Premise: They’ve been silently flirting/ erotically teasing each other from opposite rooms in adjacent hotel buildings where their full-length windows/ glass window, faces directly across from each other. Neither wanted to be the one to cave in this little game, but he finally does, though how he feels about it is up to you!XD

Riley smirked mischievously as she opened the door half-ajar, after having peeked through her peep-hole to make sure that they were exactly who she was half-expecting to be there. “Didn’t actually think you finally have the balls to come over, “she taunted, purely joking with them. She was still dressed up in one of her new, sexy black lingerie outfits which she had been wearing when she was taking off her the gown she had worn for that latest, successful undercover operation, about half an hour ago. It was at that moment, she had very unexpectedly spied him looking at her smugly, right across her open, full-length windows, from a room in the building opposite her hotel. How he had fatefully ended up in a room that was right opposite her balcony’s viewing point, was something she had to figure out discreetly due to the fact that she had to be as careful as possible about her real job, but right now, caution was being thrown to wind carried by carnal desires, as her dark eyes now held nothing but lustful mischief. “I was nearly about to hop in the shower if you still didn’t show up in the next five minutes.”

I’m OP of 624182346490478592 and ngl, I’m gonna call the entitlement for what it is: entitlement. Maybe y’all don’t remember, but fandom culture has ALWAYS been counter to the mainstream. And that has always included ships (you needn’t look further than the first fandom zine). Yes, m/m is popular. But m/f is also popular. If you check blogs like roleplayfinder and counted the submissions, you’ll see that most of the time people are open to every relationship type, while the people who specify them tend to be split half half. If you scroll the indie tags, you’ll find a similar pattern. The only thing is that rp ads on rp finder blogs tend to also permit doubles (a ‘you play what I want and I play what you want’ situation) where your standard 1x1 indie single muse blog tends to be just “I write one muse and you write one muse”, which from a statistical standpoint, if everyone wanted to be able to ship what they want, and assuming we want an equal amount of m/m and m/f at the end of the day, we need THREE TIMES the number of male muses as there are female muses. This is just… not the case. It’s split probably more like 50/50 or 60/40 (m to f), but either way it’s nowhere near the perfect 75/25 ratio for all m/m and m/f shippers to have one exclusive ship partner. This obviously doesn’t take into consideration: 1, people tend to want multiple ship partners, 2, f/f ships, and 3, the muse’s actual sexuality which can be anything, really. Basically, the numbers just don’t add up. That’s why m/m shippers think there’s too much m/f and why m/f shippers think there’s too much m/m. Also, there have been multiple confessions about straight male muses wanting female muses to ship with them, like y’all should find each other or something lol or maybe you’re being picky, which is your right, but if you’re both picky and a whiner, people are obviously gonna get annoyed with you. It’s just like those people who complain they have no rp partners, but ghosted everyone who tried to rp with them and never attempt to reach out. It’s just not a good look and that’s why I’m peeved with y’all.

But that’s just from a numerical standpoint.

From a social standpoint, all the whining from m/f shippers comes off as rude at best and outright hypocritical at worst. “M/m is just about dick”, well, check the indie tags, a significant number of m/f starters are about getting dick too. “Stop writing m/m for woke points” ok so are we thirsty or are we trying to be “woke”? “Writing m/m gives you no woke points” ok so, apparently all m/m is “woke points” or “thirsty gay porn”, unless it is specifically vetted by (general) you as a “verified non thirsty non woke point ship” which is, in fact, gatekeeping at it’s finest. What business is it that someone writes m/m?? Just move on! There are other fish in the sea! And if you really want m/f why not just search m/f indie rp or something in the tags? Oh right, I almost forgot—only female muses and males you don’t want to ship with are in that tag, which is why m/m is the scapegoat y’all love to blame for the fact that everyone is selfish and that doubles rp doesn’t exist in the indie Tumblr rp scene.

Finally, from the viewpoint of someone who does, in fact, on occasion browse through non-Tumblr (or just general non fandom related) content, being straight is the social default, not that it’s the right one, but it is right now. Everything is geared towards straight people and assumed to be so by everybody. That’s why I’m saying Tumblr is fucking backwards.

Tbh though, I can’t even say “only on Tumblr” anymore bc ”I’m tired of everything being m/m” reads exactly like the people irl who are like “everything’s about the gays/blacks/minorities now, I wish we could go back to writing about NORMAL people”. So it’s y’all’s vibes that are off here. It just reeks of entitlement and personally, I’m rather sick of it. Nobody is entitled to a ship, and if you think you deserve a ship partner simply by existing and that the reason why your female muse can’t get dick is bc every male muse is gay, well, do I really really need to remind everyone about this subreddit called r/incel?
