Episode was honestly really good. I loved the Madney of it all. And the buddie of it all. And the Eddie of it all and the Eddie and Chris of it all.

We got to see Madney being the power couple they are all episode.

See Eddie struggling and doing what he needs to do for his kid.

Chris and Eddie stumbled this episode but the end paid off. I do feel like dropping us off weeks into them reconnecting was a bit of a misstep because it felt slightly off even with us being able to feel time passing in universe through out the episode. But that hug and I love you dad at the end was just 😭😭 you just know it made Eddie’s entire month right then and there.

The Diaz parents. Mostly Helena annoyed me so much. Ramon tried to comfort Eddie but he still allowed Helena to make her little comments and shit 😒 and in front of Chris no less.

The buddie of it all was once again front and center. The foreshadowing with the fire captain? How his last recruit ran off with his wife he loved because she got a promotion.

Eddie saying I’m single you don’t have to worry about me you’ll never regret hiring me. And then us very much seeing and hearing him and Buck acting like husbands the entire episode. And they were not subtle about it at all. Literally every time something happened we immediately saw Eddie face timing with Buck. The Bobby said he always has a job waiting for him. The couch theory of it all?? Hello?? I might need your couch? Buddie roommate era I see you coming. The I appreciate you Buck 😭.

Which also hello the Madney and Buddie parallels all episode long. Chim being Maddie’s safe space. Buck being Eddie’s. Maddie constantly turning to Chim when she was scared or frustrated or lost. Eddie constantly turning to Buck when he was scared or frustrated or lost. Like 10 out of 10. Well done 911.

And Buck and him actually discussing Chris and how to proceed like actual coparents? Again 10 out of 10.

And the color theories. They went sooo hard last night. The blue and yellow of it all. The red and Blue of it all.

The Madney / Buddie parallels were insane!

Buck and Eddie felt like husbands throughout the entire episode. It was perfection! 🤗

Since 12 already went hard with the Buddie of it all, I do wonder what they are going to show us in 13 to top it all. 🤔

The Eddie and Chris story has been resolved. So both of them might be thinking of going back to LA. Helena might object to that, so that could be a big part of next week's story. I wonder if they'll talk about the will at all and that will make Eddie think a bit more about Buck and his relationship with him. Hmmmm... so many questions and no answers.

-Hakari would have started a fight club to fund Kirara's transition. Idk if the higher ups would have had issues w trans students or just with Hakari's unconventional domain and methods (not hesitating to lose a foot bc he'll get it back, for example), but Gojo called them a lot of variations of conservative idiots so it seems likely I think. And they left the school before she even came out, bc Panda didn't know.

-I feel like no one ever talks about how Megumi lost Orochi AND one of the demon dogs that was with him since he was a kid when he also watched Sukuna rip out Yuuji's heart. -Megumi's head bleeding in every fight for most of the anime is meant to represent that his weakness is in his head.

Album Reviews #5 - Nursery Cryme by Genesis

I have been looking for music that captures that kind of Victorian era feeling for some time, now, what I found is, not quite Victorian, not quite good, but still interesting in its own right. The Genesis of 70s is a band that did music with a medieval, sometimes Victorian flare in most of the albums of this era.

In this album Nursery Cryme, they played with these organs and arrangements that you just give you that imagery of the middle ages, and while really I'm not a fan of High Fantasy, with my current apetite as right now, it is a really fun band. The lyrics are pure kinds of wack, one sing is about the prince that is just so horny for one of his princesses, since he loses his head in a croquette match, he doesn't get what he wants, his spirit goes into an old music box and turns old until it finally vanishes. A story of two widows going to church, an old sailor saddened with life, a giant hogweed that takes over england and destroys everyone! A whimsical song about a restaurant owner who is going to commit suicide, and the final song is a retelling of Hermaphroditus, where both Salamacis and Hermaphroditus turn into one androgynous being when Salamacis begs the gods to join them in one forever. I feel that this album is filled with a lot of sass towards of this kind of old stories, either making them really sad, or really absurd, that's what makes the lyrics so fun. Funny enough, the myth of Hermaphroditus was already so wack that barely had to be changed. The only song that doesn't seem to have some whimsy in it is Harlequin, but that still interests me with those mentions about astrology.

The music in The Musical Box, Giant Hogweed and Salmacis is not just theatrical but also energetic and herky jerky. While the desperation and sexual assault from Salamacis is still pretty fucking yikes, turning into one single being with your loved one will always be a really romantic idea, which the music depicts so clearly while Peter Gabriel hooms at the end of the disc with such grace. I guess that's the kind of feeling this album is going for, a lot of whimsy, but also a lot of heart.

