A rather stunning parrot flitted onto the witch's windowsill, beginning to preen in a way that would look like ordinary bird behavior to anyone who had never actually seen a real bird. Despite it's awkwardness, by all appearances it was a regular parrot, definitely able to pass as a lost pet — until the bird cocked its head back and /screamed/. "Hewwo?! HEWWO?!"

      For the first few moments, Natalie could only stare at what was, clearly, no ordinary bird. She’d seen toddlers give a closer approximation of bird behaviour, before – this one seemed to be having a particularly violent seizure, if not a phallic fixation with ramming it’s head into it’s own armpit. Wing pit?    Whatever. Point was, jamming it’s beak in and out of the space beneath it’s wing wasn’t really coming off as ‘natural’, and she grimaced, wrinkling her nose at the sight. 

     What sort of moron had let their parrot loose in the city? Had they left the window open, and the poor brain damaged thing had fallen out? Should she, she wondered, try to catch it? It would be an odd circumstance to have to print out “Hey I found your bird” flyers, but she supposed if she owned a special needs parrot that escaped, she would appreciate the effort. 

     So, heaving a sigh, she pushed up and off of the chair she’d been lounging in, lifting both hands and pondering on how best to try and catch it. She was about two steps away from it, then, hands raised to either grab for it or cast a spell, when it screamed. 

     Her voice joined in and she stumbled backward, reaching out for something to balance herself. She caught the edge of the small wooden table that held her lamp, launching it like a teeter totter into open and empty space. The lamp went careening to the floor and the table rolled to the side as she hit the ground hard, calling upon any spell she could think of in her panic. Thankfully, it arced wide, turning her curtain rod into a stunned serpent that couldn’t quite figure out how to slither and instead rolled away like a stick beneath her couch.      “BEN!!” She KNEW it was him. It had to be him. She didn’t exactly know any other shape shifters, after all – and who else would turn into a bird just to MEME at her from her window?     “You filthy little MEMELORD, you’re DEAD!”

             WHY IS IT THAT SOME KIDS ARE SO UNGRATEFUL ? The old soldier is merely looking out for the other, knowing full well the consequences ( an unclear mind, heavy eyelids, crippling headaches, loss of memory, a weak body, and more ) of sleep deprivation; it is not something he wishes upon other people. However, it seems that his concern is taken for nagging instead, much to his own annoyance. Helping out people nowadays seems to be more trouble than its worth.

             Hidden eyes roll at the other’s comment, a sharp huff accompanying the gesture. Arms cross over his broad chest, gaze averting.  ❝  Whatever you say.  ❞  Some lessons are better off learned through experience.

General Opinion:

          Fun fact; once upon a time I hated Ike/Akane, mostly because I have other ships that I prefer for Ike but once I was allowed to make my own version of Akane and really looked over all the fanart Sylvi made... Gods it’s my f/m otp for Akane. I think they’d be pretty awkward with each other in the beginning; struggling to move from platonic to romantic, struggling to accept the changes within themselves as they grew closer together, each side wanting the best for the other but not knowing how to do it.

          I think they’d balance each other out well; they’d learn to make compromises, there’d be no bullshit between them and even if they disagreed (as frequent or infrequently as it may or may not happen) I believe they’d be honest with each other and their adoration for each other would help guide them through making things right. Plus they’d make such a kickass battle couple, like watch out with them as a team you’d better be scared |: And I believe they’d make good parents as well tbh.

         I don’t know I guess it’s just a little hard to explain but I feel that they have good chemistry, and though they (of course) wouldn’t be perfect they’d have a strong long running relationship : > And they’d have cute as fuck kids :U

⍤ : What does your muse’s voice sound like? Is it light? High pitched? Scratchy? Deep? 

     BEING as I am terrible at describing voices, allow me to direct you to the voice work of Nolan North, specifically in his work as Raphael in the 2007 movie TMNT. I’m not 100% sold on the voice, but -- I don’t imagine Guzma’s voice is SUPER deep, nor super scratchy. Somewhere that’s a good, neutral middle ground for both qualities while still sounding ‘light’ is where I place it. 

⚯ : Does your muse have good eyesight? If not, what is it like? Are they nearsighted or farsighted? Or both? Do they use glasses? Or do they prefer contacts? 

