भारत और न्यूजीलैंड के बीच पांच मैचों की टी-20 इंटरनेशनल सीरीज का तीसरा मुकाबला हेमिल्टन के सेडॉन पार्क में खेला ��ाएगा. यह मुकाबला कल बुधवार 29 जनवरी को दोपहर 12:30 बजे से खेला जाएगा. भारत अगर तीसरा टी-20 इंटरनेशनल मैच भी जीत लेता है, तो वह न्यूजीलैंड की धरती पर इतिहास रच देगा. इस मैच में जीत के साथ भारत पहली बार न्यूजीलैंड की धरती पर कीवियों के खिलाफ द्विपक्षीय टी-20 इंटरनेशनल सीरीज फतह कर लेगा.

भारत के पास इतिहास रचने का मौका

भारत अब तक न्यूजीलैंड की धरती पर द्विपक्षीय टी-20 इंटरनेशनल सीरीज नहीं जीत पाया है. भारत और न्यूजीलैंड के बीच मौजूदा टी-20 सीरीज से पहले सिर्फ दो द्विपक्षीय टी-20 इंटरनेशनल सीरीज खेली गई हैं. इन दोनों ही टी-20 सीरीज में भारत को न्यूजीलैंड के हाथों हार का सामना करना पड़ा. एक द्विपक्षीय टी-20 इंटरनेशनल सीरीज साल 2008-2009 में खेली गई थी. दो मैचों की इस टी-20 सीरीज में भारत को 0-2 से हार झेलनी पड़ी थी. इसके बाद भारत को 2018-2019 में खेली गई टी-20 इंटरनेशनल सीरीज में न्यूजीलैंड ने 2-1 से हराया था.

भारत ने ऐसे कसा शिकंजा

बता दें कि मौजूदा टी-20 सीरीज के पहले मुकाबले में भारत ने न्यूजीलैंड को 6 विकेट से शिकस्त दी थी. इसके बाद दूसरे टी-20 मैच को भी 7 विकेट से जीतकर भारत ने न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ पांच मैचों की टी-20 सीरीज में 2-0 से बढ़त हासिल कर ली. भारत की यह टीम अभी बेहतरीन फॉर्म में है और 2019 वनडे वर्ल्ड कप के बाद उसने जो पांच टी-20 सीरीज खेली हैं उनमें उसने शानदार प्रदर्शन किया है. इनमें मौजूदा सीरीज भी शामिल है. इस बीच उसने केवल दक्षिण अफ्रीका के खिलाफ सीरीज नहीं जीती.

5-0 से जीत ही भारत को चौथे नंबर पर पहुंचाएगी

यह सीरीज 1-1 से बराबर छूटी थी जबकि एक मैच बारिश की भेंट चढ़ गया था. टी20 क्रिकेट में अच्छी फॉर्म में होने के बावजूद आईसीसी रैकिंग में भारत की स्थिति में कोई खास बदलाव नहीं आया. भारत अभी टी-20 रैंकिंग में पांचवें स्थान पर है और उसे चौथे स्थान पर पहुंचने के लिए वर्तमान सीरीज 5-0 से जीतनी होगी.

न्यूजीलैंड अभी छठे स्थान पर है जबकि पाकिस्तान, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, इंग्लैंड और दक्षिण अफ्रीका रैंकिंग तालिका में भारत से आगे हैं. सभी की निगाहें ऑस्ट्रेलिया में इस साल होने वाले टी-20 वर्ल्ड कप पर है, लेकिन टीम मैनेजमेंट को विश्वास है कि इस महत्वपूर्ण टूर्नामेंट से पहले सही समय पर सारी चीजें ढर्रे पर आ रही है.

केएल राहुल और श्रेयस अय्यर कर रहे हैं धमाका

केएल राहुल और श्रेयस अय्यर के विशेषकर इस दौरे में प्रदर्शन से इन चीजों को बल मिला है. इसे देखते हुए तीसरे मैच के लिए भारतीय टीम में किसी बड़े बदलाव की संभावना नहीं है. मंगलवार को वैकल्पिक अभ्यास का दिन था और कप्तान विराट कोहली, केएल राहुल, युजवेंद्र चहल, मोहम्मद शमी और जसप्रीत बुमराह ने इसमें भाग नहीं लिया.

