Why did you choose your URL?

I used to play french horn. At the end of every year for my high school band, usually the older kids would come up with awards for everyone involved and I believe when I was in grade nine @to-catfish-a-bottleman crowned me the buzzy glovehorn enthusiast. Because you know. To play french horn you put your hand in the buzzy horn like a glove.

Any side blogs?

Yes I have one, it started as just the blog where I'd put stuff if I was like. Sad or felt like I was posting too much here and now it's still those things but to a lesser degree, with the addition of things I'm reblogging to save and I'll actually be able to find them later because of how infrequently I post there. It's funny because I've never explicitly told anyone the URL and my mutuals keep finding it by accident and it's kind of like a game for me to see how many of you have actually found it.

How long have you been on tumblr?

Yikes I'm not sure, I think this blog has been around since like 2017 but I definitely had one before that where I made one Harry Potter post and then lurked for the rest of it's existence. No interaction with anything. That was weird and I genuinely have no idea what the URL was.

Do you have a queue tag?

Definitely not I hardly queue anything except for things with my birthday in them (tagged it's my birthday, so I guess that could count) and that one post for the ides of March. Anything else you get the pleasure of seeing them whenever I decide that I am logged the fuck on, and that's your problem <3

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

Why do I do anything. Honestly I don't remember starting this blog so I don't know. It just popped into existence one day and here I am.

Why did you choose your profile picture?

I used to have plastic dinosaurs all stuck to my walls. I didn't have a pfp so I took the shittiest resolution picture known to man of one of them and bam. There's the iconic dinosaur you know and love today.

Why did you choose your header?

I went to a con with @to-catfish-a-bottleman and we saw a bunch of skeletons playing risk. Iconic. Blog worthy. I couldn't resist putting them on there and they're probably here to stay because I'm resistant to change.

What's your post with the most notes?

Not sure specifically, but some of my greatest hits include Problem Pasta, the restaurant that only played songs from the Gnomeo and Juliet (2011) soundtrack, rocks are good for holding, there's a fine line between too much outfit and not enough outfit and I'm gay so I have no idea where it is, etc. Most of the ones that get any traction tap out around 20-25 notes and I'm fine with that, considering the way that I embody the meme that's like "heartbreaking: man thought 2 or 3 note post was really more of a 5 or 6 note post".

How many mutuals do you have?

Kind of a lot, actually. I don't know what the actual number is but I. Am addicted to making friends. Thanks

How many followers do you have?

102, but it feels like every day I meet another ass bot so not actually 102. A large number of them are blocked. 9 on my other blog but 4 of those are blocked too. To everyone who can read this: thank you for not being a bot/sending me unsolicited dicks. I really appreciate it.

Have you ever made a shitpost?

Define shitpost. Most of my posts are shit posts, but in the kind of fandom sphere I've made a bunch for different books I've read and immediately forgotten that will, not often, but occasionally get notes.

How often do you use tumblr each day?

It varies. I haven't really been active lately (hey, I'm still alive!) but when I am, I do end up on here for hours at a time. Often.

Did you ever have a fight/argument with another blog once? Did you win?

I don't think so, I don't like discourse or arguments.

How do you feel about "you need to reblog this" posts?

I hate them. If it's reblog bait it will be ignored, I promise.

Do you like tag/ask games?

I do, and fun fact about me before I moved rooms I had my bed up against the wall and I'd write the questions on it in pencil so I'd remember what I was responding to.

Babe I don't know. If they're on my dash they're on my dash. We're all just distant acquaintances waving at each other, sometimes rapidly cycling through various disguises and telling me So Much about things I know nothing about. I don't know who half of you are anymore. That's fine.

In homestuck, when John creates the eight pivotal kids, he first clones the four alphas (best bitch, sword dork, butch bakery lesbian, and green gun john senior), who only exist as clones because their universe was destined to be scratched.

from the genes of the alpha clones, the machine then mixes four more babies (iconic goth gf, cosmic princess, original flavor john, and shades-emoji-only-wears-shades-to-hide-the-tears boy-whos-trying-his-best).

the kids are named alphas and betas as a nod to video game terminology in relation to their roles either side of the event that separates them, the scratch. The pre-scratch kids are betas, post scratch kids are alphas.

this is also the case with the trolls, but hussie allowed their labels to be flipped for the sake of continuity. Since the first set of trolls were introduced alongside the beta kids, they were named the beta trolls despite functionally being the alpha trolls - that is to say that it is reasonable to assume that just like the alpha kids, they are the genetic parents of their beta counterparts.

This information coupled with the knowledge that aranea admits that she’s related to terezi and, by default, vriska, indicates that all the “alpha” trolls are in fact genetic children of the betas.

Since we know almost nothing about the “alphas”, the following is only speculation - but based on the way the eight kids relate to their counterparts and from what IS known about all the trolls, i think the parent/offspring groups are as follows:

Prospit:

Kanaya and Karkat’s Traits = Porrim and Kankri

Terezi and Vriska’s Traits = Aranea and Latula

Gamzee and Tavros’ Traits = Kurloz and Rufioh

Derse:

Feferi and Eridan = Meenah and Cronus

Sollux and Aradia = Damara and Mituna

Equius and Nepeta = Horuss and Meulin

Like its hard to say exactly what results are yielded from this information. Like ive said before, Aranea being Terezi and Vriska’s daughter makes a whole lotta sense. Additionally, just as Dave and Rose seem to have inverse personality traits to Roxy and Dirk, the same can be said for most of the troll offspring.

Sollux’s quiet and grim acceptance of his situations is now shown in Damara, and Mituna inherits a loss of control over his emotions post-catastrophic event from Aradia.

Eridans vicious ambition and Feferis will to subvert the expectations placed upon her causing people to not take her seriously are inherited by Meenah and Cronus respectively.

Kanaya and Kankri both find ways to be gentle yet scathing, to appear appeasing but hurt you if they want to. Karkat and Porrim hide from their caste-assigned fates, fight them, and also have themes of romance. (Theyre also all gay, so jot that down.)

I know next to nothing about kurloz, and i dont really care about rufioh, horuss and meulin. So im not sure about them idk.

It is obvious to me, though, that Latula and Aranea are definitely daughters of Vriska and Terezi.

Latula is technically counted as disabled by her culture and while the ramifications of that factor are unclear at best, she definitely had that air of wanting to prove she was better than what people made her out to be, as Vriska did.

Aranea wanted to think she had it all figured out and that she was the one who could do everything right and make all the calls and all the judgements necessary herself, and that just screams both terezi and Vriska.

Aranea basically achieves a perfect blend, which i think is what makes her an interesting antagonist. Vriska and terezi are the main characters of homestuck - they literally drive the entire plot, so imo its cool that their cosmic paradox slime kid, their traits combined, become one of the more solid threats to their tale.