     Guzma actually has really good eyesight. You’d think it’d be terrible, since he runs around squinting at people and bugs all the time, but -- no. He can actually see rather well! The glasses are purely for Aesthetic™

📐 : Is your muse good at math? Do they like it, or do they hate it? 

     If you ask him? He hates it. Quietly, though, Guzma is GOOD at math, so long as someone takes the time to teach him properly. He’s not good enough to teach himself concepts, but he does catch on quickly once he’s taught. 

     He’s still terrible with money, though -- this has less to do with him not being able to do calculations, and more with his irresponsible habits. 

☆ : Of the sun, stars, and the moon, which is your muse’s favorite?

     He likes the stars. As great as the sun and moon both are, he finds them uninteresting to look at, whereas the stars offer him great entertainment while he’s awake at night. He likes to look at them like one might clouds & find shapes in them, like he’s playing connect the dots.

If anything, said sniveling snake was more of a threat than the messy haired male afront him, given the very short, yet very much real history his girlfriend and his most hated enemy had together. Seto trusted Natalie with his life, and knew she would not approach them herself, but such did not mean he trusted either one of these goons to keep their hands off of her. Indeed, Natalie was more than capable of defending herself should she be forced into an undesirable situation, but, quite frankly, the brunette would prefer to avoid running the risk of it happening ENTIRELY.

          Just the THOUGHT of anybody’s lips but his own pressing to her succulent set… it was a wonder his head hadn’t burst aflame yet.

“Move the hell out of my way.” — not that Ben was standing there, acting as an obstacle between the sharp-eyed man and the doorway, necessarily, as there was plenty of room for Seto to simply trudge around him - ah, but that was taking the easy way out, now wasn’t it? He’s going to go out of his way to shove the other male as he breezes past him, fully intending on ( first ) seeking out Natalie, and then locking her in his office for the remainder of the day under some very much exaggerated excuse that he hadn’t quite concocted in full, yet.

     She’d been drawn outside by a crash, the sound of garbage cans being knocked over. Wynn’s first thought had been raccoons, since they tended to cause enough trouble after hours, especially the night before trash day. It was with a broom in hand that the lycan slipped out, intending to frighten the creatures off, if not with the broom, then perhaps with the aura of a predator. It seemed to work well enough on dogs for the most part, so perhaps other animals would be susceptible as well.

     What she spotted beneath the street lamp, however, was not a raccoon, but something bigger. Wynn thought it to be a wolf at first, until she realized that the size was off - while canine in shape, the animal was a big small for a wolf, though it certainly wasn’t a common dog. No, this looked more like... a coyote?

     Strange, she’d never seen one in town before. Outside of it, where her grandparents lived, yes, but this far into the city? Odd. Brows furrowed slightly as she moved to step forward, only to pause as a breeze carried an unusual scent to her nose - one that didn’t belong to an animal of any sort, and had the hair on her body standing on end.

     It had her stopping, uncertain as to whether or not she should proceed further. Caution led her instincts, though there was a hint of curiosity as well - perhaps it was simply her nose playing tricks on her, or maybe...

     Magic? It was what echoed in her head as the girl took another tentative step forward, fingers gripping the handle of the broom - a rather pointless notion, considering that the lycan could simply use her own claws if it came down to needing to defend herself. Taking a deep breath, the girl clicked her tongue slightly to get the coyote’s attention, watching its form carefully.

     Hopefully, this wasn’t about to end terribly.

     Ben, without any shame or apology, takes some of whatever Nat is eating if it is not in her hands – and, sometimes, even if it is. She’s pretty short and usually texting or looking at her phone to make sure Seto doesn’t need anything, or that things are being completed on schedule, so it’s absolutely possible (and likely) for him to lean over her shoulder and take a big ol’ bite out of whatever she’s having for lunch.

     If Seto’s in the room, it’s absolutely Ben, specifically to get him to make that one face. It honestly gives him fuel to live. Nat isn’t sure why Seto falls for it every time. You’d think he’d get used to it, at some point, but – no. No, he does not.

