Taking the original post out of context is so fucking disgusting (THIS IS A FRACTION OF A REPLY THAT WAS WRITTEN IN RESPONSE TO SOMEONE AND DID NOT CRITICIZE CRIMEW OR ITS WORK BUT INSTEAD THE WHITE, WESTERN REACTION TO IT FOR BEING JUVENILE), and posting that here where you could have just as easily made this worthless post with a generic strawman. Mocking a person of color from the global south expressing frustration and grief over the attitudes of white western leftists is so telling, and it’s frankly disgusting how many so-called leftists who claim international solidarity are reblogging this post uncritically. Even aside from OG context of the original post, what value does this straw-manning add to the discourse? This is a pathetic attempt to “dunk” on someone of lesser popularity (meaning the OG post/context will never have equal reach, and the OG writer will never have immediate community support like OP) to avoid self-reflection about the many, endless ways leftists continue to let the global south to rot while they make jokes about “feds” and “people not having the correct opinions on oppression” (often with the added layer of “oppression that doesn’t affect me personally, but if the people it DOES affect don’t 100% align with my view then I definitely have a right to police and mock their the emotions. Solidarity 🤪”)

YOU are the fuckers not taking crimew’s work seriously. THAT is what the original post is criticizing. YOU are making memes and jokes and not doing a goddamn thing about the no-fly list beyond making it a fucking talking point in your armchair discussions about leftist praxis. And when confronted with this, the OG writer got an endless cascade of self-justification from white US “leftists” arguing that humor was helping them “cope” — because using humor to cope with realities that only broadly affect you is fine, but expressing grief and frustration totally harshes the vibe and therefore worthy of mockery, evidently. The OG writer is not critiquing crimew -- she is criticizing YOU. And you are proving every word of the criticism by using crimew as your shield when all you've contributed to it is bullshit like this post.

To quote a separate post the OG writer made:

yeah you’re right i guess maia arson crimew is ‘profiting’ off of being “white and untouchable in Switzerland” if by that you mean “A wanted Interpol criminal who is now trapped in Switzerland for the rest of her life and will incur legal expenditures for as long as she is alive while the U.S. tries to find a way to dispose of her”. she was just a little bit too unserious when leaking the U.S. No Fly List though so i guess that means it’s ontologically evil
