Back turned to the door, John paid little attention to those around him, keeping mostly to himself. His plans for the evening was the usual case of drinking to forget, though even this small desire was spoiled by the appearance of a man whose face he vaguely recognised taking a seat next to his.      “Let me guess, you’ve gotten yerself into another spot of trouble.” Making assumptions, he was fairly certain of what the other was going to say. After all, who else would be daft enough to enter a pub so early in the morning but to meet with him and discuss particular matters.

Okay...but like. Why the fuck would you bother to anon someone about this??? Just don’t read it if you don’t like it. Personally, I like seeing a ship that wasn’t explored in canon and both takes of the characters are amazing. Please re-evaluate things nonnie. I mean, you’re also wrong because people do like Rita since she’s great.

Mahia knew she was making herself far too easy to track… though, there wasn’t much she could do about that fact at the moment. The crimson splatters across pavement and cement, leading all the way up to this hidden alley were out of her control until she managed to get her arm bound. 

Thankfully, there didn’t seem to be many people around. A small blessing, but one she would happily accept as she tugged strips of cloth from her bag, winding them around and around her wound, pulling them tight in hopes it would stop the bleeding… at least until she managed to get back to her campsite. 

The healer had just drawn her blade to slash away the extra makeshift bandage when the sound of footsteps echoed off surrounding brick. Wide eyes darted up, her gaze raking across the stranger in an instant, taking in every detail, making note of every movement…. he didn’t look familiar. However, she’d long since learned that meant very little. And her hand hesitated, dagger still hovering an inch above fabric.    “ What… what do you want? “

“Right.” A business card is thrust into his hand before he has the time to decline it, a sharp grunt of annoyance whistling past his teeth from his reluctant acceptance of the gift. Reading it backwards and forwards, turning as necessary, John’s mouth twitches with the ghost of a smirk, but it doesn’t materialise. Instead having read the card’s contents, he passes it back to the man who gifted it to him

“Remind me what it is that I am supposed t’ be impressed with? That you ‘ad a criminal record that you love t’ mention? Or is it that yer giving me yer shitty life story because ya happen to need me t’ do sumthin’ for ya?” Rarely was it the case that people sought him out to say ‘hello’ after all. There was always an ulterior motive present. “What’ll it be, guv?”
