When I was in kindergarten, I decided for about a week that I wanted to be called “Wendy” (that is not anywhere near my name, and I have no idea why I picked it) and actually signed my school papers with that name.

I love brunch. Diner brunch, fancy brunch, I love it all.

I love sparkly beverages -- champagne, prosecco, but also sparkling juice and sparking water

Twelve years of Catholic school, and while I still think of myself as Catholic, I don’t really go to church. I occasionally consider shopping for a new church because I’m a believer, just not down with the misogyny and the homophobia and such.

I was once dumped at brunch, which is ironic given my love for it (see above). It wasn’t really at a breakfast place, but it still sucked. One of my roommates at the time was also dumped at brunch (also not at an actual breakfast place), so we started referring to it as being “brunched.”

Do you approach writing The Music and the Mirror at all differently now that you know it's going to be published?

Not consciously, it still has to be true to the characters and the story I’ve had in mind for them since the start. The editors may have some changes to make though :)

I mean, that would be ideal, but I doubt I’d have the motivation to write the same story twice. Tbh though most of my good AUs would be rather hard to turn into original fiction anyhow--some aspects of the plot always lean rather heavily on the fanfic setting. For example, all my Phantom of the Opera AUs lean heavily on the fact that I already have an opera house, a guy whose modus operandi is stalking the girl he’s in love with and she is aware of this fact, a guy who has a secret lair in a semi-public location, and an established love triangle, and also a little of the gothic aesthetic.

Now I have like three different AUs for Phantom that I would rather write as original fiction because of a) the amount of time they would take, and b) significant changes to plot and characters including backstory. But I need to come up with a satisfying framework first...

I guess what it comes down to is I’m lazy about world building.

I don’t know.  I also don’t know how people can not know that asking an actor if they’re leaving the show or being killed off isn’t appropriate either.  I think I’m going to have to expand my “please don’t ask this sort of question” section on my con advise.

Along with soliciting the fandom for a list of “these questions have already been asked a billion times.

Have fun! This is one of the crazier kitchen adventures I’ve undertaken, and it’s a bit like having a pet to take care of, but once you get the hang of it, it really makes terrific bread.

It’s going to be a big thread in Ballet, that’s kind of started already, and in the Asking sequel when I get to it. I’m tempted to write some gen about Cat and love though... dammit.
