Hi!! Love all the stuff you have on this blog!! I was wondering about your wrong parent AU, how would this change how the boys grow up, like with more of a motherly presence than their rat dad (though maybe she is just as a “sensei” as splinter…who knows XD) or is this like a time travel situation? AAA sorry im excited about this awesome AU!!!

It'd be a lot different! I guess I can list a few I thought of,,,

So, Rat!Mom.

She’s still a bit paranoid (how can you not be with the Shredder actively trying to find out what happened to you, where you are, and if you're actually dead), but shes more focused on trying to give her kids as normal of a life as she can and definitely not hiding all her stress underneath endless piles of work.

Mikey plays alot of games and is more adept at cooking, Raph's painting more often and always trying to help his mom with cleaning(yes, hes a mama's boy), Donnie is creating and creating and always wanting to go bigger, and Leo and Karai(yes, Karai :]) play fight alot(so many wars...) when they aren’t watching Space Heroes 24/7 or trying to explore outside the home.

Then, maybe during one of her dumpster dives, she finds some convenient "Chris Bradford" training tapes that they start to gain an interest in ninjutsu. She's not too pleased with it, but since they enjoy it, she tries to be more open to it(she conflicted)

They do go out and about earlier than Canon(with a curfew), meet April earlier too(her and her dad are a little different), and Karai and April become BFFS. (Unless...)

The kids still call her sensei or variations of mom, which ones? Probably all depending on what they did.

Now, fighting bad guys? She did not raise them for that /hj

In reality, when she sees her kids scratched up from fights topside, they are usually pretty quick to inform her what happened(except for two). They get carefully patched up, and scolded before being told to rest for a while(grounded). Which is definitely not so she can keep an eye on them.

And she is certainly not stressed whatsoever👍

As in Traps galore, I mean imagine it-

You're Chris Bradford, greatest actor (and martial artist ig) of all time, and your chasing what you presume to be your bosses stubborn former lover,(who you kind of hate ngl) and then you think you have her cornered, just for the ground to cave in beneath you cause whoops, she boobytrapped the whole place.

She can still be emotionally intelligent too, but the traps are staying.

Other than the traps, I do think Rat! Shen will have some other types of self-defense training during the time she was in hiding. Girl is not risking shit.

When it comes to VS. Shredder bits, she'd definitely use everything she can to her advantage, especially her rat abilities. Climbing, gnawing, scratching, hissing; just get the fuck away from her and her kids.

There’s no planned ships atm (other than Shen x Yoshi, but that's the point- hes ded anyway)

Lastly, Im thinking of probably at least three separate versions or “alternate timelines” for the WP au, or two divergents of the wp au canon lol. One where the original turts find Shen and her turts pre-adventure, one post-adventure and/or during the shredder kidnap arc(i will not elaborate) and the least timefuckery timeline where Rat mom and her babies gotta march on without future “assistance” 🤷 im sure they’ll be fine(they willllll)

Okay. Now, onto business. Warning for light spoilers for each fandom in the prompts. DNWs, specific musings on my requested fandoms, and prompts under the cut:

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is one of my favourite TV shows. I love how the characters are all figuring their shit out; the emphasis on female friendships; and how it deconstructs and pokes fun at the rom-com worldview of "destiny" and "being saved by romance."

I love Greg/Rebecca. Greg’s cynicism balances out Rebecca’s romanticism, and vice versa. They’re both dorks. He is her intellectual equal, and I love their repartee. I also like how Greg cares about Rebecca, such as in 1 x 02, when he offered to take her to get pancakes after the disaster at Spider's.

Prompts:

What if Greg didn’t leave mid-season two? How would he fit into the Josh and Rebecca marriage arc? Or post-season two finale?

Role Reversal AU?? Greg follows Josh to New York and meets Rebecca the big shot, uber-depressed lawyer (this might be a bit ooc, but it would be fun).

Rebecca celebrates Jewish holidays, and Greg tags along!! Purim, Passover, Hanukah, the Cheese Holiday (Shavuot), or something else...it's your choice!

