Yata notices Saruhiko is distracted only to find out it's because Saruhiko is thinking about the Blue King again.
Though of course if Yata asks Fushimi will deny it and then launch into a tirade about all the things Munakata does that annoy him, unaware that he’s just showing how much he’s noticed about Munakata. I kinda imagine this during the One Year Later period when Munakata is missing, and Yata notices that sometimes Fushimi gets this really far away look. They’re playing video games at Yata’s place and normally Fushimi’s pretty focused but he’s obviously kinda distracted today — and thinking about it, Yata’s noticed that Fushimi’s distracted a lot lately. He’s asked about it before and Fushimi always denies it but it’s pretty clear to Yata that his mind is elsewhere.
Yata beats Fushimi in their game and he grins, that’s what you get for being distracted Saruhiko. Fushimi grumbles that he isn’t distracted and Yata gives him a fond look as he’s like ‘it’s the Blue King again, huh.’ Fushimi’s immediately like I am not thinking about Captain and Yata’s like yeah you are, you think about him a lot. Fushimi grumbles that he doesn’t think about Munakata, he’s just…wondering where that worthless King’s gotten off to, that’s all. Munakata’s easily distracted by anything shiny and he’s always finding ways to move people’s hearts or get into trouble, so it’s natural that Fushimi would think about him sometimes. But it isn’t like Fushimi cares or anything, it’s no business of his where Munakata went and how he hasn’t even sent so much as a text stating he’s okay.
Yata laughs at that, like wow you really do care about that guy huh. Fushimi snorts and clicks his tongue in response. Yata pauses, considering, and then says he’s not really one to talk, since he still isn’t sure what Fushimi sees in a guy like that, but still…he’s glad that Fushimi has someone he can think about this much, someone who makes him distracted like this. Fushimi says it’s not a good thing at all, even when he’s gone Captain can’t stop bugging him and Yata says well maybe when he gets back you should let him know you feel that way, because I bet if you do he won’t go anywhere again.

In a Gakuen K setting, even if it's really cracked out, how would Munakata confess his love to Fushimi? And visa versa?
If it's Gakuen K it should be cracked out XD In that case I imagine Munakata's love confession would definitely be extremely over the top, like imagine a whole scenario of him working with the rest of the student council in secret in order to prepare the greatest love confession of all time. Munakata has had feelings for Fushimi for a long time now and he's been considering his options as far as confessing, he's aware that the proper channels such a writing a letter and leaving it in Fushimi's shoe locker are more common but he feels something so simple would not be enough to move Fushimi-kun's heart. Instead he orders the other members of the council to follow Fushimi for a few days and report back to Munakata with the day's most heart-pumpingly romantic scenario possibilities that can be created from Fushimi's daily routine. At Akiyama's suggestion Munakata attempts to throw Fushimi a knife with words of love written on the hilt, but Fushimi promptly catches it and throws it back without even looking up (Munakata dodges and Doumyouji hiding in the bushes beside him almost gets skewered). At Benzai's suggestion he tapes a love letter to Yata Misaki's back, sadly Yata finds the letter first and ends up fainting and tearing the letter after mistaking it for a confession from a girl. Kamo suggests rearranging the cafeteria's strawberry milk collection to say 'I love you,' unfortunately Anna-sensei comes looking for milk before Fushimi shows up and quietly knocks the entire thing over. In the end Munakata holds an elaborate haiku reading concert in the middle of the school common and announces his love for Fushimi for all to hear, as the alphabet squad shine a spotlight on a horrified and irritated Fushimi. (Despite his mortification though, Fushimi does agree to go on a date later when Munakata privately corners him in the student council office and offers a sincere request for Fushimi's affections.)
Fushimi's confession adventures would probably be more 'Fushimi is trying to avoid confessing his love and circumstances keep conspiring to put him in positions where a love confession would occur.' Like he's kinda realized that he has feelings for Captain but he refuses to admit to them, Fushimi would rather bite off his tongue than let Munakata know that Fushimi might be in love with him. He's determined not to say a word, except as soon as he steps outside it turns out the school festival is happening and Shiro is running a couples contest and as it happens Munakata-senpai is here and doesn't have a partner, so would Fushimi-kun assist? Fushimi tries to make a run for it but Neko uses illusions to turn him around and the next thing he knows Munakata has grabbed his wrist and is smiling at him all confidently and Fushimi finds himself blushing slightly as he mutters that fine, he'll play along. The contest proceeds with Fushimi probably knowing a lot about Munakata largely absorbed through annoyance ('What is your partner's favorite thing?' 'Stupid puzzles. I walked into the council room once and he was doing a puzzle of my face instead of working. Creepy.'). Munakata meanwhile knows a truly stalker-ish level of personal information about Fushimi and even Shiro is calling this out as disturbing. In the end Fushimi manages to mutter out what he thinks is a private confession when they're alone, only for he and Munakata to win the contest at that exact moment and the nearby microphone turns on so the entire school gets to hear Fushimi (badly) confess his love.
