i've taken a lot of inspiration from vampire: the masquerade (a world of darkness ttrpg somewhat akin to d&d). like soooo much. v:tm has unfortunately taken up so much of my brainspace. also sorry, this answer got long as hell <3 as far as jasper himself goes, he's fairly stand-offish, he likes hiding, being sneaky; but once he befriends you there's no way in hell you're getting rid of him. he also probably comes off a little strange, or he feels like he does, thanks to the heightened senses of a vampire in turn spurring his anxiety on. outside of v:tm lore!! in general!! no his fangs are not retractable, no he can't go out or be awake during the day, and no his body is not made of stone... on the other hand, yes there's blood tears, yes there's a significantly higher level of durability, speed, and strength, and yes there are supernatural abilities that can affect the minds of others. in my/jasper's understanding, humans aren't allowed to know that vampires exist (though there can and probably will be exceptions in my/jasper's book). in relation to feeding, i do like the take that the hunger/thirst for blood will never truly go away, unless he completely drains the person he's feeding from, which would indeed kill them. there's a lot of info under the cut relating specifically to v:tm, but the most relevant ability jasper has (aka the one he most often uses) is the ability to become almost if not completely invisible to the average eye; i've elaborated more under the cut.

in reference to v:tm specifically, as a quick run-down on the general lore, a vast majority of it is based on traditional vampire folklore, but there are (as of v5) 14 different clans that have different (but overlapping) subsects of abilities and have various banes relating to aforementioned folklore. but for now i'll stick to explaining the basics of jasper's clan: malkavians. in short, they're stereotyped as "crazy", their clan bane being that of delusions or in some cases visions. typical abilities for the clan include things like supernatural visions (seeing ghosts/magic, receiving visions), afflicting the mind (affecting memory, enforcing commands), and hiding in plain sight (this would be jasper's favorite ability lol). things jasper specifically can do as a malkavian include: seeing magic or ghosts that are typically not visible to the average eye (sense the unseen); essentially erase the past five to ten-ish minutes of a person's memory (cloud memory); become completely invisible to the average eye while standing still and silent (cloak of shadows*); and move around unnoticeably if not invisibly in accordance to the average eye (unseen passage**). *ability is broken if he moves or makes a sound **ability is broken if he speaks louder than a whisper or physically interacts with an object not already on his person */** both abilities render essentially useless if someone uses an ability akin to sense the unseen

1. he uses a canon eos 5d mark iv dslr camera for work, and a canon eos rebel t7 dslr for his personal use. 2. in high school, his friends (specifically frankie and zoey) practically forced him to audition for their school's rendition of rent. he was originally cast as the man (the drug dealer in the show), but the role had to be recast since jasper was the only one on lights/sound crew. 3. if he was to play d&d, he would choose to be a teifling rogue.