Twin Peaks

So, for this fandom, you are free to choose which characters to write about. My favourite character is Audrey Horne, and Laura Palmer is a close second. I am interested in fic that explores the female characters of the series, so as long as one of my nominated characters is central to the narrative, I'll be happy.

I wasn't thrilled with The Return’s treatment of Audrey. I wish she had been given the opportunity to have an existence beyond her trauma. I feel like a lot of the women in Twin Peaks are ultimately eclipsed by their trauma: Laura, obviously, but also Maddy, Josie, Audrey, Annie, Donna (in the extra-canonical material) and Shelly don’t have character arcs like, say, Bobby’s. Bobby is allowed to grow and mature and not be defined by Laura’s death, even though it does stay with him, whereas Shelly is the basically same girl who loves bad boys even when she’s in her fifties.

I'm not particularly concerned about shipping in this fandom, although I do have a soft spot for Shelly/Bobby. I've also been known to read an Albert/Dale fic. Femslash is cool too 👍

Prompts:

A Role Reversal AU where Special Agent Laura Palmer investigates the death of local boy scout Dale Cooper, who lived a shocking double life. Audrey could be either Sheriff Audrey Horne or the mysterious hotel owner/community leader (who may be involved in the murder??). Or maybe Shelly, the dangerous head cheerleader, and her secret boyfriend Bobby, a drop-out busboy at the local diner? I don't know, have fun with it!

A fic that explores what exactly the fuck is going on in the Carrie Page universe. Is it just a temporary bubble, or is it a full-fledged alternate universe? Who was the dead guy in Carrie’s house? What’s happening with Audrey in that universe?

Pre-series fic exploring Laura and Maddy’s relationship (also, maybe BOB makes an appearance?).

Special Agent Audrey AU (but with a twist). The Return implies that something weird is happening with Audrey’s soul, and that she may be capable of visiting the Black Lodge. My idea is that, before The Return, Audrey and Laura are in this X-Files AU fever dream situation in the Black Lodge, searching for Dale Cooper (actually his soul) all while solving Monster of the Week mysteries. Basically, if you've seen The X-Files, Dale is Audrey and Laura's Samantha.

Fly by Night - Frances Hardinge

Frances Hardinge is one of my favourite authors. I love her imaginative world building; her twisty plots; and her complex, justice-oriented heroines and heroes.

Specifically for Fly by Night, the Birdcatchers are just fascinating. Well-intentioned extremists with the creepiest vibes. Linden is a great villain, and I love his strange relationship with Mosca. He sees a potential pupil/convert in her, and he’s an authority figure that she may be able to trust. Linden and Eponymous Clent are excellent narrative foils: the former is all surface, and the latter is substance.

Prompts:

Post-series fic/AU where Linden survives Fly by Night, and Mosca and Clent run into him post-Twilight Robbery.

Anything that explores the Birdcatchers in greater depth. Maybe Mosca and Clent have to go undercover for the Stationers.

Post-series fic about an adult Mosca reuniting with her old mentor and/or going up against her old enemy.

thank you :> well. to tell you the truth, I actually don't have any plain human star wars OCs. i don't even have human NON-star wars OCs. but i have 3 star wars OCs that are humanoid enough to toss together kind of a vague "what would they look like if they were human" kinda thing, so I'll share that.

this character i actually have to re-name because I don't remember what it was before. it's gonna wind up being something to do with either the color green or plants though. this character actually is part human, part zabrak, part mirialan, probably quite a few other things... i've never tried my hand at personally drawing/designing them as how they actually look yet that'll be fun. but if they were just a regular human, they'd look like this. they exist in a WAY way way future tense from the most recent star wars films, like hundreds of years. they're a DJ that makes house and techno and things like this, dabbling in this and that. they do have force powers, but in this au force powers are kinda like... not... idk. they're not that special, I guess. just kinda cool. they get really into "ancient history" haha which would be just like what anthropologists had put together about the time periods we see in canonical star wars. there's stuff about jedi and sith in there, some historical figures have information on them, etc. they get so into this that they eventually go out on an adventure to try to construct a lightsaber and stuff like that. i really like this au but i don't have much to it other than what this character does.

