Latin! What are your thoughts on the upcoming game “Balan Wonderworld”?

Jaja, I memed it a little bit on Twitter, don't know if you saw it (might be hidden in responses), but I was also thinking about what that game meant on a more serious note, and I think your question came in the right moment :P

So, the first thing that came to my mind about Balan Wonderworld wasn't NiGHTS like others pointed out, but A Hat in Time. Haven't played that game yet (it's there on my wishlist though), but I instantly recognize that unique charm it has, and Balan's powerups in a way reminded me of the different hats (and also that short Sonic reference, you guys ain't fooling me.)

Another thing I remember from the trailer are what seems to be the harder challenges and boss fights, and let me tell you, that shit is straight out of Super Mario 3D World and Odyssey. I legit thought "So, this is SEnix's response to Mario", and I hope they can do a lot more interesting things with that inspiration, instead of just retreading old ground (which might prove particularly tricky with such an old genre like platformers.)

Eventually I did end up noticing some NiGHTS and Billy Hatcher vibes, and so I think Balan might be a compilation of all sorts of experiments from 3D platformers, executed by some of the most talented and veteran names in the industry. Being with Square Enix makes me just a little bit nervous, but if things turn out well I'll gladly give it a shot when it comes out. I'm especially interested in the technology under the hood, considering several of the original Sonic Team Hedgehog Engine engineers left for Square Enix shortly after finishing it, and working on the amazing Luminous Engine powering Final Fantasy XV. There's a lot of SEGA talent there, and I hope Balan shows it shining again.

Now, the only thing this game is lacking is Jack Black singing some dope psychedelic rock. Girl, I'm so pumped for Psychonauts 2.

My opinion on the Sonic Movie

No, i didnt watch it at the moment, and im not in a hurry to watch it, lemme explain.

Im not even an active Sonic fan, i sort of walked away from the fanbase by lack of interest and time.

Anyway, about the movie. I am not in a hurry to watch it but i still want to watch it, i was not even hiped for it. I only planned to watch it one day after seeing some people’s reactions to it, like @imilenium(someone i follow, i recommend to take a look), which... pretty much was the only way i kept in “touch” with it.

I still want to watch it, of course. But i cant rush, i dont have time since im in a highschool, there arent cinemas close and... i am reserving my money for something more important, like school stuff.

You might ask, “Why dont you watch it online by a piracy site?”... Okay, probably you didnt ask that, but i refuse to do that. I will admit im guilty of some piracy, but the people behind the sonic movie took extra effort in the movie, they even changed the visual because of the backlash, it would leave a sour taste in my mouth.

If its a good movie will it “bring me back” to the fandom? Maybe not, if i see that SEGA is getting better at the main games, imma get back.

If i watch it one day i will probably post my tumblr xd, and sorry for the bad english, i aint a native. Have a good day

Wait it just hit me. I know you’re a Sonamy fan but what are your thoughts on Knuckles x Rouge? Do you have any other ships? :o

Hey! SonAmy might be the most popular thing both of my blogs offer, but it isn’t the only thing I ship! Of course I do have more to say about other pairings :P

For example, I do love Knuxouge, and as I was saying the other day, their SA2 arc is probably the part I like the most from that game. I want to see more teasing and stuff from them, but unlike SonAmy it’s not something I actively crave for. But that ship is still going strong, as recently as TSR at least.

Other pairings for Sonic would include Blaze and even Sally for me. I know, I know, I did blast Sonally to Mars and back both here and on SHP, but toxic characterization aside, I do like that ship under certain conditions and arcs (for example, SatAM Sonally is pretty harmless imo.) 

And on the topic of Blaze the Cat, I do like shipping her with either Sonic, Amy or Silver. They’re all nice pairings on their own, with Silvaze leading the charge for me because of the whole “I don’t remember you but I feel like we have a strong connection from elsewhere” (which is a recurring hint I’d like to see further explored once and for all, Sonic Team .-.)

And before I forget, Whispangle is soooooooo cute, I genuinely love it <3

Now, you probably are wondering “where does Shadow fit in all of this?”, thing is, he doesn’t. I always liked to think Shadow isn’t really into anything beyond strictly platonic; it’s not like a “love makes you weak” situation or anything like that, it’s just that I don’t see him interested. He has his friends (yes SEGA Shadow has friends and you can go about changing that part of canon as you please, write your own damn fanfiction if you want but don’t mess with that canon), he does deeply care for some of them (like Rouge, and I’d like to say Amy to some extent), and he’s perfectly fine like that.

Oh, silly me! I almost forgot about Tails! Well, Tails and Cream never really made it for me, not even when aged up and their personalities changed considerably. That’s why I liked Zooey so much back when Boom first introduced her (that whole joke with Tails’ tails suddenly spinning when he saw her was funny 5 years ago, I have to admit), but just like the entire Sonic Boom universe, she never went... anywhere... and it’s kinda sad. Finally, I have to adress the elephant in the room: Tailsmo. Uhh... I never thought too much about it, not even during my peak childhood days that I used to ship everything that Sonic X had to offer. I’m fine with it existing, and I’m fine if everyone forgets about it. I like to think that Tails taking care of that plant that reminds him of Cosmo, hoping that one day they’ll meet again, but still grateful for all the short memories. It’s the only bittersweet thought I have for him.

Welp, that turned out to be quite a lenghty answer, whoops. Did I satisfy your curiosity? What do you think about some of the ships I mentioned? :P

(btw the real mvp of this blog is rayllum, and it’s not even a sonic ship, but i’m madly in love with just how wholesome it is)
