399 recommendations made in 1991 and none of these have been implemented today.

This state was founded on genocide and the removal of Indigenous children from their families. And the rates of incarceration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children shows that the stolen generation is more prominent now than ever.

The programs will follow the four new freedoms created for For Freedoms’ 2020 Awakening campaign and their work beyond: #Listening, #Awakening, #Healing, and #Justice.

These #conversations, moderated by @devonp2cp, accompany artist @cobykennedy’s new sculptural installation in tribute to the tragic story of 17-year old #KaliefBrowder, who was wrongfully imprisoned on Rikers Island without trial and subjected to 700 days of solitary confinement. Two years after his release, Browder committed suicide. By inviting a dynamic roster of #artists, #activists, and #experts to conduct open dialogues with one another, we hope to collectively envision a transformed world without prisons.
