Homestuck nostalgia post. 🎷🦙

I was able to find the logins for some of my oldest accounts, and flip through some (not all, that’d take hours) of my old school notebooks), and I found a few fun things I want to memorialize.

First, while these don’t have exact dates, they were in my folder that is comprised of art from 2013-2014. I’d date these around very late 2013, or any time in 2014. I just have to post the Eridan fanart first. 👍

Early honorable mention to floating head featuring “I copied these square glasses from Egbert”, circa April 21st 2014. Also, Homestuck shirt from Hot Topic around that same two year time frame.

I also had written some Homestuck fanfic in a notebook, but I had to rip out the pages and flush them down the toilet cuz my dad found it and got pissed off because I made Karkat say “fuck” a whole lot. 🗿

Anyway, on to the things with actual dates. THIS monstrosity was made December 1st, and it had to have been 2014 judging the other papers shoved into the notebook from the same grade.

From my old email accounts, I have a Roblox verification link for my XxKanayaMaryamxX account— a name completely reflective of this particular internet epoch. December 6th 2014.

Search history from October 10th and December 26th 2015, when I had made a fantroll who I now cannot find.

Before going into the rest of 2015 and into 2016, I have to explain the significance of this screenshot:

I goofed around on Chatlands a lot, particularly on Wolfhome and Catspawisland. I just went around making friends on Wolfhome, and on Catspawisland, my character was the in-game niece of my clan’s leader cat (Ashclan and Starrscream respectively, and uhhh if you remember me no you don’t /j nah if you do, let me know :) ). BUT, it was on Wolfhome, during the first month or two after joining, that I met a Gamzee wolf roleplayer, whose name was stylized like my later Kanaya username (I THOUGHT IT WAS COOL OKAY), so like “xXGamzeeMakaraXx” or along those lines. We were friends for a short period of time before they disappeared, and after a while, I guess I disappeared too. Well, that took a bit of a sad turn. Anyway, I looked up what the fuck a “Gamzee” is, and the rest is history.

Soooo, I can safely say the timeline starts around spring or summer of 2012. In short, I’ve been here for a fucklong time. 🤯 But I’m not really an “old fan”— I was just an unrestricted* internet access kid who joined a billion forums and frequented deviantart and fanfiction.net, you know.

*unrestricted actually meaning that I was an expert at sneaking around all while having a very strict parent

Welp, it's been another year, 12 month, 52 weeks, like 360 something days, certainly happened... Even if I wish it hadn't in the way it had.... Oh well.

Arts about the only consistiantly positive elements in my life and I'd say I've made soem progress, tho not as much as I'd like.

So let's go month by month!

January features one of my neopets oc, Streeps, a wizard ixi! I loved, and still love, how this piece came together, the pose is fun, the background is atmospheric, and the colours are niceee, it's fun to play with simplistic background while I learn them!

Febuary we have my awful, terrible, conniving, bratty twins, Siann and Safaia. I love them so much, they're meant to be pretty low level villains in intelegence and physical strength, but both are very crafty and seem to be able to fumble their way to success now and then! This was both of them being redesigned and I'm so happy with it, feel like they look way more related now!

March brought my farewell project to su, one of the few fandoms I've made a bunch of fan art for, and that I've followed since the pilot dropped, I love and miss that show to this day, flaws and all, can't love paswg and say SU had too many problems. 😅😂

Speaking of problems, Rose...oooh boiiii is there some big issues with her actions and behaviours at times but... Damn is that one hell of a design, I mean both designs tbh, Dylan wouldn't have her ominous eye shadows in December's pic if Rose had never existed. 😂

Anyway I picked this one of my whole series bc I think it look nicest of the set, but I do still adore my Garnet pic that started the month, so honorable mention to that!

April brought the 6 fanart challege, bc 2020 is year of the challenge I guess 😂

Peach is such a comfort character, when ever I see her I just want a long hug, some how I don't think I've drawn her before seriously, so it was really nice to make some art of her, pretty sure this was the only one in the challenge with that level of shading. 😂 I need to draw peach again, feel free to suggest outfits of versions of her!

May has my redesign of shihosu, tbh I think that may be my favourite image of the whole year, I'm so proud of my development of her species and her individually and I love love love her, sadly I know I gotta simplify her a bit for ease while making the comic cuz she's important to the plot. But mmmm I am in love with her new design so bad.

I love how it came out, I drew one sketch and the person asked me to change the pose and it was 100% the right descion, I love how the final piece came out ❤️❤️❤️

July is the introduction of two characters who I love very much and will be the main drive of the first arc in the frenrar comic! They're very personal and precious to me, and I hope I can do them justice in my writing and art!

August is a close contender of my fave of the year, but since it was a dtiys ill hold shihosu at 1st place. 😝

I had sooooooo much fun with that one, the colours the lighting, the pose, I'm just real happy with how it looks.

September I remeber being a month i was damn near unable to focus for more than a few hours, so kept making art I didn't love, but I quite like how the checkers piece with my oc Griep Tavros came out. I have a real soft spot for her and I'm really happy with her design.

October brought the OC-tober challenge, and so 31 days of art, still, the top spot was not as close as I'd expect, then again... I'm probably very bias to shihosu, I adore her.

November I simped for the milf witch Eda! I'd only watched a few episodes then, but now I've seen all of season 1 and I would die for eda, luz, and actually like 2/3rds of the cast tbh. 😂 I'd 100% checking out the owl house if you haven't yet!