Also that section from 3:14 to 5:30 in The Fountain of Salmacis makes me picture a magical girl transformation of Hermaphroditus lmao. This album is awesome.

what's the plot of the fic youre never gonna write 👀👀

oh boy there's a few. most of them i can't like talk about cause of their contents and how tumblr is with nsfw....

But the ones i do wish i had the energy for are both hanahaki fics.

I some times get stray kudos from the one Stanley Parable one i posted 2 chapters of and then never touched and i'd love to like give those people SOMETHING for being so loyal to it.

Plus the idea of Stanley learning about different flower meanings in an attempt to understand why he's coughing up petals and dreaming of waves of red flowers is so yummy. But i just never really had a full PLOT in mind for it aside from the Narrator being really into gardening and building them a greenhouse.

The other one is a single chapter in my Google Docs of the after math of Valk's execution and like Shu not being able to cope. I also have an outline of the full fic SOMEWHERE but idk where it is rn.

Essentially It cuts between POVS of Mika and Shu where they're both in love with each other but they can't bring themselves to tell the other, hence the hanahaki.

Mika's starts when he's visiting Shu in the hospital post execution (dehydration mostly, he was NOT well), and Shu's starts some time after but he gets found out first.

Mika assumes that Shu's flowers are for Nazuna who will never love him back and so he doesn't tell Shu about his own but remains at his side urging him to do something about the flowers. Shu doesn't and because there's still a part of him who doesn't believe that Mika deserves him, that Mika would be better off without him , he just decides to let it take him out like the dramatic bitch he is.

They eventually stop being stupid and say SOMETHING to eachother but it's very much a 'it gets way worse before it gets better' fic that i never thought up a good ending to

It's very dumb and not very original but i go reread the first chapter i wrote of it and go 'wow this was actually good. I sure hope the author writes more of it' and then get sad because I'M the author and i don't feel confident in my Enstars Lore Knowledge or my knowledge of their speaking styles to write any more of it.

One of these days i'll like go read every Valk plot line and brush up on the war era / 5 eccentric era and sit down to finish it but that's probably not gonna happen for a WHILE LMAO.

And i'd feel too bad to just post what i have for the same reason as Red Dhalias because seeing people love it and want more when there's none coming... :{ sorry to those people

okay so being a little more serious about today, I do think is a little weird that so many of you are ready to pass judgement and take sides on a break up that, at the end of the day, we don’t know a single thing about.

Yes, seeing your ex kissing someone that was close to them only a few days after you break up is shitty. But it’s also not Damiano’s fault since he wasn’t the one to put out the video. He was a dummy for thinking people weren’t gonna record him but that’s also not his fault. He probably felt safe around those people and someone betrayed his trust. Also, “acting like a harlot in the club bc you’re sad” is very me coded so I can’t be harsh on him for this lmao

At this point all we can do is wish the best for both of them - I’m sure we will know more/be force fed information in the next few days - and not act like fucking animals on Damiano’s, Giorgia’s or Martina’s socials. No one did nothing wrong, it’s not a criminal offense to break up with your partner and/or make out with someone at the club.

1- Weird and too parasocial. You weren’t involved in this relationship whatsoever. I get liking a couple, but chill the fuck out. Giorgia/Damiano is not your friend that was broken up with or something. People could guess they were no longer together because that’s how much locals (not stalkers, normal people) knew the inside of their apartment. I wouldn’t last 2 weeks with someone like this. This is not an attack on Giorgia exclusively, it’s an attack on influencers in general.

3- Nosy. Listen, I love a good gossip, I’m not gonna lie, and I do think that we will know a little more about it in the coming days. i'm hyperfixating on the sims again and i love two of my Sims in particular rn

because i can't play sims like a normal person I started the "Great British History" challenge. Basically you start in the Iron Age and go all the way to the 2000s. Idk how far I'll make it but I'd like to at least play a few generations/make it to the Tudor era so I can build a castle. I usually only make it to the grandkids on a file and then get bored and start over. Hopefully this changes things up enough that it'll keep me entertained.

ANYWAY.