#reisaru#Talking K#Gakuen K means maximum crack#sadly words cannot convey my mental image of Fushimi's expressions#imagine Munakata trying increasingly weirder plots to win Fushimi's love#also Munakata and Fushimi winning the couples contest even though people kinda suspect Fushimi hates him

Yata and Fushimi grow up in an orphanage, while Yata is here because his parents died Fushimi´s parents simply left him. They are happy and one inocent romance is starting, but one day when they had 10 years, a magnate adopt Yata, looks like a good persons, anyway, children don´t decide. They promise to meet again and start a life together as the family than never had. Years later, Fushimi left the orphanage and begin an business, never searched Yata because thought that now he has a better life
Maybe they try to write letters to each other after Yata gets adopted but the letters keep getting intercepted somehow and so Fushimi assumes that Yata doesn’t care about him while Yata thinks Fushimi’s been adopted and has no idea how to find him. Imagine the two of them as sweet little kids at an orphanage, like maybe Yata’s brought there after his parents die in like a car crash and he meets Fushimi, who’s been there basically since birth because his parents totally abandoned him at a gas station or Niki traded him for cigarettes or something. Fushimi’s already pretty jaded for a kid, like most of the other children in the orphanage are in similar situations as Yata and lost relatives, or they were turned in to the hospital as infants by parents who hoped for them to find a loving family. Fushimi by contrast was basically just dumped and even though none of the workers at the orphanage ever told Fushimi about it he hacked the place’s computers and discovered the truth (like imagine all the kids discussing their parents and wondering if their parents are looking for them and all that and Fushimi decides to actually check, and that’s when he learns how unwanted he was. This knowledge just makes Fushimi pull away from everyone else even more, he already had trouble fitting in and he feels like now he knows why, because of all the children here he was the one who wasn’t worthy of even the smallest amount of love).
So then when Yata shows up he doesn’t fit in well with the other kids either, he’s really loud and enthusiastic and probably overcompensating for his grief about his parents by trying to be extra cheerful and energetic. Yata’s all trying to round the other kids up to make a ‘Yata Team’ and he wants them to break curfew and go exploring and all that, the other kids find him annoying and talk about him behind his back. One day Yata overhears and he runs into the bathroom to hide, which is where he finds Fushimi playing games on a PDA he stole out of the garbage and fixed all on his own because none of the kids are allowed to have their own PDAs. Yata’s immediately all amazed by him, like Yata knows Fushimi vaguely because all the other kids always tell him not to play with Fushimi but Yata never really paid that any mind and he always wondered why Fushimi was alone so much. Fushimi tries to get Yata to go away but he’s also struck by Yata’s shining eyes and the way Yata calls him 'cool,’ no one else has ever said anything like that before. Soon after Fushimi gets sick and even the workers at the orphanage are overlooking him and ignoring him while only Yata fusses and worries and stays by his side and of course from this point on the two of them are inseparable.
They don’t talk much about what they would do if one of them got adopted but maybe Yata occasionally brings it up, like what if someone adopted us both and we got to be rich and travel the world and it would be super awesome. Fushimi shrugs and makes a comment about some of the places they could go see and maybe they like start talking about silly romantic places, like just offhand Fushimi says if we were adopted separately we could just meet at the Eiffel Tower on my 21st birthday. Fushimi’s teasing but Yata’s immediately nodding, Fushimi clicks his tongue and says he wasn’t being serious because even the idea of Yata being adopted without him makes him feel sick for reasons he doesn’t like to think about. But then some time later this rich guy named Suoh Mikoto shows up and adopts Yata, maybe he’s like the head of some mafia family and happens to be distantly related to Yata’s mom and he’s been looking for her son for a while. Yata swears that he won’t forget Fushimi and tells Fushimi to come find him again, Fushimi meanwhile just ignores Yata and probably hides in his room on the day Yata leaves, telling himself this is his own fault for getting so attached to someone.
Years pass and eventually Fushimi leaves the orphanage on his own after attending college – he was given a grant by some annoying do-gooder businessman named Munakata Reisi, who keeps acting like Fushimi should be grateful to him and it pisses Fushimi off. Fushimi joins Munakata’s company and he’s highly praised for his skills but he refuses to really socialize with many of the people around him. Fushimi thinks about Yata sometimes and it irritates him every time, like if Yata cared surely he would’ve written letters or sent emails or something. What Fushimi doesn’t know is Yata was writing letters but the staff at the orphanage were intercepting them, thinking it would be bad for Fushimi to be hearing from someone who got adopted when he himself clearly won’t ever be. As Fushimi’s 21st birthday approaches though Munakata suggests he take a trip somewhere to celebrate. Fushimi scoffs at that and says he’d rather work. As it happens there’s some conference in Paris that week and Munakata decides to send Fushimi there, Fushimi looks at his plane tickets and just shakes his head because there’s no way Yata would ever remember their stupid kid promise.
So then on Fushimi’s birthday he’s attending the work conference in Paris and he keeps looking towards the Eiffel Tower and wondering, and then feeling disgusted with himself for having hope. After the conference some of the other attendees try to get him to go with them for drinks, Fushimi refuses and decides to walk back to his hotel. It’s getting late and cold, Fushimi wrapping his scarf around his neck as he thinks that things are fine this way, he doesn’t need anyone near him. Even so he somehow ends up walking right to the tower, standing there with all the tourists looking up and thinking that see, he was right, he was forgotten, and he should never have gotten attached in the first place. That’s when he hears someone yell 'Saruhiko!’ and Fushimi looks up, face red from cold and eyes wide as a familiar red-head comes running towards him at top speed, tears in his eyes and a wide smile on his face and Fushimi doesn’t even have a moment to brace himself before Yata’s grabbing him and hugging him tight and saying over and over again how much he missed Fushimi and how he’s been waiting all day, worried that Fushimi forgot, but determined not to leave because all he’s wanted all this time was to finally see Fushimi again.
#sarumi#Talking K#I"m sorry this is so cheesy but I'm soft#I just want them to run to each other in the snow and hug ;^;#ofc Fushimi can't even believe that Yata still cares about him and is angsty afterward#and they spend a week in Paris falling back in love#with yata being like 'I will now punch you in the face with my love and affection you asshole'
