rant in the tags cause i have LOTS to say about this

no cause why do so many outsiders fans just hate women. y’all can’t let women do shit. genuinely pissing me tf off cause so many people get pissy that ace is in the musical. “steve should have had a bigger role, if they could add a whole other character-“ i’m sending nukes. the steve debate is a whole other thing, ace literally has a few lines, that is not taking up a ton of time steve could have had. be so fucking for real. having a female greaser isnt unrealistic and having her be a tomboy isn’t either. read her backstory tilly wrote ffs. just. woooooooo. ace hate has me crazy. she’s barely even there yall truly just hate women.

#when i saw the musical is made me SO HAPPY to see a female greaser #in the book and the movie we never got to see any #and with the steve thing #yes the musical is longer than the movie (in which steve DOES have lines)#but with the addition of songs in makes certain moments extend longer than they usually would like in a play or a movie #thus taking up more time than the original but still having limited story telling time #and as this person said Ace is not taking up ANY space that steve could have had #ace is basically an ensemble member who is there to fill space for dance numbers and such #she's an established character on account of tilly writing (AMAZING) lore for her #but that lore is not touched on or developed in the dialogue of the show #and you know what #LET WOMEN TAKE UP SPACE GUYS!!#in addition this show is from PONYBOYS pov and we all know he doesnt really like steve #like ponyboy breaks the 4th wall multiple times #so its not shocking that if it wasn't NEEDED he wouldnt write about steve #and in the musical specifically he is not needed as a developed character #ALLLL in my opinion #but these are my thoughts :)
