How will we prepare the younger generation for what lies ahead? . How will they frame reality? Where will their morals, and convictions about right and wrong be formed? How will they determine good and evil? William is 8 years old. . Today at church he boldly walked up to the stage and grabbed the mic. . In a fleeting moment that image gripped me with a startling awareness, one day the accumulated grooming, conditioning and lifestyle practices (if not steeped in a biblical foundation) will give voice to what he believes. . The world is all to willing to feed the minds of vulnerable hearts. . The living word makes an admonition: Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. . . . #trainupachild #wisdom #makeyourearattentivetowisdom #insight #understanding #training #attentive listening #inclineyourear #seekwisdom #prepareyourheart #lovetruth #seekunderstanding #57pearls (at Caldwell, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBKP8uqD1ue/?igshid=1wwhhxd6kirga

Have you ever found that it’s really hard to pay attention? Maybe you think you think your boss or teacher is really boring and speaks in a monotone voice. Or perhaps when talking to friends, you struggle listening to conversations about things you aren’t interested in. Focusing your attention on something or someone takes effort. Being attentive is something were supposed to do with God’s words. We are to listen to them carefully. Not just sort of half listen but really listen to them. We should get them down in our hearts and then let those words affect our daily lives. God’s words should be a part of what we think, do and say. It’s when we really let the Bible get into our heart that it has the power to change us. So if you’ve not really listened and thought about God’s words, challenge yourself to do it. -Student Devos #Proverbs4 #ServingJesusChrist #InclineYourEar
