I’m not in the best headspace today and have been clinging to one of my childhood comforts this evening. I don’t want t sound like a broken record, I’m sure you guys can figure out who put me in this mindset. 

But Lion King is a comfort for me, it’s my childhood movie trilogy and I’ve been having the need to make are of my little cub oc for quite some time, I just... never really get the courage to go through with it. Given I needed the comfort tonight, I figured it would help ease my mind to draw him.

I traced over a screenshot from TLK2 and inserted my little Outsider cub, Haji. He’s considered a runt and was born around the same time as Kovu and Vitani. Haji is very timid and sticks to what his mother, Inaya, tells him to do. He usually helps her tend to the wounded lionesses when his mom isn’t out scouting the Prideland borders for Zira. If it weren’t for Inaya’s dedication to overthrowing Simba, Zira probably would have killed off Haji the moment she found out about his birth.

despite not really remembering his parents, alhaitham is basically a carbon copy of his father in terms of appearance and occupation. kamal was a part of haravatat too, and he also thoroughly enjoyed reading like alhaitham does. even his grandmother frequently commented on how similar they were, though at the time he had no way of really knowing that. where they differed though, is their willingness to associate with people. kamal absolutely loved to talk and entertain. to him, there was no better way to study the full effects of language than to use several different ones to make friends. even now, alhaitham is bewildered at just how different they were in that department.

( side note, he looks so much like his father that, as a kid and even in his teenage years, he frequently wondered if he was accidentally upsetting his grandmother by reminding her too much of her deceased son. fun times!! )

his mother, on the other hand, was more reclusive and quiet, though she was an optimist in every way. inaya was fascinated with history and ancient machinery, to the point where she would often disappear for days at a time when she happened to get invested in some new discovery. two of the most noticeable things alhaitham actually shares with her without realizing are sarcasm and wit. the way he speaks now is mostly influenced by everything he picked up from her old journals when he was barely even seven years old. while a lot of them were filled to the brim with historical content and notes about khaenri'ah machinery, there were several others that were just... normal journals. as he grew older, he used those to get a better idea of how she responded to people in her life, and adapted appropriately, and even now he still quietly takes inspiration from her.

his mindset, however, is completely from his grandmother, fatima. she is the reason he keeps such a low profile and doesn't brag about himself, why he understands the importance of not letting other people's opinions influence his decisions or view of himself, why he's open-minded and knows there is more to learn from his polar opposites than people similar to him, everything. anyone who knew her before she passed could look at how he views things now and clearly see her influence. he makes it very obvious that things are how they are for a reason, and it's because he took every bit of advice she ever said to heart.

weekend dump:

went to sentro earlier to get some groceries with j, pero before that nag “sort of” breakfast date muna kami sa local coffee shop dito na lagi naming ino-orderan.

doesn’t have pictures cos we didn’t bring our phones, sayang din kasi ang ganda pa naman ng mayon kanina, though namumuti na siya siguro dahil sa ashes.

also bought ice cream kasi birthday ng pamangkin niya, and can i just say—napaka sarap ng ube macapuno ng selecta. i’m a sucker for ube talaga hehe.

market day kapag linggo dito kaya nagpaikot ikot pa kami para maghanap ng parking, and sa kaka ikot namin, may nakita akong—so far—pinaka maayos na salon dito, naisipan ko tuloy magpagupit sana kaso kulang na kami sa time, medyo napasarap kasi chikahan namin sa coffee shop inabot ata kami ng isang oras doon.

inaya sana ako ng kawork ko kanina magpa manicure, pero tumanggi ako kasi galing na ko sa labas kahapon. tsaka nakalaan nalang yung pera ko para sa massage spa. baka next sahod nalang ako magpagawa ng nails, nilagyan ko nalang ng polish muna by myself para tipid haha.

sabi ko nalang, sunday is for legit na rest day. haha. dedicated to doing nothing or watching series/movies kapag bumalik na si J sa work niya. pero minsan sunday kami nag lalaba talaga para may katulong ako sa labahan haha.

anyway, after ko nga mag mukmok kahapon nagdecide parin ako na magpa Legazpi kasi naka uwi naman si J. balak ko talaga sana kahapon magpa massage kaso dumeretcho ako ng SM, only to find out wala palang massage spa dun. meron lang yung sa mga bulag, pumila na sana ako kaso umalis ako kasi feeling ko di ako marerelax sa ambiance nung lugar hehe. kaya nagpa book nalang ako ng appointment for next week sa Mont Albo. buti nalang meron.

maisingit ko lang yung koneksyon ng scene sa YOU, sa post na ‘to. haha. lagi ko kasi sinasabihan yung kawork ko na wag siya magsasabi na wala siyang pera kasi mawawalan talaga haha. dapat kako kahit wala na, meron parin haha. yung may trust ka na kapag gumastos ka, hindi labag sa kalooban mo para madaling bumalik. ginawa ko narin siyang mantra? mindset? whatever. ayun, never naman talaga nauubusan. minsan on a budget na pero hindi nazezero. hehe.

ayun dami ko na namang daldal, monday na naman bukas sa wakas. ang bilis ng araw, regular na ako tomorrow, dapat nung thursday pa kaso bukas ang balik ng client namin from her annual leave, pero okay parin. hehe. akalain mo yun, naka 6mos na ako dito, next thing we know, christmas break na at panibagong taon na naman.