My founder Sim Gwendolyn died in an event roll I did and it was very tragic and sad, but her husband Aidan has literally survived every single thing the challenge has thrown at him and just won't die. (Not that I want him too, but considering how many other Sims have died so far it's sort of a miracle lmao)

Anyway his grandson, Finn, is likely going to be the heir for this generation because I think he's a cutie, and also he isn't a mage. (Playing as a caster is fun, but I want to try and max out everything in the skill tree and trying to do that and stay on top of all the other things I have to do in the challenge is difficult)

I was actually actively playing as Finn's dad because he was two fish away from finishing the Angling Ace aspiration and I realized Finn and Aidan had been talking the whooole time Finn's dad was fishing and had maxed out their relationship bar.

Finn is actually the only "child" age Sim in the game rn because everyone else has aged up so there's no one his age and he doesn't really have a relationship bar with any of the other now teens. (might have to give him the loner trait when he ages up lol)

So I had Finn ask Aidan to be his best friend, and he of course said yes and its adorable to watch him be a good grandpa, but I am not ready for the heartbreak of Aidan aging up to Elder and dying because Aidan is like one sim week away from aging up and it's gonna be so fucking SAD

ahh thank you so much!! and for alex, bc i pictured him as a sorta alt indie sorta rock artist, and i don't really listen to that genre, i just went with boygenius back when originally writing his character - since then, though, i started listening to a bit of paramore (for my eras tour shows lmao, i only knew the popular singles before that) and i honestly feel like they fit alex a bit better?? like i DO think he would have a few of those sad balads and stuff, and two songs that i canonically made alex's were 'salt in the wound' and 'black hole' with i think are very fitting for him, but yeah. might also be thinking some paramore! but honestly since i dont have many recs from the genre everyone is completely free to imagine his music as whatever tehy like!! but i did make a playlist for the fic here so <33

I feel like people are looking back on old eras with nostalgic eyes because they just miss Jack. Because I remember that era pretty vividly. Fans complained all the time. They felt his team was unprofessional, they felt like Jack picked favorites, he was overworked, many did not like the decisions he and his team made, hated that his friends were more involved, fights happening between the fans every 2-3 business days, wanted Neelam to be fired, hated the interviews because they would ask him about dating, hated his outfits 😂 Of course not everyone but this was pretty common back then. That’s why I was surprised to see people ask for Neelam back. The way some people talked about that woman was horrible. And even if she did come back nothing would change. She was not in charge of stuff like that, neither is his new assistant or lady that’s around now. You would have to speak to Chris or Generation now about that. Once he puts out music and performs everything will be fine. But he’s never going back to that old era. And I wouldn’t either. How some fans acted and got nasty. Way too many people over stepped boundaries. So now there is a whole brick wall built up with guard dogs around it 😂

It's never going to be how it used to. It's sad, but it's true. I think that people don't really understand when they get famous what comes with it. Yes, Jack had been famous for a while but it increased during the CHTKMY era and I can imagine that it was a lot to process because that man didn't sleep lmao It also didn't help that they basically ripped him to shreds over that album and he was so proud of it. I can imagine how his confidence would be affected by that. I do agree that some "fans" were outta pocket with how they acted especially on that other app that I will not name. They claimed to be fans, but ripped him to shreds just like his haters would do. Neelam is just.... I'll keep my comments to myself lmao but because of all that is why we probably don't see him anymore. Privacy has been taken to a whole new level. People need to understand that you can be a fan of someone and not have to know every single little detail about their life. His team needs to be um revised lmao and I totally volunteer at this point. Bottom line is I miss my man lmao

Cops and robbers - underscores: new underscores era hello anyone rockin wit it???? ME im rocking with jt thank u very much!! that one song count of three (you can eat $#@!), which ive heard is very good :3, was the end of the fishmonger era for them, where the "thing" was apparently that underscores wanted guitar on each track. still trying to find The thing about this eras sound, and maybe its the deeming it "the Wallsocket era", but to me everything just feels very buzzy, very electrically alive idk. like theres just this CRT/fluorescent light hum that backs the bass at the beginning. and the middle section just sounds like im listening to a fucking tesla coil make a pop song. shit Rocks. and Fucks. i give this one the Makes Violet Sing And Dance Around In Her Room Alone award this season, which is something i will absolutely be doing from now on and will not forget for the fall hehe :3

光の中へ (hikari no naka e)- Kessoku Band: yeah yeah i know there was kessoku band on the last one BUT THEY MADE MORE SO I LISTENED TO IT. they have such good push and pull with their tunes. like the moments of silence/slowing down before going all out. the quick drum interjections to pick things back up again. like nijikas fuckin getting it!!!! actually i read something recently about the critical reception to kessoku band, the self titled album, that makes a similar point. they were saying that although the album is just good j-rock on its own, the strength of the individual instruments and the texture of the songs themselves embodies the characters in your mind. like i listened to the beginning a bit closer one time and heard the little shreds the guitar was giving at the top and it instantly made me think like "oh shit bocchis fucking tearing it up!" soooo good instantly one of my faves from them.

