The new government in Maharashtra will be in place sooner than expected, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut signalled on Wednesday, trimming the ‘first week of December’ timeline that he had indicated just a day earlier for Maharashtra’s grand alliance to be sealed.“I can tell you that the process of government formation will be completed in the next five-six days and a popular government will be formed before December,” Sanjay Raut told reporters in national capital Delhi amid speculation about a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nationalist Congress Party boss Sharad Pawar.Farmers distress, and not politics, is on the agenda of the meeting.It has still sparked off a buzz given that it comes just when Pawar’s NCP, Congress and the Shiv Sena are in the middle of discussions to form an unusual alliance in Maharashtra. It also comes days after Pawar sought to play down the NCP-Congress’ talks with the Sena while PM Modi heaped praises on Sharad Pawar’s party for the conduct of its leaders in Parliament.Sanjay Raut signalled that no politics should be read into these developments or Pawar’s meeting.ALSO WATCH: Soon an ideal govt will be formed in Maharashtra under Shiv Sena: Sanjay Raut“If a leader meets the prime minister, it doesn’t mean that something is cooking. Those stopped from looting public money are forming 'mahagathbandhan': PM Modi

SILVASSA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday targeted the 'mahagathbandhan' (grand alliance) mulled by opposition parties, calling it a combine of those he prevented from looting India. He also took potshots at the TMC's opposition rally in Kolkata while addressing a public function at Silvassa, the capital of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. "My actions against corruption made some people angry as I prevented them from looting public money. They have formed the 'mahagathbandhan'," Modi said. "In Bengal, BJP has only one MLA but they are so afraid of us that they are saying 'bachao' (save us)," he said. "When those involved in suffocating democracy talk of saving it, then people will say 'wah kya baat hai'," he said. "Those who used to criticise Congress have come together now. This mahagathbandhan is not against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but it is against the people of India. Not all of them have come on stage yet but the 'deals' have already started," said the PM. PM Modi said that the men, women and the first-time voters are watching the opposition leaders closely and they can see the real fight. "This fight is between positive thinking and negative attitude. This fight is between development and corruption. This fight is between the public and the general body," said PM Modi. He added that formation of the mahagathbandhan is a consequence of his actions which have infuriated some people. "It's but natural for them to get angry as I've prevented them from looting public money. While speaking at the Jammu and Kashmir assembly, chief minister Mahbooba Mufti said "whatever the state will get, it will get from India only, Jammu and Kashmir will not get anything from any other country".

She asked the people of the state that if they do not accept India's constitution, Jammu and Kashmir's constitution, which constitution are they going to follow? 

She also said that Jammu and Kashmir had the most empowered assembly in the country. Referring to the Goods and Services Tax (GST), she said it was implemented in the entire country at one go but that it came to Jammu and Kashmir only after a proper debate in the assembly.
