I rate Gawain’s outfits in the Knight of the Two Swords

First time we see Gawain at court:

White breeches

White shirt

White bliaut with ‘arabesque’ print, a floral print made from gold thread.

A gold brooch with precious stones

A girdle of white silk decorated with gold rings

A black cloak, lined with red fabric

7.5/10 - this is the first time we properly meet Gawain and this outfit slaps. I am particularly fond of the slutty red and black cloak used to finish off an otherwise all-white outfit. the duality of man etc. We are also introduced to Gawain’s great love: floral print.

6/10 - less points because these clothes aren’t Gawain’s BUT there is a hat which is sexy

8/10 - INSANE drip, the stripy tights SEND me. I imagine he looks something like this:

At Meriaduc’s wedding to Lore

8/10 - I love Gawain in blue, the embroidered birds are reminiscent of his family crest and he is wearing a circlet to indicate his status. It makes sense given the fact that the ‘Arthurian finery’ the characters are wearing for the wedding ceremony recall different episodes from arthurian history (Lore’s cloak) - it’s cool that clothing is used to indicate (and perform!) status and belonging!