LOU - whoTF (Folie & Forget Basement), Fraxiom: [transmission regained] and from the production stylings of new hyperpop ish duo whoTF comes another lyrical miracle from the mind and pen of fraxiom music!!! includes such bangers as "I’m blowing up your car/I see Mercedes boom/I’m off four drinks of alcohol/Pissing in the ladies room!" rhyming "you can watch a youtube video" with "get your fitted tutu biddie hoe" (LIKE?) and also the amazing outro from which i could just paste the whole thing but this part resonates especially "I need to become alive, in the morning, like a rooster!/Don't talk to me until I've had my coffee and foodstuffs"..."Estradiol, finasteride, adderall, and thc im juiced up!" making rooster rhyme with foodstuff and juiced up and also everything else in that part god. they dont call them fraxiom fucking music for nothing. um but also whoTF is v good, for one without frax that is still good listen to cigs up as well :3

Natural Disasters - Enon: love me a song with a strange guitar hook! ive heard this bands like top 2 songs (which include this one) bc it was just a night of spotify surfing, but those two songs are quite good. very boucy, good energy. makes me wanna do the bounce in place dance and flail my arms as i sing only the chorus and maybe try to approximate the sounds of the lyrics i dont know. sounds like a good time to me!

Overflow - Een Glish, Tyfty, Ben Glish: eek! so ai voiced songs specifically rap is very good to me. that family ties edit with spongebob and patrick is probably one of my favorite pieces of music. but this artist is v interesting to me :3 een glish is a vocaloid (? not sure if entirely correct but u get what im getting at) made from the google translate ladys voice. and its GOOD this one specifically is very catchy but she has bars too!!! check out rap game bob ross too, and also the remix with bars from SONIC HELLO? im giving this one the Sound of the Summer distinction bc not only is it a very summery jam, but it is the one im really telling u to check out if u get the chance. lots of good jams here.

The Flag Is Raised - Asian Glow: in case we couldn't drain enough this summer, asian glow put out this really neat interpretation of one of my faves off bladee and ecco2k's recent masterpiece, Crest. follows in the footsteps of many a bladee cover for me where the cover often plays over the actual song in my head. like i expect certain isntrumentation when i listen to the original that is only present in the cover but that just means theyre both good ! the guitars and the cymbals all over this make this version feel so shiny... aww and they use the little sigil ring from Crest on the cover for it too :"3

THE FLIES - Operation Sodasteal: think i mentioned this in the tags of a post that im sure uve all read before coming to class today, but ive been listening to a lot of these guys recently! just some furry emo nightcore rock that sounds plucked right out of 2007. the one vocalist, slaney(in)famous i think? im not confident which is which, has such a good voice for it too like they have all the good vocal inflections of ur typical lead pop punk vocalist, and i usually just end up singing the lyrics like them bc im just a silly little mirror huh?

overheard halsey's colors playing at the speakers today and i feel like im transported back to 2014/2015. that entire era... life-wise it feels like i got run over by a tractor and F-5'd to a chair every single day, but fandom wise its insanely fun. ten years ago i used to see blue neighborhood x haikyuu ship edits, bts was getting its international breakthrough and was still in touch with their old sound, i was trying to base my aesthetic around melanie martinez and wrote horror stories partly inspired by her artistic visions and the creepypastas and the slenderverse, which i already liked earlier. also personally it was my first time listening to girls like girls by hayley kiyoko and it felt magical. cant believe 2014 was the exact year punk left wrestling. im honestly expecting more angsty punkena edits set with sad troye sivan music like. where is the corniness??? how come all i see is half detached irony and ppl reminiscing early to mid 2000s as if they werent literal toddlers during those years? lmao

the entire album has this dreamy sad sound........ like i said to my sister earlier "this must be what men feel like after listening to a drake album" except like. the music is better obviously LMAO. i'm obsessed and i also think her vocals on this album are like sooooo amazing like i was listening back to hurts like hell recently and comparing that era to this album now her development as an artist is so noticeable and it's for the better 100%. i really love dangerous and the title track and at your worst and king of everything those are my non-single faves for sure. but envy the leaves is my PEAK fave.

also i'm going to hunt down and kill whatever man was the inspiration for this album i hope u will join me in my quest.
