I feel like I should note, whenever I promise screenshots of Angmar Nazgul fights to people, that this is what they look like
#lotro#angmarposting#there are at least 3 beornings possibly more#and a lm with a bear#so the nazgul himself was quite impossible to see#although this one is quite chatty during the fight so you can tell where he is because of that#edit to note that this is one of mh chiller screenshots btw#the others all have world chat open tho and i dont need that on my blog#also shout out to the person in chat explaining the mechanics i learned t#i learned many things from them#like standing in the light does not port you out which is what i feared#but instead removes all current dread effects#which you will eventually need because the nazgul have a stacking dread debuff that i think has no cap#in the worldspace you can just run away#but in an arena you have to get rid of it somehow

okay and general reactions bc i wrote them in my notes app when i remembered to. me going "OLA ESCAPED????" was quickly followed by "OLA DIED??????" and then ten minutes of quietly sobbing as kihrin said "i lost. you all won." etc etc and THEN (when kihrin was in hell w janel) "diversity win! the giant all consuming demon that traumatized you when you were fifteen transcends gender!" followed by me getting SOOO enraptured in this book. was whisper screaming and going "OHHHH" like a high schooler watching a fight which progressively got louder until kihrin's hand closed around the handle of urthaenriel and then i had to put down the book and fucking. WHEEZE. my bad dude just uh pulled the magic sword you've been planning to steal for decades out of the fucking ground. what's up.
but ALSO also ALSO. the characters are so DISTINCT. im already staring at janel like what is up with you what HAPPENED with the demons why do you roam hell at night and why do people think you're something holy. but also just in general the entire first book cast.... teraeth and khaemezra (DEATH????) and thurvishar (<- help. am i spelling that one right) and jarith and therin and miya-khaeriel.... like they're so memorable and so much fun i haven't read a book with such solid characters in SUCH a huge worldspace in so so long. and then kihrin's humor which is like so intrinsic to a main character obviously they're going to be funny but it makes you laugh at such INOPPORTUNE TIMES. when talon healed from the crossbow and kihrin just stared at her and was like "I just want you to know this has been a really bad day." him going "AHAHAHAHA. THIS ISN'T A PROPHECY THIS IS JUST PEDRON BRAGGING THAT HE GETS AROUND." the long pause after darzin came in swinging after talon-as-alshena and kihrin did a thing. etc etc. the humor & the tone etc reminds me vaguely of Saga by. oh no i can't remember the author. brian vaughn i think? which is an ongoing series of comics about a kid named hazel who is the child of a winged lady and a guy with horns who were on opposite sides of a war & were then forced to become Parents and On the Run, and there are TV heads and stuff, it is very fun despite (waves my hand in its general direction) weirdness
Sorya you don't understand this is all I have ever wanted in life, someone to scream about this series with <- said as if I'm not in a discord for that specific purpose. It's SO fun to share this experience with someone
But you're so right! The way this series is you have very little clue who is going to be important and stay important, so when Surdyeh, father figure I figured would stay around a while, died at the very beginning and then Ola died at the end? It was just a well guess they're not that important after all kind of moment. Had to kill Surdyeh to replace him with Darzin and then kill Darzin to replace him with Therin. Kihrin is burning through these father figures damn.
And yes!! The ending of book 1 KILLS me, he lost. They all won. Things go so so incredibly south. And yet the story goes on, it's not over yet; you don't get to walk away.
DIVERSITY WIN!! Seriously though there are quite a handful of diversity wins like that in this series, which I highly appreciate. Is it perfect? Of course not, but DAMN do I appreciate that Lyons wasn't afraid to fuck around
Also imagine being Gadrith in that moment?? I am undead and have spent longer than you can imagine scouring the world for this once specific sword that you happened to grab on accident. from the middle of the city I live in. I think I'd lose my shit. Well, he kinda did actually
YEAH!! The cast is huge but no one bleeds into each other, there's a full range of beliefs and morals and opinions and personalities and backgrounds and it's SO impressive. Just so you know you will get to spend a lot of time with Janel though, so that's something to look forward to. I adore her with every fiber of my being. She could kill me without a second thought, and that's not just me saying that because I like her. She genuinely could absolutely decimate me in a variety of ways. And if you think the distinct characters are impressive now, just you wait because Lyons practically doubles if not triples the cast and!! they are all!! still!! so distinct from each other!!
And Kihrin is such a little shit and it's so endearing. Not in a "I'm not taking anything seriously and lets fuck around way" but in a "god fucking dammit I have no choice but to do all this shit, might as well try and have fun while I'm at it." Maybe it's a little cliche for a main character to be so so silly, but it's Kihrin and I'd forgive him of any and all sins.
I have never heard of Saga before, but perhaps I'll check it out! I am thrilled that you are enjoying this series btw, cannot express that enough. i refuse to shut up about it ever

Fallout: New California Version 2.2.2 available for download, fixes numerous bugs, full patch notes
The team behind Fallout: New California, a massive mod that adds an all new story with hours of voiced dialogue, a new world, and multiple branching narrative paths, has released a new version of it. Fallout: New California is described as an unofficial prequel to New Vegas, and its latest version fixes numerous bugs.
For instance, patch 2.2.2 removes blocking condition from CH1 ALPHA terminal that was preventing force field power down option from showing, fixes a faction problem with switching sides from pipe works to Upper apartments, fixes the zombie firemen and their OP loot by removing them and more.
In Fallout: New California you play as the kid from Vault 18 and you’ll face the New California Republic under president Wendell Peterson, the New Reno Mob’s Bishop Family, the remnant Shi Clans, The Enclave Leonidas Squadron, the Super Mutant Army, and the bloodthirsty Raider Alliance. Through them all you’ll choose your path from SPECIAL dialog options, acquired PERKs, and travel with 8 possible companions depending on your choices.

Fixed – If you choose to infiltrate the Raiders in a mob playthrough, Kieva and Duville will approach you at the end. Even if you accept Duville’s offer, Kieva will talk to you and you’ll take her ending instead of the mob ending.
Fixed – If you criticise the overseer, your next conversation option is labelled “[star athlete]” regardless of having the perk.
Fixed – “cash is king” doesn’t end at the bridge if left unfinished.
Change – Redirect gear that went to Mojave Express, to the Great Kahn Hideout or Tops Presidential Suite.
Fixed – Removed blocking condition from CH1 ALPHA terminal that was preventing force field power down option from showing.
Change – Marius’s first greeting now works after MQ02 up to MQ05 start.
Fixed – Bug in Chevy’s Dagger 8 force greet when player is Enclave enemy, has Vault18 killer perk but doesn’t have redeemer or turncoat and fails to launch stage 70.
Fixed – Bug in Navmesh in Vsec jail preventing johnny pathing to the door smash marker.
Fixed – Problem with CHA option for Bragg “I made my own uniform”. Player was not getting BSIII perk if they came back to Bragg instead of running away, so the Red, White, and Blood quest would never start and they would be Enclave enemy at end game.
Fixed – Bug with ‘The Masters Revenge” where it would not complete when walking to the vat.
Fixed – Shi bank keeps notifying when in the Mojave.
Fixed – Player house note/vendor dialog fixed.
Fixed – “Shi’s Lost My Money?!” now fails if the player is an enemy to the bankers or any of them are dead.
Fixed – For non Revan NCR player, Wave2 raiders at main gate were not hostile.
Fixed – Shooting the Shi Bankers will fail NCR questline/launch Wildcard.
Fixed – If you killed Aurelius by releasing the barrels, Ben’s MV quest would not advance.
Fixed – ‘Skilled’ trait exploit at character revision and perk remove/add bug at first level up.
