I originally imagined this from Vincent's POV but it could be fun to do a shorter fic from Hojo's POV and make it either chapter 2 or just another fic in the series. They'd cover roughly the same events, just from differing POVs. I've already got one scientist + experiment fic going on with Agnus and Vergil from DMC4, but maybe I'll get to this when I'm done with that. I have a few other Vincent WIPs that are sort of sitting in the "probably never going to see the light of day" bin so this one'll probably languish in there with them for a while.

Thinks about the Vincent sidequest in Rebirth where it goes into how Hojo's experiments were pitted against simulations and thinking about a fic where late 20s-early 30s Vincent is forced to fight a bunch of actual monsters and/or failed experiments because it's pre-simulation age and Hojo wants data by any means necessary.

If Vincent dies, he's a disappointment and not worth further study. If he lives, well, that'll be fascinating, won't it? Onto the next test! There's more data to be collected.