1.  is there a muse that you wish gets more attention?

Oh god, without a doubt! I would love it if Inaya and Gabriel both got more attention / interest! There are others too, of course (Karan & Sarabi), and while I love all of my muses, Gabriel sky rocketed to being one of my dearest muses I hold to my heart … and Inaya I absolutely adore too for a different reason entirely. 

2. if you HAD to choose, who’s your favorite muse?

…..rude! It would probably be a tie between Emma and Aubrey. Which if you know me really shouldn’t come as no surprise. They’re both so much more than you would ever see interacting with them just a handful of times, and I’ve always had such a deep love for muses that build themselves and they both have done that! I had only the barest idea of what they would be when I made them, and they both turned into who they are now! And I love it!

3. which muse is the trickiest to get into character for?

Mmmm…. I would have to say either Karan, Mickey or Tiffany. The first two are both so calm and steady that I have to generally be in a steady mindset myself in order to write them properly (meaning today isn’t going to happen lmao). Plus they’re both so chill that I can’t have raging muse for another muse because they’re just “oh okay let them have the day I’m fine with it!” which … is annoying sometimes because I love writing them. Tiffany is hard because she’s psychotic so …. there’s that XD I’m just kidding (kinda) she’s a villain for a reason and there are times that she can be a little … much. Plus she can be kinda vulgar and sometimes that makes me really uncomfy.

4. is there a muse that not a lot of people roleplay with?

Faith, Seraphina or Kobe. With Faith I have legit no threads with, Seraphina and Kobe both I have a handful combined.

6. which one of your muses have you been playing the longest?

MICKEY! She was my very first muse I ever made 10 years ago when I first started writing and was god awful at it. Seriously looking back it was just …. absolutely cringe worthy. Either way she persevered through it all and still is around today! And she led to two of my biggest muses! Emma and Aubrey!

Emma, without a doubt. She’s my most versatile muse that I’ve got on the blog

Galit talaga ako nung una. Nung tinanong nila kung bakit tayo nawala ang sinasabi ko lang napagod ako. Pero kaakibat ng pagod na yun lahat ng masasakit na salitang binitawan mo sakin. From calling me names, to attacking my mental state and sensitivity. Naipon ‘yon. Dinibdib ko parin kahit hindi mo alam. Sabi sakin ni Daboy, “badi communication ang sagot dyan” hindi ko masabi kasi ayokong balikan. Hanggsng sa nakipaghiwalay ako. Pumayag ka. Umiyak ako non, Aug 3, 2020. Buong araw ako umiiyak. Pero sabi ko tangina ginusto mo yan eh. Tas iiyak iyak ka ngayon. Nung totally natanggap natin na wala na tayo nakahinga ako ng maluwag. Kumbaga hindi na mabigat sa loob ko dahil maayos napagusapan. Umiiyak ako nung mga unang araw, sinasabi ni nanay, “kung iiyak iyak ka lang rin naman, balikan mo nalang” pinanindigan ko yung time na sinasabi ko, hindi kako hindi kako ako okay alam ko sa sarili ko na TOXIC talaga ako. Pero alam mo yun, kahit ganon ako hindi mo ako binitawan eh.