these two i'm putting together because they originated as just a singular character idea and i decided to split them up into two characters that have some sort of weird ass force dyad. now neither of these characters are human at all, but if they were this is kinda sorta i suppose how they would look.

to the left is beryl. they're really a mikkian, so i tried to mimic the flow of the tendrils a bit/the color gradient/generally the length theirs are which looks a bit odd but w/e. as a mikkian they'd be more of a kind of greenish color with some blue, yellow, and red mixed in in places. i designed their concept around the gemstone family of beryl (FAV!) and I couldn't pick one so i just kinda want multiple colors represented. rainbow ass character. the have a whole story that i wrote out and probably lost when my old phone died, maybe I have it somewhere though, would need updating now. they're a jedi set more towards the high republic period. kind of a saintly figure that people feel very calm around and are drawn to, but they are actually pretty socially awkward and don't know why they have that effect on people. still, they're dedicated to serving and protecting others as many jedi are. inevitably they go on a mission at some point to help out on another planet, and their local elder who had had some sort of force powers but wasn't a jedi was dying, and that community figure asked them there to take her place and stay there for the rest of their days (BIG FUCKING ASK.) she would teach them all she could until she was ready to drop dead fr, blah blah. beryl struggled with that choice but after staying there for some time they felt like it was where they needed to be and the force brought them together for a reason.

to the right is helio. helio is new, really, but they would actually be a diathim. i don't have much of a story for helio themself other than their connection to beryl for now, but they would be a very overwhelmingly caring and kind and ethereal being, but also sort of... idk, scary in a sense. as you might expect. i don't think they ever meet in person physically, but they do meet in visions and dreams and things more and more as time goes on. helio cares for beryl and sees great promise in how much good they will do in their life— I guess guardian angel style. beryl's connection to helio has a lot to do with their magnetism, but i can't explain why that would be because i just made it up and think it's a good idea. beryl would have consulted the jedi council about all that, but i like to imagine that diathim are one of those presences in the galaxy that the jedi really don't know what the fuck is up with ykwim. definitely interconnected in similar ways as them, but also they don't fucking get it. many such cases in star wars broad scale, i would think. so they kinda just hit beryl with the Damn. Well. That's pretty cool, keep us updated on that. Maybe a problem. Maybe not. No Advice At This Time. beryl would ask a lot of different types of force connected beings this throughout life, even helio, but none had many answers more than that it seems like a very curious, perhaps even beautiful thing that can't be explained as well as it's felt. helio def outlives beryl, but they are with them for their whole life, and they cherish every moment of that.

if any of these things go against canon btw i do not care at all. i love having my own silly little ideas george lucas and pals could not ever stop me.

so that's my essay on all those guys. my cool brain friends i don't spend enough time on. idrk how many (if any) or who of my mutuals have star wars OCs, so I don't know who I would tag. take this as the golden rule of "if you apply and you want to do it then i tag you please share"

this one is a No Capes AU (means they are civilians not superheroes) where bruce goes "perhaps,,, i will seek professional help,,," and does not end up punching criminals in the throat at night. instead he is metaphorically punching criminals in the throat by focusing 100% of his attention on the civilian sphere (instead of 50% bc bruce still does that in canon... just not as much as he dropkicks in the name of justice sjkjskksj)

i love it bc it's SO good,,, so Healing,,,,,, he still adopts all his kids except they are ALSO well-adjusted kids who. stay kids instead of vigilantes. please read this series if u want family-friendly fun that is wholesome and cute <3

reverse robins au which basically means that the batkids have their ages flipped so damian's the oldest and dick's the youngest. has that rare quality in a reverse robins au where the author doesn't make the older batkids use the robin moniker. truly one of my dealbreakers for reverse robins aus since it absolutely doesn't make any sense for robin to exist before dick joins the family since that was his mother's name for him
