Writing my pitch to make the furby my final project

Whenever the front door is opened, indicating that my roommates are entering or leaving the apartment, the reed sensor will communicate the event via mqtt to the pi running home assistant, which will then communicate to the Wemos on the furby to briefly close the stomach switch circuit, causing the furby to react with it’s originally programed movement and speech, thus alerting me to my roommate’s arrival and/or departure and that I should engage in social niceties to help maintain good relations. This will have the added benefit of alerting me to any unwanted guests entering the apartment at odd and unusual times. Being greeted by such a creepy toy should also serve as a persuasive argument to leave.