क्या कुलदीप यादव की होगी वापसी?

टीम मैनेजमेंट उन खिलाड़ियों के साथ काम कर रहा है जिन्हें सीरीज में अभी तक खेलने का मौका नहीं मिला है. रवि शास्त्री ने वॉशिंगटन सुंदर पर ध्यान दिया जबकि बल्लेबाजी कोच विक्रम राठौड़ विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज ऋषभ पंत के साथ व्यस्त थे. इन दोनों को हालांकि बुधवार को भी मौका मिलने की संभावना नहीं है.

कुलदीप यादव पहले दो मैचों में नहीं खेले थे और ऐसा मैदान छोटा होने के कारण किया गया था. छोटे मैदान पर बल्लेबाज उन्हें आसानी से निशाना बन सकते थे. चहल ने इस बीच बहुत अच्छी गेंदबाजी की. अब मैच बड़े मैदानों पर खेले जाएंगे और देखना होगा कि कुलदीप की वापसी ��ोती या नहीं है. वैसे चहल और यादव की एक साथ खेलने की संभावना कम है.

बुमराह के सामने कमजोर न्यूजीलैंड

जहां तक न्यूजीलैंड का सवाल है तो कोलिन डी ग्रैंडहोम के पास प्रभाव छोड़ने का यह आखिरी मौका होगा. अंतिम दो टी-20 के लिए बल्लेबाज टॉम ब्रूस इस ऑलराउंडर की जगह लेंगे. ग्रैंडहोम इस सीरीज में बल्लेबाज के तौर पर खेले, लेकिन उन्होंने शून्य और तीन रन बनाए. भारत के पहले दो मैचों में सफलतापूर्वक लक्ष्य हासिल करने के बावजूद न्यूजीलैंड गेंदबाजों के प्रदर्शन से चिंतित नहीं है.

न्यूजीलैंड की सबसे बड़ी चिंता भारतीय गेंदबाजों विशेषकर जसप्रीत बुमराह से निबटना है. दोनों मैचों में उसके बल्लेबाज बुमराह की गेंदों को समझने में नाकाम रहे थे. न्यूजीलैंड का वैसे सेडॉन पार्क में रिकॉर्ड अच्छा रहा है. यहां अभी तक उसने जो नौ टी-20 खेले हैं, उनमें से सात में उसने जीत दर्ज की. वह भारत को अजेय बढ़त हासिल करने से रोकने की कोशिश करेगा.

भारतीय कप्तान विराट कोहली न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ मौजूदा वनडे सीरीज के आखिरी दो वनडे से बाहर हो गए हैं. पांच वनडे मैचों की सीरीज के चौथे (31 जनवरी) और पांचवें वनडे (3 फरवरी) में वह नहीं खेलेंगे, उन्हें आराम दिया गया है. इतना ही नहीं वनडे सीरीज के बाद कीवियों के खिलाफ 6 फरवरी से शुरू होने वाली तीन टी-20 मैचों की सीरीज में भी वह नहीं खेलेंगे.

विराट कोहली की गैरमौजूदगी में रोहित शर्मा टीम इंडिया की कप्तानी करेंगे, जिनके पास भारतीय टीम की कप्तानी का अच्छा अनुभव है. रोहित ने 2017-2018 के दौरान 8 वनडे मैचों में भारत का नेतृत्व किया है और 7 मुकाबले जीते हैं. जबकि 12 वनडे इंटरनेशनल में से 11 में रोहित ने कप्तान के तौर पर भारत को जीत दिलाई है.

हाल में पीठ और गर्दन में तकलीफ से जूझ चुके कोहली को टीम प्रबंधन ने आराम देने का फैसला किया है. प्रबंधन वर्ल्ड कप से पहले कोई जोखिम नहीं लेना चाहता. 30 साल का यह नंबर-1 बल्लेबाज खुद को फिट रखने के लिए गंभीर है. भारत का न्यूजीलैंड दौरा खत्म होने के बाद 24 फरवरी से ऑस्ट्रेलियाई टीम का भारत दौरा होने वाला है.

