps vague posting about all the criticism she gets because she literally cannot handle getting criticized. 

Here’s the thing, Viv’s fans tend to assume that just because I'm critical of something that’s popular, then that means I don’t get criticized. When that certainly isn’t the case. 

I’ve been criticized for being critical of the current state of indie animation, I got a bunch of hate from racist nerds for liking the My Adventures With Superman version of Livewire, and recently someone responded with a full length essay to a post of mine that was critical of Primos. 

But the difference between me and Viv is that I don’t constantly post vague backhanded insults regarding my critics on social media. If I feel a piece of criticism is worth addressing, then I’ll address it and if not? Then I’m not going to bother. 

Trust me, I haven’t lost any sleep over the fact that a bunch of random internet folks don’t like me.

Here we have some Sakura Cows for our next drop!

If you're new to Fantasy Grove, you may be wondering, what makes them cows? Well, cow pours have become trendy in the indie toy scene in the last year or so, and usually involve one color for the shaft, and a split base of a different color with spots on it. There are a bunch of ways to do cows, some also have drips, some folks pour the spots and others hand paint them. There have been some amazing cows from our fellow indies with hand painted bells, or themed after delicious chocolate and strawberry milkshakes.

We love to hand paint our cow spots and do some out of the box variations, like our lavender cow, which had a little painted lavender sprig. Or neopolitan cow with a chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry feathered marble shaft. And now there's this Sakura cow! With a soft lantern glow shaft, a delicate pale purple sky base, and hand painted pink spots and cherry blossom branches. Cows are a great pour variety that lets us be creative, while fitting in with a cute aesthetic that can be found from a bunch of indie shops and allows folks to curate a whole cow collection.
