#in related news I took a nearly decapitated stuffed duck and repaired and cleaned it today #it’s one of our oldest stuffed animals and it was SO DIRTY #and. well. was hanging on by a thin strap of fabric at the back of the neck #did a slip stitch around the neck and deep cleaned and dried the fur #the drying took an HOUR with a BLOW DRYER bc why wouldn’t it #the velvety bits (beak; feet; underside of wings) are still wet despite my best efforts #but I will check on them tomorrow morning #this is what God does to my soul I think #gently repairing its wounds and washing it so gently so it doesn’t mold or get torn again #and taking the time to blow dry everything even when it’s boring #until it’s clean and new again
