🧊 - Is their current design the first one?

honestly for hya, yeah lmao. his design has only gotten more detailed as i've nailed down his fashion sense. but if you look at the first time i drew him, to the most recent time i've drawn him its deadass the same. all the core elements i knew about him immediately: black hair, deep brown skin, hime bangs, beauty marks, gold. that's all totally consistent with how he is now lmao.

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

HONEST TO GOD I WANTED A CHARACTER WITH HIME BANGS i think they're so cute and i wish my hair worked in a way to allow me hime bangs without having to break my neck to make it happen. so that's how the design started.

for his personality... i have no idea. i don't think he was really consciously inspired by anyone. when i first had the idea for paramour my idea of what would become hya was mostly around the ideas of him being a 'typical' gothic lit protagonist who was married off to a creep in a haunted mansion. crimson peak was a big inspo, so ig main girl was kinda? the inspo? maybe a little bit of belle from beauty and the beast, which is why hya still likes reading ig? but literally his personality took an entire left field when i wrote that first piece trying to figure out him and amon's dynamic and hya nose dived into being an asshole land LMAO. but it felt so natural to write that ig that was just who he was always supposed to be!