Days after the break up, nagpaparamdam si Kuya Jai, kapitbahay namin at crush ko dati. Crush ko yun nung bata ako, kaya nakaramdam ako ng high school kilig. Sa totoo lang, hinahanap hanap ko kung paano ka makipagusap sakin hahahaha kasi tangina ang bigat kausap ng mga aquarius. Naramdaman kong gusto niya ako kasi kahit minsan di ako nagrereply (gawa nga ng ang bigat kausap) nagchachat parin siya. Hindi ko naisip that time na inaayos ko sarili ko, I was blinded by his ways of making me feel special. I felt special, yung longing na hinahanap ko for how many months was finally given to me. Pero hindi, hindi ako kumagat agad dahil takot ako. He offered me a ride nung sinabi ko na kailangan kong mamili for my grad party. After non inaya niya ako lumabas labas. And I said okay. The more na nakakasama ko siya naooverwhelm ako sa pinapakita niya. Pero mataas ang pride ko, hindi ko ipapakita na naooverwhelm ako, plus he was engaged. I want to be sure bago mag entertain. He made sure of it. Sa lola ko siya nagsabi na mahal niya ako. Gulat ako and naniwala dahil si nanay yon eh. Alam mo naman gaano kasungit si nanay. Days went smooth. I became matured in handling things kasi gusto ko sumabay sa age niya (he’s 25), kahit na nahuli ko na siyang nagsinungaling sakin ng ilang beses I handled it well. Natuto ako makipagcommunicate pag galit ako, mag adjust, magpakababa. Naging independent ako noon kasi hindi siya yung tipo na nakaalalay sakin. Si Jai, sa Cebu ang work, bago siya umalis ng calumpang tinanong niya ako kung pwedeng maging girlfriend. I said yes. Ang mindset ko non, sige relationship naman yung papatagalin hindi panliligaw. Sige, I’ll give it a try tutal ramdam ko naman na gusto talaga ako. Hanggang sa nasa Cebu na siya, palamig ng palamig na yung usap namin, on the rocks na kami, ramdam ko ng hindi magtatagal yung amin, so I confronted him. Hindi siya masagot lahat ng questions ko, sabi niya mas prefer niya sa call. Hanggang sa sinabi niya na hindi daw siya happy at problema namin yung age gap. Magsusuffer nanaman ako sa pagooverthink kaya pumayag din ako sa break up. Naisip ko non, mahal lang ako ni Jai pag comvenient sakanya. Nafill in ko lang yung void na nararamdaman niya dahil wala yung ex fiance niya dito sa Ph. Ayon, nag move forward na ako. Umiyak din ako non, Karl. Di ko tanggap na putangina ginawa akong rebound??? Pinaramdam sakin na mahalaga ako tas prank lang pala?? Hanggang sa okay na ako ulit. Alam kong okay na talaga ako non. Dahil wala na akong pake.

Sa ngayon may mga nagchachat parin sakin, 2 engineer, at isang nagrereview din ng for cpale. Nagrereply lang ako pag gusto ko, hindi ko inuubos oras ko sa mga nagchachat ng nagchachat kasi nga gusto ko rin magfocus sa sarili ko. Okay bahala kau dyan. Sabi ko bago mag review kailangan okay na ako. Pero tangina onting oras ko lang pala dinamdam yung nangyari satin kasi nga naoverwhelm ako sa dumating. Iniisip ko okay na yung sarili ko, mentally emotionally physically ready for review. Akala ko okay na ako Karl. First day ng review, advanced accounting ang subject namin. Need ko mag browse sa old book ko. Nung binuksan ko yung book ko I saw a piece of paper, our names were written there. Siguro sa sobrang urat ko sa subj na yon dati kaya kung saan saan kong libro sinulat pangalan mo. Biglang kumirot yung dibdib ko non. Biglang pumasok ka ulit sa isip ko. During class, hindi ako makafocus dahil ikaw ang naiisip ko. Cinoconvince ko yung sarili ko na “no bitch, okay ka na. Okay ka. Sinabihan ka ng masasakit niyan” pero habang iniisip ko yun, wala na sakin. Tanging sakit nalang ng pagkamiss ko sayo yung nararamdaman ko. Nasa isip ko lang non nasaktan kita, bakit kk nagawa yon eh ikaw lang nagmahal ng sobra sakin. Ikaw lang tumanggap sakin. Bakit ako nagkaganito. Karma ko ba yon kasi ngayon ako nagsisisi. Iniisip ko nungnumaga ichachat ba kita para magsorry or wag nalang. Kaso nung bumalik ako sa aral, tangina di akk makafocus dahil naiisip kita. Kinausap ko si Daboy about sa nararamdaman ko. Sabi niya kung ano daw magpapagaan ng loob ko. Ang magpapagaan ng loob ko pag nagsorry ako sayo. Kaya nag message akk sa tg. Binantayan ko tg ko non. Nakita kong naseen mo na pero di ka nagreply. And that’s okay. Sabi ko kay daboy okay na ako na nakapagsorry ako at least makakapag heal na talaga ako. Kailangan ki lang humingi ng tawad at magpatawad. I thought I was okay na. Kaso naiisip parin kita. Nung gabi, after ko magaral hindi ko na kinaya kimkimin. Sinabi ko nankay nanay. Nagulat siya na nasasaktan parin ako sa nangyari satin eh ako nga naman may kagagawan. Yung gabinh yon dun ko narealize mga bagay bagay. Tangina ko pala talaga. Pinagpray ki yun, sana kinabukasan okay na ako. Di ko na maramdaman yung sakit. Morning came, I woke up feeling excited kasi MAS ang topic namin. Pero tangina kalagitnaan ng review andyan ka nanaman sa utak ko. Nagpray ako, sabi ko Lord wag muna kailangan ko pong mag focus sa review. After ng class namin, bumagsak agad mga luha ko. Break down ulit. Binalikan ko pics nating dalawa, letters mo sakin, pics natin sa timezone, mga babies natin.. Dun kk narealize lahat. Tangina sobrang tangina ko. I fucked up big time. AND IT’S ALL MY FAULT.