चयन समिति और टीम प्रबंधन ने पिछले दो महीनों में विराट के व्यस्त कार्यक्रम को देखते हुए यह फैसला किया. इस दौरान उन्होंने भारत को ऑस्ट्रेलिया में टेस्ट और द्विपक्षीय वनडे सीरीज में पहली बार जीत दिलाई.

बीसीसीआई ने एक बयान में कहा, ‘पिछले कुछ महीनों में विराट के कार्यभार को देखते हुए टीम प्रबंधन और सीनियर चयन समिति का यह विचार था कि ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ घरेलू सीरीज से पहले उन्हें उचित आराम दिया जाना आदर्श होगा.’

इसके अनुसार, ‘न्यूजीलैंड सीरीज के लिए टीम में कोहली की जगह किसी अन्य खिलाड़ी को शामिल नहीं किया जाएगा. रोहित शर्मा अंतिम दो वनडे और टी-20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीरीज में टीम के कप्तान होंगे.’

विराट को सितंबर में एशिया कप के लिए भी ब्रेक दिया गया था और रोहित ने संयुक्त अरब अमीरात में टीम की अगुवाई करते हुए टीम को खिताब दिलाया था. भारतीय खिलाड़ियों का मई से जुलाई तक होने वाले विश्व कप के लिए कार्यक्रम काफी व्यस्त है.

न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ मौजूदा दौरे से पहले भारत 24 फरवरी से ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ पांच वनडे की मेजबानी करेगा और इसके तुरंत बाद आईपीएल आयोजित किया जाएगा. भारत ने बुधवार को न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ शुरुआती मैच में जीत दर्ज कर भारत के खिलाफ मौजूदा वनडे सीरीज में 1-0 से बढ़त बना ली है.

Donald Trump's Pakistan tirade: New Delhi has to fight its own battle with Islamabad, can't outsource it to the US

That an incumbent of the White House has finally figured out the obvious with regard to Pakistan offering refuge to terrorists is heartening but it cannot define Indiaâs foreign policy vis-a-vis its neighbour. There is no connection. The decision to pull back on the $255 million by Washington which it had earmarked for Pakistan is mutually exclusive from what New Delhi does and it does not wind in our sails for which we should be grateful. And it certainly is not grounds for any jubilation apart from a weary 'We told you so'.

While it is salutary in that it exposes Pakistanâs intents to one of its greatest allies letâs not be naive. This is not something American administrations have just realised. It is certainly not a eureka moment and we would be very shortsighted to conclude that President Donald Trump cannot change his mind again. Relations between Islamabad and Washington have been a fence with sharply pointed ups and sagging downs before so even this hold up is not forever. Its media is blatantly hostile and news stories on TV dramatically slanted. Pakistan has never told us where the missing 54 Indian soldiers from 1971 are. In contrast, we returned 93,000 Pakistanis in uniform from the east. The latest in these misdeeds was the shabby treatment of the Jadhav wife and mother and it was again our failure to protect them adequately that allowed Pakistan to score cheap shots at the expense of Indian feminine customs. If you recall, it was nearly into the second day when our protests gained traction. The briefing and the protests should have followed instantly not as an afterthought. And knowing our history with this neighbour more precautions should have been taken before sending them.

Even after so many years of being fooled by pretence if we seek to clasp the coat-tails of another nation that has never given us a fair deal with Pakistan we are betraying ourselves. The Americans can redo their foreign policy sums any way they want and so must we, separate from this development. The tendency to hit back has to be replaced with a primary recognition that Islamabad cannot and will not change. With that in mind, Indiaâs policies have to stop dithering mid-stream and mean business in a unilateral fashion.

Waiting for the US to do it for us is not only a dangerous premise it underscores the depth of the rut we have placed ourselves in despite three wars.