     Nat and Ben are both the kind of people who decide that someone honking at them at a stop sign means they need to pretend their car stalled & thus just never. move. So like.   I have no idea. They’d both be in jail. Someone else would have to get them out, or they’d escape together?? like. Man. The worst children in daycare. 

who gives the other advice/comfort about dating issues

     Ben inevitably gets to listen to Nat gush/rant/rave about her various issues, because she a) can’t keep her mouth shut she has to yell to someone and she’s not going to go to Mokuba to tell him that his brother’s being an absolute cocksucker and of course b) she trusts him. So, his options are sit & listen like a good bro (which he does, I’m like 80% sure) either silently, or with opinions. And, since Ben is like 99% opinion/bad ideas, you know he wouldn’t keep his mouth shut. So, he probably ends up giving way more advice or comfort than Nat does, though she would probably rocket through the roof if she found out there was someone he had a crush on.     ( She’s already pretty obnoxious about pointing out people he should get with. If her suggestions were ever vindicated she’d probably go supernova you don’t even know. )

     Nat is both an EXTREMELY petty, competitive child, and also extraordinarily flexible. If you don’t think she sticks her feet in people’s face while she’s playing mario kart, you are so wrong it’s gotta hurt. The good news is, Ben isn’t afraid to give her a good elbow in the ribs when she deserves it, so like. Them playing anything other than co-op games is basically half video game and half WWE match.

     Ben. He probably likes to hang off of the top bunk like an escaped monkey from the zoo, lbr. On the other hand, though, I HC that they cuddle a lot so like. The bottom bunk is probably relegated to all of their luggage/belongings & shit and they both just sleep up there in a big ab-having dog pile.

    Pillows are a great way to shut Nat up mid-rant because she’ll get super distracted from what she was yelling about in order to do her damnedest to triumph over the pillow thrower, so like. When Ben gets tired of listening to her, he’ll just throw a pillow at her –    And absolutely, she makes sure to finish it.

10. Neuroses? Do they recognize them as such?

As a general rule, she does. She considers the symptoms (anxiety, hysteria, depression) to be signs of mental illness in someone, and so does recognise neuroses. However she doesn’t have any actual experience around people with such disorders, so while in theory she understands it, in practicality, she may not.

In a real life scenario, its likely she won’t recognise it as mental illness. This is purely due to a lack of experience with the matter, not due to a lack of open-mindedness. On the contrary, she is very open-minded when it comes to this sort of thing, but due to her inability to understand the depth fully, makes may be made.

11. Intellectual pursuits?

There isn’t a whole lot that Mallow aims for in terms of knowledge. Her goals for information intertwine with her general plan; that is to say she wishes to learn more and improve as a chef so she can take that knowledge and become head chef at the restaurant. Any wants she has in terms of intellect are there purely so she can improve her current self (ie, learning how to cook or how to help on the ranch better).

However she does have a fondness for literature. She enjoys to ask her family and Olivia (since she sees her in some regards as a role model) for the hidden meaning behind certain parts of stories. A hobby of her’s is actually creating short stories and trying to cram as much detail and hidden meaning in it as possible.

12. Favorite book genre?

Cookbooks. She actually enjoys mystery novels. Trying to figure out motives, along with the causes and effects of a scenario is something she tends to enjoy doing; its like doing a mental jigsaw in her head. The more creative way narratives are strung and how a seemingly simple scenario can be flipped on its head with just one extra piece of evidence is definitely something she likes to see; it allows her to improve her sense of writing herself.

She also likes fantasy settings due to the countless possibilities they can inhibit; no two worlds ever line up. The sheer volume of stories than can be told in a single world is also amazing to her, and it urges her to continue reading books within a single franchise.

       I’m gonna take a moment to expand on something mentioned in the ‘misc’ section of Akane’s about page! Cats are creepy; they stare at you and they’re usually assholes who only care about a few people, there’s lots of superstitions about them and while some of them are cute Akane would rather just. Not deal with them kaythanks. Dogs are either idiots; cute, scary or a combination of all three, they’re predictable in a way but yet unpredictable and again she’d just rather not deal with them.

      Bugs are her worst enemy. They’re creepy, crawly and gross; small spiders are usually gross, same with the weird long legged ones- bigger spiders are okay because they get rid of bugs and also they’re actually a little cute sometimes. Akane really likes snakes and bunnies the most; snakes are interesting and can be really pretty, bunnies are cute and soft while not being creepy like other furred animals. She doesn’t have any pets because she travels so much but when she finally settles down one day she’ll likely have herself a pet rabbit for her child to have as a companion (unless she somehow changes her mind on a cat or dog) along with a few others such as a horse and maybe a pretty bird.