And now, we find our selves in December.

I think this was the toughest month to pic as while I loooooove the Dylan pic, I do also love this pic of my new neosona, but Dylan won out, she's very good at getting her own way. 😂

100+ FOLLOWERS CONTEST RESULTS!

Thank you everyone who entered! Before I call out the winners, I’m going to call out the answers for all of you who were curious to know!

WHAT IS THE MUN’S MAIN NAME The answer to this one is Stitch. This answer is located in my tumblr description. ‘SkeletalKitsune/Stitch’. I don’t hear people calling me SK or SkeletalKitsune often, hence why it wasn’t an option. Stitch has been a nickname I have had since 2015, one of my friends(someone I still talk to) decided to call me Stitch based on the mun FC I was using at the time and ever since it’s kinda stuck.

HOW LONG HAS THE MUN BEEN RPING? 10+ Years was the correct answer. I don’t remember exactly how long, but I know it’s been longer than ten years and shorter than twenty. The answer to this one is on my blog’s promo. I also bring up this fact whenever someone asks me about my writing, things like ‘how did you get so good’ and whatnot. I also bring it up when people ask me about my ‘no tolerance for bullshit’ attitude. I’ve been doing this way too long to care.

HOW LONG HAS THE MUN BEEN IN THE DUCKTALES FANDOM Since 2003. This answer wasn’t really on my blog, this was something that I have just mentioned in passing multiple times. Now I don’t consider saying you’re ‘in the fandom’ as meaning that you are online and posting your fanart or anything like that. No, I consider being a member of the fandom as someone who likes the series and is open about it and willing to talk about it to others. I started doing that back in 2003 with the original. The original DuckTales has been in my life for a really long time.

WHAT PERSONALITY TYPE IS MY SCROOGE? INTJ. A few weeks ago I made a headcanon post about how I took the Myer’s Brigg’s personality test with my Scrooge, answering how he would. I ended up getting INTJ-T. Ever since then I have been playing Scrooge based off of that type, which isn’t changing much honestly. The only thing I changed to my portrayal is I talked a little more about how little he understood his own emotional scale. I can understand why people got this wrong.

HOW OLD IS MY SCROOGE My Scrooge is a resounding 150 years old. This, at the beginning of the event, was in my threads more than it was in my about. I mentioned it very frequently since I actually found out his somewhat canon birthday of October 1st, 1867. But a day into the event I put it into my about in a small secret update(more on that in my next event). So that’s the note for that.

WHAT IS MY SCROOGE’S BIGGEST FEAR? Fear of Abandonment. This first materialized in a thread with @feathered-riches​, Scrooge commented that one of his worst fears was being abandoned, that he never let’s people get close because of that. To continue on that I officially posted a headcanon about it soon after. He does fear other things, obviously, but he has an awful fear of abandonment due to betrayals and his outlook on life.

WHO DID THE MUN RP BEFORE THIS BLOG? Hidden away in my blogs, there is a little link, a little link that will reveal my old blog. Roland Deschain from Stephen King’s Dark Tower series was my previous muse. AND NOT THE ONE FROM THE MOVIE! THE ONE FROM THE BOOKS! I have a strong disdain for the movie. They botched it so hard. Anywho, the character is very close to my heart and actually bares a lot of similarities to Scrooge. They both share the same MBTI type of INTJ. This was the one question almost everyone missed.

WHAT’S THE MUN’S FAVOURITE ANIMAL? It is a Fox! This is a little more of an inference type question. If you look at my alias it is SkeletalKitsune. If any of you guys know anything about Japanese mythology, a Kitsune is basically a fox. Also if you guys haven’t noticed the mun will post animal videos on occasion, you won’t see any other animals really besides ducks, geese, and foxes. I can’t help myself with those cute fox videos and pictures.

WHAT DISORDER IS MY SCROOGE MOST OFTEN COMMENTED TO HAVE? He is mostly commented to have Insomnia. This doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the other disorders that were mentioned. He certainly does have PTSD and is Bipolar in some respects, but Insomnia is the one I mention the most frequently due to how many threads take place during the night time. Scrooge’s Insomnia stems from his anxiety, this isn’t the type of anxiety that sends him into panic attacks or hinders him too much, although in some cases it certainly can and will. This anxiety he has more has to do with him over thinking and spooking himself, being unable to sit still for fear that he is doing something wrong. He is very conscious of how he affects others, even though he may not see it. Despite this it is Insomnia that is described the most in my threads. He will often be found sitting up late at night with some alcoholic beverage, usually wine or whiskey, and be reminiscing on memories-- usually his time in the Klondike and Goldie. 

HOW MANY DUCKTALES BLOGS DO I RUN AS OF NOW? 3! I run 3 in total. This one, @dimewitch​ which is my Magica, and @klondikequeen​ my Goldie. These can be found all over my blogs. In my promo, in my links, on my relations page, you can find them literally everywhere. While my two sideblogs aren’t nearly as active as this one (RIP Magica) both muses are very much part of my time RPing here. They both also commonly make guest appearances on this blog too!

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE MUN’S PORTRAYAL? 76.5% of you guys said you Loved my Portrayal, giving it the best rating you could! 23.5% of you guys said you Liked It, giving it the second best rating. This is great for me because it means that you guys are enjoying my Scrooge and that there is little that I’m already doing that doesn’t sit right with you guys.
