god, yesterday my coworker (who lived in the UK for several years) and i were talking about edinbourgh and she asked me if i found it very hilly. i said no. then i thought about it for a bit and realized i did have several memories of looking up or down a steep hill.

the thing is, i was living in bilbao when i visited, so i think it just seemed normal........

#not all of bilbao is hilly but i used to have to regularly do a mad sprint up a very steep hill to get to class on time #my brain works very strongly in relativity. for most of my life i didn't consider cities 'big' unless they approached the size of nyc #in all fairness my hometown is also pretty hilly and staying in a flat place too long fills me with a bone-deep sense of paranoia #don't ask me if places are hilly. ask me if they are flat. hills re the natural state of things. flat cities..... very weird #the rain in spain
